Use of Coloring Pages & Clip Art

A lot of us use different types of rubber or acrylic stamps as images when we are making cards. We also search online for digital stamps which are sometimes cheaper and take up much less space the craft room.

Have you ever tried using coloring pages or clip art for your cards? Clip art images and coloring pages are easy to use, make wonderful cards and best of all, they are free to use (Make sure they are Royalty-free). There are thousands of images online and can be a great source if you’re looking for something different for your card, scrapbook page or paper crafts. For those who are into Copics, coloring pages are good images to practice on, since they are not as detailed as some of the rubber and acrylic stamps. Here are a few cards I made using coloring pages I found online.

I used colored pencils and gamsol on all my cards.
Many websites offer free clip art, as long as you are using it for non-commercial purposes.

Happy Anniversary PS!

Platinum Scraps is celebrating our one year anniversary together! I have learned so much from the designers over there and am too happy to be a part of a great team! Our challenge this week was to make our creations with an anniversary theme in mind. Of course, those PS artists went to town on their ideas.... I made a candle decoration.

This is relatively easy. I wrapped a Glade Oil candle with vellum & a printed transparency. I used dazzle stickers in the front. I layered them with pop up tape to give the 3d effect.

Heavenly

Over at Platinum Scraps, the challenge this week was to use Bo Bunny's Gypsy paper in a layout. This is a simple layout with pictures the fam took at Christmas. Since I have two leaving the nest this year, I wanted to get pictures of us together one last time. Who knows when I'll be able to get them together again. The photo shoot was fun and very special to me......I can't wait to show off a few more of the pics to you! TFL...

To My Friend

Hello and Happy New Year! Any resolutions? Are you sticking to them? I didn't make any....there's no need! I'm pretty happy with how I'm living right now and I don't want to jump on the New Resolution band wagon without really having something in my life I want to change.....


So, here's another submission for this week's Platinum Scraps Challenge. I made this card using Bo Bunny's Gypsy paper - Saffron line. I tried my hand at watercolor markers. All the You Tube videos and tutorials on web make this kind of coloring fun and relaxing.....I'll probably do some more coloring to get the hang of it :-) TFL...
