First Limo-ride

I'm officially an employee for Aspen Family Dental! During the internship at the office, a good day consisted of well behaved children, smooth procedures, and maybe a root canal or 2 (these are my FAVORITE!) But nothing will ever top the day I had at work last week.


The entire office staff was instructed to be at our office at noon and dress comfortable. We were told that a consultant was coming in to tell us how to work better as a team. When I first heard this I thought of all "The Office" episodes where Michael comes up with crazy activities for their office training meetings. That sounded exciting to me! Then I got to thinking about the "dress comfortable" part. Holy cow, Dr. Baird is warning us that this is going to be a boring consultant so we should all come in our PJ's to snooze away the afternoon.

I couldn't have been more wrong.

I pulled up to work to find this "Bad Boy" blocking my parkin space!

I parked and ran inside to find out what the heck was going on.

Nobody had any idea what was happening. We gathered in the conference room and Dr. Baird handed each of us a glorious $100 bill. There was no consultant coming in, and today we were going to have some fun. We were going to go out to lunch at California Pizza Kitchen, then we were let loose in the University mall to play a game. With our $100, we had to spend it on ourselves only. And whoever spent closest to exactly $100 got an extra $100 dollar bill.

Can you even believe it!!

Well you should if you dont, cause this business is REAL.

I was so proud of myself for spending $100.43 I thought I was doing pretty dang good, until 5 other girls told me they hit it right on the money. Literally.

It was such a good day, and I'll never forget it!

Amazing life I live

Engagment Club

Exciting things are happening at the Baird Household! 3 weddings in 4 months! That's right. Lacey and Ammon got the ball rolling in February. Dust and Chris got engaged 2 weeks ago. Jord and I got engaged last Friday! So awesome!

Our family is expanding rapidly! I'm so excited for our futures!

This morning I was dropping Jaxon off at school, before I headed to start my first day as an intern at Aspen Family Dental. I walked upstairs in my scrubs and Jax asked. " Why the heck are you wearing that?" I responded with a smile and explained why. He just laughed and said, "Well good, its about time you got a real job!" He thought he was sooo funny. As we were in the car driving to school Jax asked if I was nervous. I quickly responded yes, and explained it was like the first day of school. Where you don't really know anyone, and you defiantly don't know what to expect or what to do. He had a very insightful answer..." Well Chels, I'm sure Dr. Baird sat down with all the other people who worked there and said, Now you all know we have a new person coming to our office and I'm sure you all remember what it was like on your first day, so just be nice, okay.." Dr. Baird must have done just that because everyone was so friendly and helpful! I had a great time and cant wait to go back tomorrow.

Little Things

Sometimes I get so caught up in life that I don't even realise how wonderful my life is. Even though I might not have done as well on a certain test, or some stupid woman driver cut me off on the highway. Little things like this can spin me into a case of the "Bad Day Blues".. Work today was slow and that always gets my mind thinking.. I thought about all the amazing LITTLE things that have happened to me the last few weeks.

On Monday night Jordan and I took a second to stop and smell the flowers.. Literally. (detailed info on how amazing it was on his blog )

I know there are tons of people who love my family, and they all have different ways of expresssing it. This week I'm greateful for the person who helped Lacey and Ammon do their engagement photo's... for a killer deal..

But more than these major events. I enjoyed the little things that made me smile all week long.

Like on Thursday, Jordan decided to be wonderful and make lunch for me after I finished my biology final. It was delicious!

And on Friday I woke up to 5 texts in a row from my dad, telling me how proud he was of the things i'm doing in my life. As well as how much he misses me and my happy face. (I seriously needed to hear that from him!)

and then to top it off... (you'll never believe this)....I hit the jackpot baby!

Thats right, 1.7 mints in one package!

Every Buddy Needs a Brother

My big brother Dustyn

Dustyn has an amazing talent in art. Graffiti is his specialty, (legal of course). He's teamed up with Virgin River Skimboards and is now designing all their skimboards!

(don't know what skimboarding is.. Check this video!)

Dust and I use to go skimmin at least a few times a week when we lived in St.George. I have to admit, I was the looser who hit the sand-bars and face planted in the water. Dust probably brought me along just for this entertainment. But I don't mind one bit.

Recently Dustyn and his business partner Chan (Virgin river skimz founder) have started a new project. LONGBOARDS. The company is called Paradigm and I must say, the boards are phenomenal!

