In Monday's email from Elder Hess he told us that we needed to ask Kerri Zundel to send him some of her pickled beans.  We thought this was rather random...either he missed Kerri or he missed her food.  Later that evening...Sister Orgill posted to Facebook these pictures with the caption "Service Project picking beans for a local food bank in Irvine".  After picking all these beans....I'm sure Elder Hess was craving Sister Zundel's delicious pickled beans!

Hey everyone!

So I better Write this Cause everyone keeps asking if I'm gonna write one so here..

So this week my heart broke a little bit cause the one and only Elder And Sister Litchfield left us 

:( they were literally the best!!! Elder Litchfield trained me! ha

UMM.. this week was pretty lame! Not a whole lot happened! So this letter will probably be short!

So I did learn a pretty valuable lesson this week.. So we were at our second dinner yesterday to this single mom with two sons and they just treated her like horrible so I got in their face a little bit cause it just really made me upset.  Once we left what do ya know?  It hit me in the face, that was exactly what I was like when I was home! So ya sorry family ha but other than that he got his friend to take the missionary lessons! So that's pretty dope!

Other than that we play basketball every monday night so im gonna go get my ball on!

Hey!

So this last week has been pretty good. We had a lot of good stuff happen a lot of ok stuff happen and not really a whole lot of bad happened ha.

So. this week we moved another wards investigator into our ward so he is now our investigator! He is pretty chill his name is David.  He is probably the most hick guy you will ever meet from Texas looks like Eric Church when he puts his shades on.  You would think by looking at him he would just be chillin at home sittin back watching college football kickin back a 12 pack (which is probably true) but he actually runs his own law firm and is a genius. After the move he took about 15 missionaries to B-Dubs and payed for us all.. not cheap but he is a super cool guy! He told us he was gonna have us over for a "meeting" soon! (Texas vs. BYU) ha 

That was pretty much the exciting part of the week!

So this week I've been thinking about who the Jesus we really need to know is! So I listened to a talk by S Michael Wilcox intitled "the Jesus we need to know"

He tells the story about the women with the issue of blood, this women having this problem for 12 years as it says in Luke's account and under the Law of Moses anything she touches, sits upon or anything is becomes unclean and the cleansing process take a while! So you could imagine what this lady is going through.  She has probably lost all hope and faith! But... she hears about this great rabbi this great master named Jesus Christ and she found out that he was coming her way! Right there her faith was probably lifted a little and she gained one last glimps of hope! 

So knowing her not wanting to make anything unclean but knowing he was coming she figured if I just touch the border of his garment I can be cleansed! And she ultimately was which is amazing but the one part that I really like is the part in red. Christ wasn't harsh or condemning cause an unclean women touched him he was happy, proud of her like good job you did it now go enjoy your new life! and that is the Jesus we need to know !

Another random text....love them!  Looks like Elder Hess and Elder Rivera stopped and visited Catherine Brophy in Mission Viego.

Hey!

So this might be the shortest letter yet.. maybe a little longer then last weeks who knows.

So I'm now in Oak Creek which is the next ward over from my previous ward. I still live in the same apartment which is nice! Just new ward and new companion! His name is Elder Rivera, he is pretty sick! The new ward is awesome it's a pretty young ward which is always nice! The area which is just on the other side of the street from my last area is like ten times nicer and pretty wealthy so it's good and bad at the same time! Not really a whole lot happened this week!

So I guess the thought of the week is about obedience and example and how they go together and how I can apply that to my own life! The scripture that stood out to me most was this one...

Romans 5:19

19 For as by one man’s disobedience many were made sinners, so by the obedience of one shall many be made righteous.

Satan was that one man who was disobedient therefor many were made sinners but the one who was obedient to the fathers will ( Jesus Christ) we can all be made righteous through him!!

Elder Hess

Elder Merrit and Elder Hess.  When Kyle first got out on his mission, we went to California to Grandma Pakka's funeral.  While in California...we put together a fabulous package for Kyle and my Aunt and Uncle dropped it off at the mission home.  Unfortunately, Kyle never received his package because Elder Merrit had placed it on top of the car, he forgot he had put it there and then he drove off.  It's nice to see that there are no hard feelings and the two became friends.  Saying goodbye to Elder Merrit.

Elder Hess and Elder Rivera....Oak Creek Ward (Single Adults Ward)

Hey!

So its transfer week and I got a call that I'm getting transferred which is partially true.  So I was supposed to leave completely so I'm all packed ready to bounce!  About an hour ago our assistant called me and said "you're gonna hate me but you're now staying but moving to another ward!"  So good news I'm staying in Irvine, bad news our assistant sucks...jokes their good!!

Ok so the best part of the week...this is gonna be pretty short!  We have a less active part member family in our ward and the husband (Johnny Hung) is the non-member who is more of member than the wife but Johnny had a major back surgery and we stopped by and he was in the garage building a catapult and we had a sick talk with him and we broke through big time, as we were talking I noticed a nice set of golf clubs and so I asked him if he was a golfer and he said he was a huge golfer but can't go due to injury.  But the miracle is he gave us his golf key for the driving range so I went this morning and it was a huge relief for an hour or so!!  I told him I would come by and talk to him about golf but guess what I'M FREAKIN NOT IN THE WARD ANYMORE! But it's ok cause I'm just gonna keep going hard no matter where I am at!
