Memorial Day Weekend

This past weekend was a good one but emotional.  Steve's Grandmother was dying and so he decided he should take his mom to visit with her.  They left first thing on Saturday morning.  Steve was able to say goodbye and was the last person that she spoke to before she went to sleep and died peacefully in the night.  He was very thankful that he had that moment with her.  Her funeral will be this Saturday and Steve has been asked to be one of the pallbearers.  He is greatly honored.

Saturday The kids and I went to see Night at the Museum 2.  It was a lot of fun and the kids loved it.  We then went to Ryans which is a buffet restaurant.  The kids loved being able to eat whatever they wanted and everyone is always happy to have the soft serve ice cream at the end.  

Sunday-Right now Sundays are an adventure.  We are out of our normal building because it is being expanded.  We have to go to the stake center and meet with the Harpers Ferry Ward.  It is hard to try and mesh two groups of people together anyway, but then add a 40 minute drive and have it from 3-6pm it makes it even more interesting.  

Monday-Everyone was worn out from the other two days.  Todd had a concert in the morning and then the rest of the day was open.  Steve of course got up and mowed the lawn and then headed to Home Depot.  He got two new bushes to replace the ones that didn't make it through the winter.  He spent the rest of the day outside planting them with two little helpers.  They all came in filthy, but happy.  Hannah and I went and did the most dreaded of all female things (no not our annual physical) Swimsuit shopping.  We didn't find anything, but came home with cookies so not all was lost.  We then finished the day with a BBQ.  Steak and corn on the cob.  YUM!!  After a late evening of movie watching we all went to bed.  

Tuesday morning really came too early.  Only 8 days of school left.  YEAH!

Update to Girls Weekend

Hannah and I had open ended possiblities for the weekend so I left it up to her.  We have some friends who also only have one girl and three boys so we decided to get together with them.  Hannah got to pick the restaurant...soo... we ended up going to.....IHOP.  I just kind of had to laugh and remember that she is still only 10.  We then went back to our friends house and did cable on demand.  We ended up watching High School Musical 3.  It was kind of an ordinary night, but it was special because we got to spend it together.  We were still in bed when the boys came home the next morning loud, smelly, and filthy.

This weekend is the father and son camp out.  It is kind of fun because I have four boys and it leaves only Hannah and I.  We still haven't decided what we are going to do but it will be something girly.  I was contemplating getting our nails done, but I will have to check the movies and see if there is something (age appropriate of course) that would be fun to see with just Hannah and I.  I also like that I will not have to be in charge of dinner tonight.  I wish that there was an Olive Garden close by so that Hannah and I could enjoy a good dinner.  I will update again once we have decided.  What fun!

Mother's Day Movie review

Over this past weekend I saw three different movies.  On Friday Steve took the day off and we met his family to go and see Star Trek.  It was completely and totally enjoyable especially if you know anything about Star Trek.  Even Seth sat through it though when Steve asked what his favorite part of the movie was he said the Bumblebee part.  (There was a preview for the new Transformer movie)  We then came home and played tennis and then went on what we refer to as a Walmart date.  (You know the one where you leave the kids at home, but then just go to Walmart and get groceries for the weekend)  We stopped at Redbox and got "The Day the Earth Stood Still"  If you haven't seen then I will consider you one of the lucky ones.  It was cliche and tedious.  

Saturday came and we spent the better part of the day just kind of lounging and taking kids to the various activities that they had.  In the evening Steve informed me that he was taking me out.  I don't have an aversion to that so we went and saw Wolverine.  I really enjoyed this movie.  I love the X-Men movies.  The only thing that was missing was I like all of the characters and their different powers and this movie was mostly just about Logan.  It was cool to see how everything fit together with this movie and then the

 subsequent movies.  

  On Mother's Day Steve and the kids made pancakes and then we packed a picnic lunch and went to the park for a picnic.  We are out of our church building right now while it is being expanded.  We have to use the Stake Center and so we don't have church until 3.  After our picnic we came back

 home and changed for church.  

Overall it was a great weekend.
