Following the Trend...going private

I don't know if this will be a big deal or not because I'm pretty sure 2 people read my blog. :)

But if you want an invite leave a comment on this post and I will send you one. I'm gonna try to blog more too. But after a weird comment from someone in Austrailia I've decided I don't like having the whole world be able to see my life and family without my knowledge.

Mya's Blessing

This was such a special day for me. I know most people bless their babes in church...but I just wanted to have something intimate and relaxed so I wasn't stressed about blessing her. I wanted to enjoy this day. And I did.

We blessed Mya at our house surrounded by her family. She was pretty close to perfect during the blessing and Eric gave her a beautiful blessing. I am so grateful for him. He is a pretty awesome dad and has been as supportive as I could've asked for through the past 3 months of me being a hormonal crazy mama at times.

Thank you to everyone who came. WE have the best family ever! And thank you to family that traveled up from cedar city to be here with us. We love you all!

Grandma Bonnett hand stitched this bonnet so we had Mya wear it for a minute to get a picture. She really doesn't like having anything on her head.

3 Whole Months??!!

I am dying over here.

I can't believe my sweet little bug is 3 months old.

She is seriously to die for and just when I think I can't love her anymore she comes along and does something even more adorable and I find a way to.

I'm just gonna say it.

Being a mommy is hard stuff. The last 3 months have been a bit of a dream and we have been through some tough stuff with little Mya.

But guess what I have figured out?

It just comes with the territory. I think it's just a part of being a mommy. Just when I think I'm figuring out little Mya and know what she needs or figure out how to get her to sleep better or getting a handle on her reflux and she is getting to be a happier baby....BAM! Something else is thrown into the mix and leaves me scratching my head and wondering [why the h*%# is she only pooping every few days when we was going every day. She is strugg.l.ing. Has the worst stinky toots ever and wakes up every 2 hours at night screaming in pain until she gets those toots out. Help?! What am I supposed to do to get this girl moving again. Could it be dairy in my milk? I've tried cutting that out (although not completely), I've tried stopping the vitamin D drops, I've tried giving her grape juice (per the doctors ok), sticking a thermometer up her bum, letting her suck on a wet washrag... I'm so tempted to switch her to formula just for the fact that I hear she will actually poop everyday. Who knows??]

Anyway....sorry for going off on that tangent. :) I love being a mom and I thank Heavenly Father every day for this sweet little miracle angel baby that came into our lives.

She is my whole world and I love her to the moon and back!

Here's some fun stuff about Mya that I want to remember too!

-Just figured out how to mimic; daddy will raise his eyebrows at you and you will do it back and the same thing with sticking your tongue out; only if you are in the mood though

- You can roll from your tummy to your back, when you feel like it :) You really don't like being on your stomach but you do have a really strong head and neck and are constantly holding it up and looking around at everything.

- You love your bath! You smile from beginning to end and have just started to figure out how to splash REALLY big. Then you get your face wet and get sooo surprised.

-You've just started to find your hands and will bring them up to your mouth to suck on them. Sometimes you will grab onto toys and try to bring them into your mouth but you haven't quite got that down yet.

- I can tell you are starting to teeth because you love to attack moms finger if I will let you suck on it. You go crazy and shake your head like a dog attacking it's prey :) I love it.

- You are a little jabber box....sometimes. Some days you want to talk and talk and others not so much. You have THEEE cutest little, tiny voice in the whole world and I can't wait for you to talk more. You have a happy voice and a sad voice and an excited voice and squeal that you do. You also do this sweet little quiet ah goo.

- You love to nap in your swing. I know this is gonna be a hard habit to break when you have outgrown that thing but you will give mom a good 3-4 hours in the morning and it is amazing.

Ok enjoy (some) lots of pictures!

I just had to post this one because of how teensy she was... :(

Tatum took this picture when Mya was soooo sad. Is it bad that I love that pouty little lip sad face?

I love that she smiles with her whole face....and yeah the cheeks are my favorite!

She will only sleep if swaddled up tight....any tips how to break her of this?

