Thus far in 2011
In 2011 so far, we returned to Istanbul, found a new house, the kids have all started school and Chad has already been on one out of town trip. Life as usual has begun. (click on picture to view web album)

Fall / Winter pictures of 2010
In the Fall we started homeschool for the first time. We enjoyed the flexibility of it. The kids were able to visit the grandparents houses during the week and we were able to travel some (with and w/o kids). There was a field trip to the zoo and the Science Museum.

The Historical Seas Tall Ships Regatta in Istanbul
As part of the Istanbul 2010 European Capital of Culture, the Tall Ships Regatta come to town. They sailed through the Bosphorus last week and then came back into Istanbul for a show. It would have been cool to see them sailing through with their sails open, but we didn't. We did get to go on the boats though. After leaving there Miss Lois taught the kids how to shoot a gun!

Kids programs in Ephesus 2010
I knew the kids were going to do their program on the stage in Ephesus, but it wasn't until they were up there and I was videoing it that I realized how cool it was that their backdrop was a real ancient city from the Bible!

We went to a Korean prayer conference in Ephesus this week. It was not quite the same as conferences we usually attend, but it was fun! And there was a lot of prayer! Here are some pictures of our time in Ephesus for the last big meeting.

Safranbolu Trip
Deanna and 4 friends set off to Safranbolu to celebrate two friends 40th birthdays. It is a nice tourist town with old Ottoman stile buildings and handcraft stores. Click on picture for album.

Ancient Rome in 3rd grade
Justin's class did a unit on ancient Rome. They did several activities, including a toga party and a field trip. The Kripy Kreme was just an extra for fun thing. They didn't have donuts in ancient Rome. :)