We haven't been longboarding for a very many years, but its definitely something I enjoy. I'm not very good but I still like to pretend I am. Last year I bought this sweet longboard..

and this year I put in a request for a custom Paradigm board... It arrived last week! Threw on the trucks and wheels and took it for a little spin yesterday.. Completely impressed!! I absolutely love it! Dust did a great job with the artwork and its such a sweet board. I love him to death and can't wait to head to St.George and hit up the trails.

Last year Jaxon had an accident. While playing at my cousins house one Sunday, Jax and the other boys his age decided to do some skateboarding. Jax, being the tough kid he is, decided to go first, he jumped on the rear of the board as it sprang up and popped him right between the eyes, breaking his little nose. I thought he would be petrified for life and never touch another skateboard/ longboard as long as he lived.. Buy yesterday to my fantastic surprise... This happened.

Its gonna be a great season! If you ever want to try it out, give me a call, and we'll go for a little cruise. (I even let you pick which board you want to ride)

They call me Grace

Today was just another wonderful day full of concrete and band-aids. I have the worst luck with dresses and earthly elements. A few years ago while I was living in St.George I went to pick up my friend at Discount Tire so we could go to dinner and a movie. I dressed up real cute to impress him. At the time I had beautiful long blond hair and as we stood outside chatting for a minute before we left I noticed him smiling and I thought it was because my hair was blowing all sexy in the breeze. We continued chatting and I felt something brush up against my ear, thought nothing of it and continued to focus on the conversation. A few minuets later I felt it again, I reached up and grabbed the foreign object. To my horror I realized I was holding the bottom of my skirt. It had flipped up and was dancing away in the breeze... and that's why my dear friend Nick had been smiling the whole time. I turned around to see if anyone else had seen the glorious sight.. all I saw were mile high windows filled with people staring right at me. Nick and I laughed it off and never forgot the experience. My family even brings it up and we laugh about it all the time!

Lesson #1 - Never wear a flowy skirt on a windy day....................Learned
Lesson #2 - Laugh it off and it wont be as bad of an experience...Learned
Lesson #3 - ALWAYS wear clean underwear..................................Learned

Even these 3 lessons couldn't prepare me for what happened today. I woke up and checked the weather; sunny skies, no wind, perfect. Therefore I wore a cute summer dress. I got out of class and was feeling good, I started walking to my car when I tripped on this stupid piece of fence and made a not so graceful fall to the hard, (and very dirty) concrete. And yes, it was just my luck I was wearing a dress today and everyone saw everything. Now, I don't think I'll ever know how many people around saw what happened, but I'm estimating around 20 within 15 feet.

With my pride shot, panties showing, and bleeding knees I thought nothing could get worse, just stand up Chultz and walk it off I said.. I slowly regained composure and started to stand up, just as a gaggle of very nice young (still in high school, or freshly graduated) boys from my math class walked up beside me, from behind. Pointing and laughing... (I KID YOU NOT!!) As if I wasn't hurt enough! I seriously started to cry right then and there. I was covered in dirt, bleeding from the knee caps and having a hard time standing up. This just made me so mad, if my knee wasn't swelling and bruising already I would've chased them down and done something wild and drastic that would've landed me in prison this afternoon. Instead I hung my head and sobbed my way through the parking lot.

I don't know how many of you have fallen down recently, but from 6 feet up its a hard fall! My knees have some cute band-aids now, but I'm still bugged to high heavens about those stupid boys and how they laughed at me. I promise no matter where I am, or who is around, I will never, ever laugh at someone who has fallen! A kind gesture or helping hand would be great, but sometimes silence and no acknowledgement is better than a big fat finger to the face with audible guffaws.

Lesson #4- Never laugh at someone who has fallen unless you know them on a first name level and can laugh WITH them about it later on in life.
Lesson #5- Always offer a helping hand to someone who's down
Lesson #6- A hug and kiss on the forehead to someone you love will recover any pride lost in a "blond moment"
Lesson #6- Just because you're wearing a skirt and its not windy outside, doesn't mean your unmentionables don't have a chance to shine in the sun.. Always wear clean underwear!

Is this great or what!!!