Going to get her 2 month shots :(

This is how she feels about tummy time...

And here is her rolling over!!

She loves her binky

All bundled up ready to go on a walk to the mailbox.

Almost too big for her swing....thanks April!! :) And yes her thighs are AMAZING!

At 1 month...

At 2 months old...

...and 3 months old!!

Oh hi there hand...

Let's see how it tastes...

Oh hi mama....

You are crazy mama...

Ok I'm done.

First Bath

Mya got her real bath when she was 8 days old. Because we had her on the bili lights I just was so worried about that I didn't worry about giving her a bath. It was great though because by the time we gave her a bath her belly button fell off so we were able to give her a real bath and not just a sponge bath.

Aunt Suzy came over to help me give her her first bath and she loved it. She just sat there with this face the entire time and was very relaxed. It was a different story after she got out of the bath. She was not happy. She didn't like being cold or having lotion rubbed on her. She still doesn't like when I try to rub lotion on her. Dangit. Oh well I still torture her anyway cuz I love a good smelling baby.

Here is her bath at 8 days old.

And here was her bath at 8 weeks old. She loves her tubby time!

Mya Jane Kling- Birth Story

I wanted to have this documented so I can always remember the day I became a mommy.
So my blood pressure had been a little high towards the end of my pregnancy and I was worried about having a big baby because Eric weighed 10 lbs 3 oz when he was born. I have the best doctor ever and he said he would induce me on the 3rd if she didn't come before then. I was almost fully effaced and dialated to a 2.5 and he felt confident that my body would cooperate well with inducing. My official due date was 11/11 but I was done being pregnant and didn't care anymore if she had a cool birth date. So I quite workin on the 1st and just spent time getting the house ready and her nursery finished up. On the 2nd I cleaned the house top to bottom and finished getting my hospital bag ready so I would be ready in the morning to meet our little girl.

I had been having contractions throughout the day which was nothing new since I had been having contractions for the last 4-5 weeks of my pregnancy. That night as I was going to bed I started timing my contractions and they were about 3-5 minutes apart and were actually consistenly painful. That lasted for about 2 and a half hours so finally Eric told me to go shower so we could go to the hospital and see if anything was really happening. So I showered and we headed over to AF hospital at about 12:30.

We got there and they hooked me up for monitoring and I was dialated to a 3. The nurse acted like she didn't think they would keep me and I think she thought I was just trying to make sure I had the baby on the 3rd because I was 3rd on the induction list. After hanging out with some pretty painful contractions for an hour she checked me again and I was at a 3.5. She called the doctor on call and she told her to admit me. YAY! I was a little freaked out at this point because I was really going to have this baby soon and there was only one way she was coming out. At the same time I was very happy that my body was doing this on it's own and I wasn't going to be induced.

The nurse said I could get my epidural now or wait but that the anesethiologist was already out if bed so he would probably be happy if we had him do it now. I wasn't sure I wanted it yet because my contractions weren't too unbearable yet but I had them do it anyway. The epidural wasn't too painful but it was a really weird uncomfortable almost scraping on the spine and weird pressure, but after it kicked in I felt great and couldn't feel a thing.

The nurse said they would check me in about 2 hours to see where I was. So Eric and I just hung out and he tried to sleep but I couldn't really sleep. At one point the baby's heart rate dropped because the contractions were right on top of each other and they were about to give me medicine to slow my contractions down, but they put an internal monitor on me and her heart rate went back to normal. At this point I was a 4 or 5 I really can't remember.

They came back in about an hour later and checked me because I was feeling a lot of pressure down there and like I could feel the monitor moving down that was on babies head when I had contractions. I was at an 8 at about 6:00 or 7:00 AM. They asked if my water had broken and I told them no and they said the doctor probably woudn't come out of bed to break it and they would just wait until my doctor came by the hospital around 7:00 or 8:00 and he would break my water.

Dr. Jones showed up and checked me again at about 7:30 and I was at a 10 and ready to go. They said that because the internal monitor was on baby's head it would've broken my water but I probably didn't notice because it was a slow leak. Dr. Jones said to have me start doing some practice pushes and see how it goes so we started that at about 8:30.

