Comcast just stopped by and left me with this amazing internet connection! I cannot believe how fast the connection is when I'm not borrowing it from my neighbors. So expect more posts! We also got cable TV with DVR. I am so excited to not have to plan my nights around House and Biggest Loser. How did we get along for so long?
Just a quick update. All calm on the Auburn front. It feels really good to finally feel safe and at home. I have a new love for our place. I have finally gotten around to making things my own. The latest: a new couch!!! I am so excited! Not to complain, I really loved the plaid couch and GIGANTIC Lovesac (thanks for the loan, Al), but now I feel that I can really relax. The recliner section is really making this blog post so cozy. I just wish it wasn't so expensive to heat... our house if freezing! It has been so cold at night, and with our vaulted ceilings it feels like a cave in here. We finally broke down and turned on the heat today for no more than a few hours. It was the only way I could get myself off my new couch to do something, I am really loving the huge quilt my mom and Jen made us. We lit a fire last night. It looked really cool but we got no heat. Every time I complain, Blake just reminds me of the other things I HAVE to have. He knows I'd live in sub zero temps if it meant a new purse, who wouldn't :) I know, I'm a freak. That's really all that's going on.... someday I'll have cute kids like Al to blog about. For now, Blake will do!

Mini golf at Park Lake State Park. We loved going after dinner when if finally cooled off. Awesome course! We're trying to get over to the Supermall to try their glow-in-the-dark course. Anyone been there?
Ok peeps. I figured I better post before an angry mob kicks down my door (aka Al. Just kidding :) This summer has been so crazy. We love having freedom so every opportunity that comes up to pick up and go somewhere we have done it. Sun Lakes in July, Alta Lake in August, and this weekend we are taking off to Idaho to go to Silverwood!!! Yay, we 'll never grow up.
What's new: Blake just got a calling to be a Deacons advisor and he is so excited. He was worried they'd stick him in primary with me. I'm getting eaten alive! Finally yesterday I threw caution to the wind and gave them candy to calm them down. My mom would be so proud! So BLAKE'S CAR ALMOST GOT STOLEN! People around here must think the grass is so much greener on the other side. Maybe I should take it as a compliment that they like our cars so much. Tuesday night Blake's car alarm went off. It never goes off. We thought it was weird so we slept with the window open after that. 2 nights later I woke up to a weird thumping noise. I looked out the window and some punk was trying to get in his car! So I grabbed a golf club and ran out side waving it like a mad-woman. The perp was quick, but I was quicker. I chased him down and pinned him to the ground with the club until authorities...... ok I'll stop now. I actually woke Blake up, and ran into the other room to call the cops. Then I cried like a baby. Not so tough, I know. The cops were helpful though, really nice guys. The next day we went to Puyallup and got the best after market alarm we could find. It has a lot more features, and Blake is excited about the remote start (but really, does he really think he's going to start up that "bumble bee" as my dad calls it at 5:3o in the morning? Let it warm up for 10 minutes?) Already our neighbors hate us. When we got the car home we decided we would test it out. We got it to set off, but couldn't turn it off. For 20 minutes the horn blared. Everyone was coming out of their condos to see what was going on. It was so embarrassing! It turned out that his factory alarm was going off, so the only way to turn it off was with his old remote. Who knew? We were at a BBQ Saturday and he was telling his buddy about all the features. It even chirps at you if you kick the wheel, then the remote pages you and tells you. So Blake said to go kick it. I went into the driveway and started kicking it. It wasn't working. I kicked harder. Finally I yelled "It's not working!" Then the guys wife said "That's because you're kicking MY car." Dang, I felt so dumb. They wouldn't let me hear the end of it. In my defense, both cars are silver. But her car was a Kia, not a Subaru. Let's just keep that between us.
It's no new news that the day we got back from our honeymoon we realized my car was stolen. It had been parked right in front of our new condo. There is no way to really explain the feeling of total violation. For the last 4 weeks we have been borrowing Blake's uncle's car. We had been talking all week about returning the car today so we don't abuse a favor. Our plan was to just make due with one car, I was going to drive Blake to work and he would get a ride home. Even though this plan would work, it was going to be a huge inconvenience. We were optimistic though. We were determined to hold true to our promises to not go into debt and a stolen car wasn't going to jeopardize that. So yesterday morning at 12AM I got a call from the Auburn police department. THEY FOUND MY CAR!!! They asked us to come pick it up and gave us directions. My car was found literally half a mile from our place. It had been abandoned at a townhouse complex. It had a note probably written by a tenant that said "Please don't park here, this is a reserved space." It had probably been sitting there for a few weeks and they just called it in. Nothing was wrong with it, besides the point it smells like someone got really sick in it (I am having it cleaned and detailed next week...YUK). It even still had half a tank of gas in it. My mom's theory is that the really did only drive it half a mile and they probably saw a better steal and swapped cars. No biggie, I call it the advantage of having an old car... no one wants it! When we got back home and went back to bed we were almost afraid to go back to sleep. We were worried we would wake up and realize it was only a dream. We were lucky, it really was back. Smelly and with a brand new bright red club, I am truly fortunate to have it back.
Yay! We are finally married. I thought this day would never come. I was so afraid that the day would be over before I realized it because I have been anticipating it for so long. Luckily, the day was fun, relaxing, and everything I wanted. I woke up around 8 o'clock. Telling my self to be in control from the beginning helped me stay calm. I first went to my make-up appointment at Nordstrom. Dani and Jes went with me and kept me sane. My hair appointment was at 10 o'clock with all of the bridesmaids. One of the stylist had a medical emergency so poor Alaina had to be flip-flopped from stylist to stylist to get her hair done. I met my mom at the stake center and we went over to the temple together. Jennifer met us there with my dress. Bless her heart, she went all the way to Tacoma that morning to pick it up. The only bump we hit was trying to bustle my huge dress. At one point I had three women under my dress trying to find the buttons. After the ceremony we met everyone outside. I was so surprised to see all the people there to support us. After family pictures the lucky ducks got to go back over to the stake center and have lunch. After two and a half hours of pictures it was finally our turn to eat. My dress was so tight, I had to go in a room and unzip my dress just to eat a sandwich. The reception was gorgeous, my fairytale come true. One hour into the reception, I looked up from the line and realized that the entire gym was full. It looked like our guests really enjoyed the carnival theme and the parents loved us for all their sugared up kids. It is so cliche, but it was truly the best day of my life.