I've recently re-discovered one of my talents, which happens to be very therapeutic. I can sit and put puzzles together for hours. Maybe I enjoy it so much because of the conversations and relationships that are buit while putting those little pieces together. My amazing sister torey and I, sat together for over 2 hours the other night, chatting away while working on the 3 ft long picture of New York skyline. This puzzle is rather difficult because there are about 50 builiding that all look the same..See!

I was thinking the other day how cool it would be to put together a puzzle of a picture that had meaning or a cherished memory behind the photo. I started looking online to find one of a Mini Cooper, or the famous Moab Arch, without avail. But, what I did find was so much better and completely unique! There is an amazing company that takes pictures of your choosing, and transforms them into a puzzle! Can you believe that! You even get to pick how many pieces you want. Anywhere from 16 to 2,000 pieces! If you cant tell, I was really excited about this. I found one of my all-time favorite photos of Jordan and I and placed an order for a 500 piece puzzle.

I recieved my order in the mail yesterday and I'm so excited to start it. Hopfully Jordan will help me complete it...

Okay, when I first started reading this I was flattered that someone would leave me a note on my car. Then I started to realize that there are 3 cars at UVU that look EXACTLY like mine. How did Mr. Thompson know it was my car, unless he followed me out to the parking lot after class. Or waited in the parking lot and saw which one was mine. Either way, that's kind of creepy and a little odd. Then I was thinking of every guy in my Biology class who it could be. Because I sit next to 2 girls every day and had no idea who this Rob guy was! I was talking to my best friend Jordan about it and he reminded me of this creepy kid who always followed me out to my car last semester. By this point I'm mild freaked out and trying to convince Jordan to walk me to and from class so this creepy biology Rob guy wouldn't kid nap me! Jordan kept telling me I should just call him and find out who he is.. So after 20 minutes of building up the courage to call... I dialed the number and pressed send.. I looked at my phone completely perplexed, as a familiar name came up..

It took me a second until I realized.. I'd been punked, and completely fooled by my very own Jordan Langston.
This was the only April Fools joke that was played on me.. Thank heavens!

C is for Chelsey

Good morning California and fellow bloggers!

Nothing says hello, like morning "hotel hair". What a great way to start this magical day! Today we headed off to California Adventure and jumped over to the Disneyland park again.

Yes, notice there is no snow on the ground, and we aren't wearing jackets! The weather was so perfect today, we couldn't have asked for more.

We are all getting along great and life is wonderful!
Yesterday on our way home from the park, my mom said that it was one of her favorite days shes ever had, in her entire life!!
Things are only getting better.

Getting there was definately half the fun

Nothing is better than ditching school, going on a road trip with people you love.. and having Disneyland as your final destination.

And today, that was our plan! Unfortunately the mini cooper couldn't hold all 6 of us so we rented one of these..
We all fit mildly comfortable. and the ride was great. We only got lost once on the 7 hour drive, (which i find amazing). You'd think after being stuck in a car with your family for a very long drive, you'd be jumping at the chance to get out of the car at the first chance possilbe.. But us Bairds have a different way of doing things..
We made it safe and cant wait to meet these guys tomorrow!

Now what?

February has been a month full of emotions. I have officially survived the Wisdom Tooth removal process! The first few days were bad, and I blame the pain pills. I promise you, (whoever you may be), that I will never, ever, take another Lortab as long as I live! But thanks to amazing friends I made it through without pain killers. A dear friend made me a survival kit. Complete with everything necessary.. from Tylenol meltaways to the latest issue of EuroTuner (featuring a mini cooper!). It was so thoughtful and kind and I truely believe thats the kick I needed to get me through. I'd also like to thank everyone who came and visited me, it was so nice to just lay in bed and listen to you talk..

On another note:

My little sister got engaged to this guy on Valentines day. I'm full of mixed emotions about it, and I'm not really sure how to react. So for now I'm keeping my mouth shut! I'm the big sister and I should be supportive and stuff but I guess I'm just pissed off. Recently my best friend got engaged and I've been completely supportive of that, I love hearing about all of her wedding plans and seeing how excited she really is. Its not the same with Lacey. (HELP) any advice or tips would be great..

Dentist, Gloves, and Slobber

Never have I ever been a fan of the dentist. My dentist in St.George had a hairy nose, bad breath and shaky hands. (bad combination!) his shots of Novocain were always excruciating and I hated that man. BUT, I had a much better experience this last week. This is a picture of my cousin Rob Baird. He's by far the greatest dentist ever!

