Merry Christmas

Dear Family and Friends,

This Christmas "letter" was mostly a ploy to get you all to look at our adorable kids. Merry Christmas.

Alright, just kidding. I suppose some of you would like to know more about what's happening in our lives. (We randomly switch who is writing so good luck).
Frank is currently half-way through law school at Wake Forest University. And before you ask… no, he doesn't know which kind of law he wants to practice (unless he can find a branch of law dedicated solely to World of Warcraft).
Jill is cute. And obsessed with knowing everything about the random things she encounters everyday. (Every example I've tried to write she keeps editing out. So … make up the most odd thing you can think of. She's probably spent at least 20 minutes at some point reading about it online).
Joseph's life revolves around balls, trucks, and movies. Did I say movies? Hmmm…. Oh yeah, they are called "Wies." You know… like Moo-Wie. Joseph is a very sweet kid. He is always getting toys for Derek and hugging Derek when he gets hurt or gets in trouble. Unless, of course, they are both getting in trouble (Like when Joseph and Derek emptied about a dozen bottles of nail polish on our bathroom rugs, walls, and towels last week). It is not unusual to hear Joseph say, "no, no, no, Der!" while shaking his finger at Derek for the mess that Joseph helped make.
Derek is finally sub-human. He knows what he wants and he can communicate it. He is also much better at throwing tantrums in a way that actually makes one feel sympathetic. Not that he gets what he wants, he just makes us feel a little bit more guilty not giving it to him. (And makes Jill worry that I'll be a softy that gives in to the whims of any girls we may have someday). Derek may even be more stubborn than Jill, too. Now isn't that scary?

Bedtime Miracle

The oddest thing happened this evening. Frank put pajamas on the kids (no, that's not the odd part.) and a little bit later Joseph came up to me wanting to sing some songs. I'm ok with that so we sing the spider song and book of mormon stories. Then he folds his arms and says, "prayer, Mom". No arguring with that. He then grabs my hand and says come on; we go to his room and read a few books. Then he gets in bed. (that's the odd part in case you didn't notice) and so now it's 8:03 and my kids have been in bed for 20 minutes and they put themselves there.
