Tyler's first Football game of the 2017 Season

Tyler had his first football game of his 8th grade year today.  We played in Helper.  The first three minutes was pretty scary because Helper scored 13 points in that time while we did nothing.  After that and the rest of the game they figured it out and played really well after that.  Tyler plays safety

on defense and wide receiver on offense.  He even got to play quarterback the last few minutes of the game today.  He caught a pass for the extra points and ran the ball a couple times when he was quarterback.  They were about to get another touchdown but took a knee instead.  We ended up winning 27-13! Tyler is number one.  He has yellow cleats which makes it really easy to find him when he is out playing. 

They have 19 8th graders playing football this year and they are all pretty good player so it should be a really fun year.  Mason is being the water boy for the team since they won't let 6th graders play, they can only practice with the team. 

First Day of School!

It seems like this might be a good time to start back up doing my blog, at least then I have something written down. 

So the kids are headed out the door for the first day of school. 

Drake is going in to First grade!  He has been so excited to go the full day, mostly so he can take a lunch.  His teacher this year is Ms Lee.  Both the boys have had her as a teacher and really liked her so it should be a great year.

Elly will be in the third grade.  She has Mrs. Tuttle for everything but one class and Mrs. Jones will teach that.

Mason is going into 6th grade.  This year they have moved the 6th grade to the junior high and changed it to a middle school.  His class will be the first group to go through the whole middle school.  Mason is excited for this change.  He is glad they get to have PE all year which should help since they don't get recess anymore.  He has to ride the bus to and from school so everything is different for him this year.  It should be interesting to see how it goes. 

Tyler is going in to 8th grade this year.  Since they are a middle school now instead of a junior high he is now the oldest at the school.  He is pretty excited about that and so am I.  I'm sad that this is his last year before high school because that means he is growing up to fast.  He is doing football again this year and is loving it.  I'm curious to see how it really goes.  Tyler is now taller than me and so excited about it.

So now the kids are gone and its just the two of us all day long.  The first day we were both so tired because Kenyan is the WORST sleeper at night. The second day we started having fun together.  We have done a bike ride, walk, rode the scooter, swung in the swing, mowed the lawn and ate popsicles together.  Its also been nice when he naps to get a few things done that I am way behind on.

Mostly I'm just having fun with the craziest, wildest and funniest kid.  He jabbers all day at me like I understand him when I really have no idea what he is talking about most of the time, hopefully he starts talking for real soon.  He makes me laugh! He is the most stubborn kid I've ever had so I'm hoping I survive that.

For now we are just hanging out, having fun and seeing how it goes.

Eclipse

I wasn't even going to watch the eclipse because I hadn't gotten any of the glasses you needed to do it but a friend of mine told me the library had them so I ended up taking the kids down to the library to watch it.  They thought it was pretty neat!  It would have been really neat if we were in the right area where it actually got almost dark.  If you were outside where we were you probably wouldn't have even noticed anything was happening.  It mostly looked like the sun had just gone behind a cloud.

The kids all just hung out on the grass and watched it go past.

Our week in Cokeville

The kids have been so excited for the end of July to come so we could go to Cokeville and see our cousins.  We were able to go this time for the 24th since we didn't have a baseball tournament. 

We spent time helping Camille’s kids build their fort on their land where they will someday build a house. 

The kids spent lots of time outside playing with their cousins. 

The kids made an American ninja warrior course for everyone to do and get timed on, some of the adults even got in on the action. 

Kenyan and Hawken mostly just hung out in the dirt pile and got really dirty but had lots of fun. 

The kids had fun playing board games until late at night and during the day. A

Kenyan loved riding on these toys Camille had in her house. 

One night we tried to make s’mores with a candle, which didn’t work great but it was ok. 

They also spent one day doing tricks and jumping off of the roof at Camille’s House.

Elly was so excited when she finally dared to do a back flip off the house onto the trampoline. 

One of the days while we were there we took lochlyn, Gracie and Tyler up to the star valley temple and had them do baptism. It was pretty neat! On our way in we ran in to my dads brother, uncle Chad and his wife Susie. 

One night when the big kids decided to sleep up at the fort we wee building the little kids thought they would have a sleepover outside in the tent. These three girls didn’t last!

The kids pretty much just played in the water outside!  They had fun teasing each other and trying to dunk each other. 

They played some serious games of kickball which makes it so someone is always crying. Our family is very competitive!

One of the kids favorite things we did was rent a boat at Bear Lake!  We took over paddle boards and kayaks which the kids loved!  They played in the sand and ate lots of treats!  Ryan and Jamie came with their kids too!

While we waited for our turn to rent the boat the kids all had fun just jumping off the boards over and over.

When it was time to go and we had got everything cleaned up it was so pretty!

All our group that went to the lake!  I didn’t get pictures of us out on the boat because I didn’t want to take my camera out in the water. Camille got a bunch of pictures of that. The boat was big enough we all got to go out at the same time so that was really nice. We had so much fun!  The kids love riding the two different tubes!  

We had a great week in Cokeville hanging out and making memories with cousins!  We love when we can go spend time with them!