(anyone who's been to see him will agree!)

He just opened his new clinic in Payson, UT that's absolutely beautiful and fantastic. His staff is so friendly and kind.

I went in this week to get a few cavities filled. Which usually leads to a series of painful shots. But that didn't happen this time. I usually get the laughing gas which helps me relax. (Okay, it makes me COMPLETELY relaxed, to the point that my arms and legs fall off the sides of the chair.) The nitrous is scented (such a good idea!) I always get vanilla because it smells nothing like vanilla.. After the nitrous has soaked in, the dreaded shots come next.. I close my eyes so I cant see the needle and flex every muscle in my body to prepare for the "little pinch".. After a few seconds and no aweful pinches I peeked my eye open and noticed that he was in the process and completely bipassed the uncomfortable pinch! I was shocked..

The little pinch was replaced by something new and refreshing. I noticed a slight minty flavor and had no idea what it was, so I asked where the heck it came from. Dr. Baird wiggled his fingers in front of my face and said.. "these of of course!"

Who would've ever thought that they would make FLAVORED gloves! He told me they have all sorts of flavors! grape, orange, mint, bubblegum.. and the color of the gloves corresponds to the flavor. So rad.


The procedure went great, 3 cavities filled in like 45 min.
I stayed for a few minuites after the procedure, just to make sure all the laughing gas had filtrated out of my system before I drove home.



Then I spent the rest of the afternoon entertaining Lacey, Shelby and Jordan with my crazy dentist face and slobbering capabilities. My face was numb for about 4 hours.. all in all it was a good experience. The dentist is great, and if you don't believe me, watch this..

Enjoy... Or not.

Today marks my one month anniversary of having NO COKE. I cant believe I've made it this far. Every single day I stare into the face of temptation. One of the companies that we (Apello) answer for is Coca-Cola North America. Its one of our largest clients and we get calls all day long about repairs needing to be made on coke machines... These phone calls use to make my taste-buds jump with excitement. But now everytime I get a call, my mouth just sings a sad, lonely song of the love it once knew. I thought I could escape from these thoughts the other day, so I went for a drive.. guess who met me at the stop light... none other than this guy.

So I hit the highway in search of some relief from all these tempting images and thoughts. But alas I was overpowered again By this little beauty..

This billboard was screaming at me... it's only $1, just this once wont hurt, every body's doing it, no one will know.... We'll I'm sorry billboard on I-15 northbound.. I refuse to give in to your delicious temptations!! The only thing that makes me want to go break this resolution and chug a liter of Coca-cola, is actually seeing it in person.. at a restaurant, or in the vending machines at school...

Ice cold and delicious... I can't wait to consume you again in 333 days!! Until then, I hope you miss me too!!

Date Night

Last night, Jordan and I, went bowling at Fat Cats. It is seriously a riot.

The black light totally sets up the fun atmosphere..

mix that with dance moves and crazy pop music and your eyes are in for a treat!!

The place was packed full, but the wait was only 30 min! So we put our names

on the waiting list, and hopped on over to.......

Which is conveniently located in the same building! What a good idea!

We invited a few friends to come along. Jordan set up one of his mission

buddies with another one of his friends on a blind date.

The food was so delicious, I always get the same thing..

Smothered pork burrito with black beans and rice..its the only way to go!!

I've been bowling with Alex before, shes so fun to watch.

I'm a terrible bowler(in real life and on the Wii),

and of course I lost both games.

(Causing my team to loose the wager)

But it was so worth it to see Alex and her bowling stance..

the group next to us was entertaining as well.

A girl in their party fell down the bowling lane. She was such a good

sport about it, she laughed it off giving high 5's to everyone who saw it happen.

It was such a good night!

Get them OUT!!

