Annual Ewing Christmas Party

Every Monday before Christmas we get together with the Ewing family (41+ people) for a Christmas Party. This year was nice because the Egan's were able to join the family for the festivities (they are from Oregon and usually come down after Christmas). It was fun, and the kids had a blast. This year Great-Grandma added a new activity for the kids. They frosted and decorated sugar cookies, and Grandma Ewing helped Micaela- they had so much fun together.

Playing in the SNOW!!!

It has snowed alot latey and we have taken advantage of it. Micaela has discovered how much
fun playing in the snow is. She loves to eat the snow and now with Papa's help, we like playing in it too! Papa helped Micaela make a snowman and a moose. But the next day she was calling her moose a reindeer.




How do you make the perfect Snow angel?? You lay down, flap your arms for wings, move your legs side to side and then have Papa lift you up so you don't have to walk in it!!! PERFECT little ANGEL!

HMM...

1. I also HATE to clean bathrooms. As I am sitting here typing, Josh is cleaning the bathrooms because I am going to clean the house tomorrow...ha ha!
2. I like the Broncos, cheer for them and love to go to their home games. But I don't really follow them. There are times people will ask me who they are playing week after week and I am not sure. So really, I am not a very good fan at all. :)
3. If I know what I like at a restaurant, I will order it over and over again. I don't care if its simple as spaghetti, I would rather spend money on something I KNOW I like than waste it on trying something new. Josh hates this about me.
4. I LOVE bread. I could eat bread all day long if I had to.
5. I met Josh at Continental. Here is how we met....He made a comment about the Broncos who lost that very day. I didn't know he was a fan as well, so I told him to "Shut the hell up". Yep, and that got him.
6. I don't really like to cook. I LOVE to bake, but when it comes to cooking I'm not good at it. I am getting better at this because of Micaela, but it has taken me 27 years.
7. I went to College in Rocksprings for 2 years and almost every weekend I would drive back to Kemmerer, my home town, to spend the weekends with my parents. Don't ask me why now, but for some reason being at home with mom and dad sounded like more fun. ??? Shelby and I did have some great wekeends though - huh shelb!

Oh Christmas Tree...

We went to find a tree a few weeks ago and Daddy and Micaela went searching for the perfect tree while mommy and Taylor stayed in the car (it was way too cold). Daddy tried to get her to go for a tree that was taller than he was, but she wasn't having it. She gravitated towards the smaller ones, we tried everything to try to change her mind...but nope she had her mind set. The sales lady even tried, she walked up to Micaela and said..why don't we look at these other trees?? And Micaela knew where she was headed, looked up at Josh and said.."But daddy I want THIS tree". So here is our tree- its very special since it was one that Micaela had her heart set on!!

Loving our little brother

Taylor LOVES when you talk to him, he smiles and talks back. This morning Micaela was talking to him while he was in his swing and he thought it was the best thing ever. He loves his big sister!

2 Month Stats

Man, time flies when you are going crazy. :) We went to Taylor's 2 month appointment yesterday and he weighs 12.5 lbs and is 22 1/2 inches long (that puts him at the 75% in weight and 50% in length). He is a MONSTER! Josh was joking that he REALLY is like his Uncle Brock...ha ha. He had to get his shots, and that was sad. He even screamed his high pitch scream last night before bed because his legs hurt so bad.

I will have to post a pic of him later today :)

Taylor's First Utah game

We went to the Utah vs Oregon basketball game. This was Taylor's first game ever, and he did great. He LOVED all the excitement. He normally doesn't like to just sit on your lap - you usually have to be up walking around or bouncing him. He sat on Josh's lap the whole game and even fell asleep at the end. Lucky for him, he now gets to go to another one :) Micaela enjoyed the treats, I mean game, too.

We are always saying that Taylor looks like my brother, Brock, but how can you not..look at him??!!!

And this one in his cute "skiing" outfit (thanks Brian!!), I was trying to take a few pictures for x-mas cards, but this is the only one that turned out. So Stinkin cute if I say so myself! :)

Happy Thanksgiving!!!

We wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving. We are so thankful for our families and love that we are able to spend this holiday with my parents up in Kemmerer, but we do miss the Ewings and the Salas'!!

I am also very thankful to have 2 happy, healthy, beautiful kids. Here are a few pictures of them the past few days up at Grandma and Grandpa Smalls house. Micaela made Turkey cookies with Grandma..even though Grandma was the only one worried about decorating them, Micaela thought the frosting tasted better on her fingers.

We even got to hang out with Grandma Louise and Papa Red.

I was pregnant with Micaela - that is why I look so big :) It was fun - my parents do this every year with some friends, it was nice to be able to play along.

6 Weeks!!!

Time flies when you are having fun! I can not believe our little boy is already 6 weeks old. Here are a few cute pictures we took this morning. Thanks Tiff for the cute onesie!
This is one of my favorite photos because this is how every day is for us. When Micaela talks, Taylor will turn his head and put all his attention on her. He has done this since the day we brought him home. He loves his big sister and already looks up to her. I'm almost scared to find out the things she'll teach him. :)

Prof Pictures

I know I posted this already, but now I am able to put some of the pictures up. They turned out so well that I already have her booked to do Micaela's 3 yr and Taylor's 3 month pictures. DORA party!!

