Easter

Easter was different this year, that's for sure!  This is the fourth easter that Jared and I have been married, the last three we went to church, maybe had a ham dinner, watched a movie and went to bed...we're really exciting people!  But this year we actually got to do some traditional things with Chase!  It wasn't a huge thing, I had to work the night before, but we had a good time.  We set up a mini easter egg hunt inside, there was still snow outside (I love Idaho), and Chase figured out right away that there was candy inside the eggs.  He got to the first one, dropped his bucket, opened the egg and tried to drink the candy out of it.  It was so fun to watch, and plus he was saying, "mmmm, mmmm, mmmm" over and over and over again.  I finally just set him up in his highchair with some jellybeans and a peep (he did not like the peep) and he went to town.  He loved it, and he was so wound up from the sugar that he ran around the house like a crazy man and wouldn't take a nap!

Thanks Dad for the outfit, it's perfect, we're missing the pants in these pictures, we were hoping he'd take a nap, so we put him in pajamas, wishful thinking!

We're so grateful for the opportunity we have to celebrate Easter and remember our Savior and his amazing gift of the atonement.  I had the wonderful blessing (ha!) of speaking in sacrament today and I am so grateful for the opportunity I had to remember the Savior and to strengthen my testimony of the atonement.  I know this gospel is true, and I know that if we follow its teachings we will be able to live with our Heavenly Father and Jesus Christ for eternity.  I am so excited for that and I am so excited to be with my family for eternity!

The Wii

Jared and I bought ourselves a Wii for our anniversary last year, and we have loved it! It's amazing how sore you can be after a few rounds of boxing! Well, we thought that Chase would be able to use when he was older, but the other day he wanted to play really bad! So we set him up with tennis, and he was actually able to play! He can serve the ball, and if he's lucky, hit it back. It's really cute to watch! We have him playing against himself, so he wins every time! Chase loves it so much that there is always a huge tantrum when it's time to turn the Wii off. It's amazing how fast they grow up!

Spoon!

I've been trying to work with Chase lately on using a spoon to eat.  He does really well if you hold his hand around the spoon and help him get the food and bring it to his mouth.  Well today, I decided that he does so well with help that I thought he could do it on his own.  Dinner was BBQ pork, mashed potatoes and salad; good combination for learning how to use a spoon all by yourself.  So I set Chase of up with his dinner.  At first he didn't quite know what to do, but then he just went to town!  I was so proud of him!  The only thing is that he hasn't quite figured out that you're suppose to use the spoon part, not the handle, to feed yourself.  We have some work to do, but Chase if very proficient at feeding himself with the handle of a spoon.  That's my boy!

The Adventures of Chase

So Chase had a few new adventure this week, we thought we'd share them all with you.  First of all, I didn't feel like cooking one night, so Chase fell victim to Top Ramen.  The only thing is, he loved it!  He couldn't shove the noodles into him mouth fast enough!  Now we'll have to monitor his Top Ramen intake, we don't want him to gain any excessive weight, Jared and I can barely carry him as he is!

Yesterday was a fun day for Chase and I as well.  Fist of all he pulled out a chair and climbed up on the table and stole an apple out of the fruit bowl.  Now this apple was just a little over ripe, wrinkling and all.  But he was having fun, so I let him play with it.  Next thing I know it sounds like he's licking it.  That was all fine and dandy, but on closer inspection, Chase actually ate half of the apple!  He loved it!  Now before this I had spent a lot of time, slicing apples and peeling the skin off of them.  No more, I tell you!  From now on he gets a whole apple!  

So I decided that I really needed to try to do activities that he would enjoy and that are new.  We usually just play around the house all day and either go on a walk to the mailbox or go the grocery store.  (But the snow is melting, so soon the Park will be our new best friend!)  So, I decided to let Chase finger paint.  I know, dangerous.  But the paints I have are washable and non-toxic, a must for Chase.  He didn't really know what to think at first, I had to get him started, but then he wouldn't stop!  And then he found his mouth!  Now I can't imagine that finger paint tastes all that good, but Chase liked it, as you can tell in the picture.  So after finger painting it was off to an immediate bath.  Some of my friends at work told me that their children love bubble baths.  Well being the neglectful mother that I am, Chase had never had a bubble bath.  So after finger painting, Chase had his first bubble bath.  He loved it too!  Now I didn't have any kid's bubble bath, just my bath and body works stuff, and needless to say there was a lot of bubble eating going on!  Hopefully Chase doesn't get too bad of a tummy ache from his adventures!
