My Favorite Time of the Year

Last night, Sadie and I (Charlie was at work) went to see the fireworks in South Ogden with some of my family members. This was the first fireworks display we have gone to this year and it got me very excited for the upcoming Fourth and Twenty-Fourth of July celebrations. I love the parades, the carnivals and most of all, the fireworks! Sadie also loves the fireworks which is nice. She "oohed" and "aahed" over them last night. She liked being able to point out what color each one was. It was a spectacular night!

Today was Charlie's day off and we took full advantage of it! We went to the dollar theater in Sugarhouse and saw "Horton Hears a Who." It was a cute show and Sadie really liked it. It was hilarious to watch her reactions to the funny parts in the show, she has started doing this hysterical laugh when other people are laughing. It was three bucks well spent!
We decided to eat dinner outside on the patio and Sadie enjoyed the spaghetti. Her hands and face were covered in sauce. She is quite a messy eater.
I had made cupcakes earlier and recruited Sadie to help me put the sprinkles on after I had frosted them. Well, that arrangement lasted about two minutes. Sadie quickly decided that she needed to be in charge of both frosting and sprinkling.

Donating Blood = Mary's Going D-O-W-N!!!

This past Sunday was our first time in our new ward. There was a sign-up sheet for a blood drive, so Charlie and I signed up thinking it would be a good way to support our new ward. Well, Charlie was supportive. I was too busy puking my guts out. It was just an excellant way to meet and visit with people from our ward. "Hi, I'm Mary Johnson, excuse me while I stick my head in this bag and throw up my lunch." I started out feeling great but slowly starting to feel sick. I thought I was going to pass out and fall right out of the chair. It was horrible!

Oh, what an experience! One of the best of my life and such a great first impression. I guess in the end, it was all worth it. I was able to finish donating and hopefully it will be able to help someone. I will just send Charlie to any future blood drives.

Back to Blogging

It seems like it has been F-O-R-E-V-E-R since my last blog post. We have been so busy with moving and getting settled that my blogging has been lacking. Anyways, we are finally in Salt Lake! It is such a relief to be here but also a bit stressful. For the most part, we are still living out of boxes. We had so much stuff to move and we are now trying to find somewhere to cram it. We are loving our new little house, it totally feels like "home." We have an awesome FENCED backyard with a gnormous garden area and hot tub. The house is older but it has lots of character and personality. Sadie seems to be adjusting well, as long as she has her Princess movies, she is good with anything. We are in the Foothill area of Salt Lake right by the University of Utah. It is beautiful here, we live right across from a nice park with walking and biking trails. We are so excited to be here and are looking forward to all this city has to offer. Charlie starts his new job next Sunday, he has been driving to Ogden for the past week, not good on our gas budget! He will still be working for the State of Utah as a counselor, he is just at a different facility. I am sure he will do wonderful things there and will learn new concepts that will help him in Graduate School.
I will post some pictures of the house when things have settled down a bit more, I am sure no one wants to see pictures of boxes and junk.
I also wanted to thank all of you who bought some of my crafts, it helped tons with the move. As soon as things are less hectic here, I will start cranking out new crafts and fun vinyl ideas.