At this point my epidural had worn off quite a bit. I was feeling a lot of pain from the contractions and primarily a lot of pain down by my inner hip where I think one of her shoulders was stuck or something. They had the anesthesiologist come in and give me more medicine directly into my epidural line and it helped for a little bit but eventually he ended up having to come back in 3 more times after that because the pain was so bad.

Pushing was hard. I pushed for about an hour and 45 minutes before baby girl joined our family. I felt alot of the delivery and could feel him stitching me up as well a little so that wasn't fun.

Baby girl wasn't crying and was pretty bluish and not breathing very well when she came out. The nurses worked on getting her to cry and breath better and came and put her on my chest for a few minutes so I could meet her before they had to rush her down to the nursery to get some help. Eric went downstairs with her and I was terrified. I just wanted her to be ok and didn't know what was wrong and just hoped everything was ok. They had to put her on an IV to help get her blood flowing and put her on a CPAP oxygen mask to help her breath on her own for about an hour and they they gave her a bath and after about 3 hours I was finally able to have my baby with me. They said that because of the long pushing it was a pretty stressful delivery for her so that is probably why she was having a hard time.

I loved her so much already and it is amazing how you just love and know this little one that has been growing inside of you for the past 9 months.

We had a hard time over the past few months thinking of a name that Eric and I both agreed on and we kind of hated each others names that we loved. Mya was on our list but it was never one that either of us loved or said much about we just liked it. After seeing her little face it thinking about it though it just feel into place that she is a little Mya. Jane is her middle name after my mom and sister.

It's been over a week since Mya got here and I love her more every day as I learn more about how to be a mommy. It's exhausting and a whole new world but I am so grateful that I get this chance and that I have my little miracle baby.

She has had a bit of a rough week since coming home. She wasn't pooping when we left the hospital and she wasn't getting much to help flush out her system since my milk hadn't come in yet and her jaundice test came back high the day we were leaving the hospital so the doctor wanted us to retest it the next day to see where it was at. It was still high so the doctor wanted us to start her on the Bilibed light therapy on Sunday to try to help her jaundice levels come down. We had to have her in this mini tanning bed thing and when she wasn't in there we had to have her with a mini blanket light under her onesie. We were supposed to keep her in the bed except for to feed and change her. We weren't very good about following this and just used the blanket light most of the time but finally yesterday we got good news that her levels were low enought that she could come off of the lights. It was such a relief and I'm hoping now that we have that over with we can get into a routine with sleep and all of that fun stuff.

I'm so happy to be a mom and for my little Mya.

25 weeks

So I've been having people bug me to get a belly picture up. So this is for them!

I feel really big for how far along I am but I really don't care. I am just so happy to be having a healthy pregnancy and grateful that everything is going well still. Only 15 weeks to go! I am still feeling great and love feeling little girl moving around and kicking like crazy. I get to do my gestational diabetes test next week and have heard that is not the most pleasant experience so that's not much fun. Oh well though!

We have been trying to start getting her room together and I am starting to feel the stress of not having bought anything for her. I am at the point where I know there is really going to be a baby in a few months and I need to start getting all of the necessities.

We took a vacation out to Oceanside, Ca in March for my Dad's timeshare. It was a really fun place even though the weather was pretty crappy the whole time we were there. We still did some fun stuff...

The first day we were there we went to an Aquarium in Carlsbad at LEGOLAND. It was a good indoor activity since it was so rainy that day.

We spent a day at the a beach up in Laguna that was gorgeous! And there was actually some sun that day too. Thanks Uncle Greg for joining us and for the awesome pictures!

We also went to the beach that was a short walk from our hotel in Oceanside and walked on the pier around there. It is a fun little town. I also got some really good sunset pictures. My favorite!

And of course we had to go to Disneyland and Universal Studios while we were there too...

PHEW!!! Are you still reading this? Then you are awesome. Cuz that was lots of pictures. Sorry this blog is more for me than anything and I'm not sure if many people read it but it's my way of keeping memories.