February just happens to be my favorite month of the entire year!! for more reasons than one. This February is jam packed with wonderful activities! First on the list..
Wisdom teeth removal. Now I've been reading about these blasted things in my mouth and I'll share a little knowledge with ya. First of all... to crack the myth, you do NOT get less intelligent after you've had these teeth removed. They are called wisdom teeth because they tend to surface during your teen/young adult years aka.. age of wisdom. I've thought for a while that if my wisdom teeth never bother me, why get them out at all... well,this is why.. Our mouths are full of bacteria.. (I saw it under the microscope in biology today.. DISGUSTING). When a wisdom tooth breaks the surface of your gums, bacteria can slide on down and cause a painful infection in your gums and the crown of that big bad tooth! (This doesn't sound like fun at all! and if this does happen to you, they make you get those teeth out asap anyway.. so why go through the wisdom teeth removal and the hassle of infection.) Secondly, it can destroy molar number 2!! this had me worried, I like my pearly whites and want them to stay as healthy as possible. PLUS, most people don't even have enough room in their mouth for all these extra teeth.

Here is a picture of how these teeth can grow in.. If they grow in on the Angular position they can defiantly cause damage to your molar #2. (not good). If they Partially erupt, this is that high infection risk I was talking about earlier. If they come in horizontally, I cant even imagine what a pain that would be, I feel sorry for anyone who has to experience that! But lucky for me, mine are coming in Vertically, and haven't shined through the lovely gum surface yet.. this means its prime time to yank those puppies out!! and I have even more fantastic news.. I've only got 2 wisdom teeth, both on the bottom! I've taken the entire 4 day weekend off from work to recover from this mild and standard procedure and its going to be fabulous! Besides who wouldn't want a weekend full of these..... Mmmmm..

I'm trying to look on the bright side, because I'm actually kind of nervous!

Sleeping Babes

This was a really random thought I had the other day. I remember when Jaxon was born. I was 12 years old. I always remember holding him when he was falling asleep, there was nothing more tender and relaxing than that. But there is something about a sleeping babe that makes you sleepy too! I think sleepiness is contagious! Jaxon and I were on a drive home from St.George one morning and he was so sleepy he fell right to sleep, in a pink GIRL blanket!! (he must have been completely exhausted to do that). The drive rapidly became a bore and I was uber sleepy, Jax shared his sleepy disease with me... But we made it alive!
Working and being a full time, (recently dedicated) student wears me out! I work from home and its fantastic! Some days Torey comes in and sits next to me to chat. It great, but our chats always end like this.....

Torey falls asleep and I sit and listen to her snore. I'm completely jealous every time it happens!! Its awful, and it makes me sooo tired. So to get back at her for sleeping right in front of me when she knows I'm exhausted, I've decided to post these pictures of her snoozing.. I'm telling ya, sleepiness is contagious!

New years Resolutions

I don't know about anyone else out there, but I have a hard time sticking to a resolution for a whole year. My list usually ends up looking like the picture above. A list of things I know i need to change but don't want to. Or things I want to start but don't allow allotted time, thus leading to a unaccomplished goal. (I'll be the first to tell you that not accomplishing something brings me down and makes me sad inside.) So I decided to do something a little different that I hope will lead to more success this year. I've decided to set up my yearly resolutions in a vague format. Then I've broken them down into very specific monthly goals.

Example: One of my resolutions is to set up my retirement fund: obviously this is one that I want to accomplish as soon as possible. So my January goal is finish reading my book all about 401k's and make a decision about what type of 401k or Roth IRA I want to set up. And my February goal is to execute this plan on an intellectual level!

This whole monthly goals thing probably isnt a revolutionary idea,but if it is and I'm the last one to catch on, I don't care, I just hope it works better than last year!

Glad that's over with.

Okay first off, my life is finally back to normal! Back to working 1 job and going to school full time and the social life is back. I'm so happy with where I'm at. Working 2 jobs during the holiday season was so hard! Managing my time was difficult, but I learned so much in the process. I feel like i should share my feelings and get them off my chest.

(For all of my Apello co-workers who follow this blog, no need to worry, this isn't talking about you or anyone we work with for that matter, its simply directed to my former seasonal employer)

#1 People are more important than things. (Employees are people too!)
#2 Communication is a 2 way street, because it is so, it can save people from a lot of embarrassment when preformed properly on both ends! LISTENING is part of the process.
#3 Just because you smile when you say something rude.. that doesn't mean you can get away with being unfair and rude. Especially when everyone knows your faking it and your a prideful.... [inset favorite curse word here]!
#5 People make mistakes its natural and something EVERYONE does, Including you! I have enough mistakes of my own, do NOT pass yours onto me!

Whew.. now that that's out on the table......HAPPY NEW YEAR EVERYONE!!
