It's Official!

It's official, my camera is dead! It died a couple of days ago and I was so devastated. Then by some miracle it came back to life, right when I was ready to throw it in the trash. I was so happy. Today on our stroll to the gardens we whipped out the camera to take a picture of Lincoln wearing his shorts on his head in place of a hat, and the camera had for sure kicked the bucket. I'm so sad!

So here is my last picture for the Photo Challenge:
Lincoln has become so spoiled, ever since family has arrived he has been held THE ENTIRE TIME...so this is him in his swing, which he used to enjoy, being sad and wanted to be held. Little Stinker.

Day 2: Tan the Man! An ode to Tanner.

Tanner...what a good brother he is to Preston. He has sacrificed both his time and sleep to help Preston at the house from dawn until dusk. Tanner is definitely one of my favorites.

Funny Tanner Quotes:

"My favorite thing to do is watch EFY girls."
"I love college! All the girls are so hot!"
"At last! I get to see the inner workings of the LDS woman."

Did I mention what an amazing Uncle he is? He feel asleep in a chair at a department store with Lincoln. So funny! I wanted to take a picture, but didn't have my camera.

These are the clothes he's been wearing for two weeks!
Another funny Tanner story:
"I was right by where EFY has their dances and I saw all the cute girls, but then I realized I looked like crap and smelled like it too...so I ran away."

Tanner you Rock!

Tanner, you really are the man!

Day 1: Stop and smell the flowers! Life is good, life is beautiful.

I'm in the photo challenge Drea! Better late than never right?

We made these at Enrichment last night. Thanks Katie! I think mine turned out pretty good. I'm still getting the hang of flower arranging.

My Orchid is doing so well. I'm so proud of myself, because orchids are one of the hardest plants to grow. It is flowering like crazy.

The leaves at the bottom of the orchid are so interesting. Don't you think?

Sorry Readers for my moment of bitterness. Attitude is everything, so I'm changing mine.

It's almost done...and I hate people.

Ok, so the house is close to completion and I'm so sick of thinking about it I could puke. It has taken over our lives and Preston and I joke that once it's done we won't even want to move in. I don't know when we will be in, and I really don't wont' to speculate either...so I'll keep you posted.

The hardwood floors are looking awesome and I really love my sparkly flip flops! The bedrooms are tan and the bathrooms are yellow (There isn't any yellow posted).

Well, as you can see the walls are blue, it was a little scary to try such a bold color, but I think it has turned out well. You can also see the Wayne's coat and the trim that Preston created. He did an excellent job.

The yellow (which is not pictured), I'm not so sure about, but my mother-in-law is an interior decorator and promises me that it will look fabulous once all is said and done.
The funny thing is that I just had a conversation with my sister Andrea about how I don't really love yellow, and one of the colors that warms up a blue is yellow. So we will actually have quite a bit of yellow in our home.

My mother-in-law and I have already bought yellow pillows and various other things to put in the house once it is completed.
So...I guess I will have to start to like yellow.

And for the "I hate people" comment I really wish my friend Shauna was here with me so I could vent to her about how I hate people, and she would laugh and then I would get over it. So watch out, I am in no mood to please or be polite.

P.S. At the risk of sounding too bitter I will take my sister's advice and say what I am grateful for.

I'm grateful for dumb people, because without them I wouldn't know how smart and well put together I am. :)

Busy, Busy, Busy!

I hate leaving my blog unattended, but life has been crazy busy! Don't worry loyal readers, I'll post more interesting things tommorrow. Just thought I'd let everyone know why a week has gone by without any news. :)

Burgers or Boogers...wait, what?

On a day much like today Everett and his mother were driving down the road. They were on a mission to fill their empty fridge. Their conversation was as such:

Everett- I love burgers!
Mom- You love burgers? Me to!
Everett- I love to eat them!
Mom- Me too, aren't they so yummy?
Everett- Yeah.

Silence...

Everett- I'm eating burgers right now.
Mom- You are? Me too.

(Mom pretends to take a bite out of an invisible burger)

Everett- Yummy!

(Mom smiles to herself, and then glances in the rear view mirror to see Everett take a large, and I might add slimy substance from his nose.

Mom- Everett don't eat your boogers! That's yucky!
Everett- No...their yummy.
Everett- I like burgers!

Boys, gotta love em'.

Coffession of a Clean Freak.

I love to clean. I love to have my house clean, and to tell you the truth I'm a little OCD. I find joy in taking care of my things and I think when you have a clean house it helps in keeping your things nice.

Now for the confession:
I have not been my cleaning OCD self lately. Partly because I have Lincoln now, and we are still adjusting to our new life. And partly because Preston is not here to lend an extra hand. The confession is that I'm coming to terms with my house being untidy (not dirty and gross, just untidy. I thought I'd clarify that) and I'm not freaking out about it.

Now don't get me wrong. I want a clean house, that's a given, but I want to be able to enjoy my life. I want to be able to live in our home. I think that when you are freaking out too much about making a mess, you're not really living in your home. Your always cleaning up and always stressing out. At least that's how my life was before Lincoln.

Now, during the day we live, and at night my OCD self comes out and I clean like crazy. And then the next day we do it all over again. I'm grateful for this new found freedom. I'm grateful to treasure the important things in life. Like coloring and painting and getting all the animals out to make a zoo. Playing to the fullest and not cleaning up while my child is playing.

Ahh, it feels good.

Little Rascal... I caught Everett drinking out of the carton. Gross. At least he was at the table.

A Monkey and his brother. Lincoln's so cute.

P.S. I decided not to go private with my blog. Thanks for voting and thanks for the email addresses. Sorry if it was inconvenient for you. I was throwing the idea out there. At least I can get in contact with you now. :)

I will be going private with my blog. Send me your email addresses. I'll leave this post up for a couple of days and then I'll go ahead and make the change. Thanks...Now if I can only figure out how to make my blog private. :)

If you know and would tell me that would be greatly appreciated.

P.S. Look at the Poll to your right and vote, but still give me your email addresses. Ha, Ha, Ha.

Hate...it's a strong word.

OK, so have you ever been so excited about something, because it has all these possibilities, that you want it so bad, that you spend all your time dreaming and thinking about it? Then you decide to get it, and it's so wonderful at first.

Then all of the sudden it starts to take away other things that you love. For example, running with your friends, sewing, embroidering, sleeping, your energy, your money, and most importantly...your husband.

I'm talking about our house.

Every time I go over there I began to loathe it...almost to hate it, but hate is a strong word. Sometimes I guess the grass isn't greener on the other side. If for some mysterious reason our house burns to the ground and we collect the insurance for it and buy an ALREADY BUILT HOME...it wasn't me.

No, that's not a beast...that's my son!

Ok ok, so the kid needs a haircut!

The dry look-

The wet look-

Little boys will not hold still for haircuts, or at least my little boy won't. I think little boys have two types of haircuts. The military look...with the buzzed head, or the shaggy "I look like a beast" look. I guess there can be some middle ground, but that requires rope and lots of candy.

We've got the beast look down, I'm not sure if I'm up to the other two options.
Any thoughts?