I thought we would take advantage of my maternity leave and go to Kemmerer for the week. Micaela LOVES Dora...if she could watch it 24/7 she would! So if you didn't know, Nick Jr played a "movie" called Dora Saves the Snow Princess on Monday night. It was playing really late so we taped it and then had a "Dora Party" the following night.

We were going to run to the store (Alco) and get our party items. So when we asked Micaela what we needed for our "party" she gave us her list. Party hats, goody bags, cake, and balloons. When we got to the store, there wasn't too many party items so we got ice cream cones, balloons, and candles. She insisted that we sing her Happy Birthday.

Halloween

Here is a picture of Micaela and Daddy's pumpkin. I found these cute "Mr potato head" pumpkin decorators so instead of carving a pumpkin, Micaela put the Pirate together. They had a great time...you can't tell but Micaela is giving her best pirate imitation and saying ARRGG!

We went trick or treating at Daddy's work and got LOTS of candy. She was the life of the party, instead of saying "trick or treat" she would go to the next person and say "What do you have?" and she could only have 1 of every candy in her bag.

Then later that night we went trick or treating in our neighborhood and at first she was very shy and held my hand the whole time (which I am lucky if I can get her to hold my hand while crossing the street most of the time) But after a while she started running to the next house. Most houses would show her the bowl of candy and say, ok you can pick 2. She would take her time in deciding which 1 she wanted and would only want to pick 1. We came home with another bag FULL of candy.

Here is a picture of our Punkin'. He didn't really get it this year, but he was able to stay home in the warm house and give out candy with daddy. Next year he will enjoy it more!

Another FuN day!

This is a picture of Micaela playing outside. Grandma Debbie bought her this new hat so she HAD to wear it outside "incase it rained". It was a pretty nice day..so she was wearing a red shirt (that had a dog on it) a brown skirt, rainbow socks, keds and the snow hat. Isn't it great when they want to dress themselves? :) What a fashion statement!

Micaela went to a Halloween party last night and was able to dress up in her Witch costume. She had so much fun...she came back hyped up on sugar though. But isn't that what trick or treating is ALL ABOUT??

Pictures!!

We finally got pictures taken of the kids. We were going to go to Kiddie Kandids, but Candice told me about this lady who came to her house and did them for her. She doesn't charge that much and she gives you all the proofs and a CD of all the pictures. She is just starting her business, but she is very professional and has great ideas, so I decided to try her. She came to our house last Saturday and she did an AWESOME job. There are a few pictures of us on her blog that she took...I think they turned out so CUTE! I tried to figure out how to copy those pictures onto my blog, but of course couldn't figure it out. :)

Micaela makes my DAY!!

Micaela always makes me laugh..but I don't think I have laughed this hard in weeks!!! I was writing down a recipe and I looked over and Micaela was talking to her bear...she was saying "oh are you hungry..ok I'll feed you" and lifts up her shirt and proceeds to breast feed her bear just like Mommy does with Taylor. I asked her.."what cha doing Micaela???"..she just looked at me and said matter of factly..."feeding my bear." I was laughing so hard, I almost couldn't take the picture.Right after this she drags me into her room so we could get Tia and Lucy (her dolls) ready to watch the fireworks. She LOVES to watch Max and Ruby and this show only comes on at 430 every day - so we have maybe seen 3 episodes in 4 months. But the one we watched yesterday was about Max and Ruby watching fireworks...she amazes me. Again I was laughing the whole time she set up for the firework show. When we finally sat down she kept saying...oohh look how beauTiful!
I'd also like to add that she likes to play her "music" (her CD's) and then dance around the house singing to them. Which it also amazes me that she knows almost every song and what song is next. Lately she has added that she NEEDS to wear her skirt. So EVERY morning this week she has had to put on a skirt and then play her music. SUCH a girl!

And then for my sweet little boy! I can NOT believe he is 3 weeks old today. Time has went by so fast...before you know it he will be 1. EEK! I will admit that having 2 is NOTHING like I imagined. :) Don't get me wrong, I love being a mommy and love having them both, but it is definitely challenging at times.

Some of you may or may not know my brother..but we think Taylor looks like him! He even has his temper. When he gets mad..he is MAD other than that he's very mellow! Let's just pray he doesn't grow up like Brock. ha ha..love ya Brock.

Taylor Jack

Taylor Jack is FINALLY here! He was born on Oct 3rd at 804, weighing 7 lb 10 oz and 19 1/2 inches long. He was delivered via c section and they have changed the procedures since I had Micaela....and he was in the surgery room until I was ready to go to recovery. It was nice to share the first moments with him. When I had Micaela they shipped her right to the nursery after she was born, and of course Josh went with her. They did show her to me before hand, but then after that I was left to think about what had just happeend while Josh and Micaela were some where else.

When we were all ready to go to recovery, they wheeled us into our room where Micaela, Grandma Debbie and Grandpa Gordon were waiting for us. Micaela was so excited to see her new little brother and wanted to hold him immediatly. She is a great big sister...kissing his forhead whenever she has the chance, telling him she loves him and that she is his big sister.

This is us when we were leaving to go home! Grandma Ewing and Uncle Tucker took her to build a bear and that is where she got Carly the Chettah and her stroller. Each day she came to the hopsital to visit, Carly had to come too.

This has been quite the experience for our family, but we are excited to be the 4 of us. Micaela is adjusting to sisterhood very well..she is very helpful at home - and LOVES being a big sister. Lets just hope that doesn't change as the weeks go by.
