Merry Christmas!

Reindeer Cookies

Today we made Christmas cookies for Shea's office. Only one of my Christmas tree cookies actually turned out to look like a christmas tree. The others just look like big blobs with colored m&ms. At the least the reindeer turned out. Being in the apt without my stuff makes baking a little challenging, so we go for whatever is easiest. W liked the icing as you can tell from it being all over his face!

Super Reader to the Rescue!

If you can't tell, we have quite the imaginary child on our hands. Of course being in this tiny apt forces a child to use his imagination frequently. W was pretending he was a Super Reader (his favorite PBS cartoon at the moment). Who needs toys?!? Just a bath towel and a plastic shield is all you need.

Will and Tyler pose for a picture next to the many reindeer we see almost daily at the shopping center down the street from our apartment. They have these things all over the place sitting on benches and standing on columns.

Merry Christmas, Charlie Brown!

Even though we are away from home this Christmas, we weren't going to let that spoil our holiday. We went out and bought a little tree last night. Will and I had been busy all week making decorations for it (thank goodness for foamie kits). Will had a lot of fun making the angel for the top and all the snowmen. He was really good at stringing all the snowflakes for the garland. What a memorable year for us with this little homemade tree. At least this year we don't have to worry about the cat getting in the tree and knocking it down!

Fun on the Farm

The boys and I just got back from visiting both sets of grandparents. W had a blast riding the tractor, 4-wheeler and easy-go and seeing all the cows with his PawPaw. He had a good time playing with all his cousins. He learned to make obscene noises with his armpit thanks to his cousin Christian. Boys!

Back in NLR, W had a blast in Nana's toy-filled sunroom. The boy has never played by himself so much. I think we all had a good time just being out of the cramped apartment life for an entire week.

Happy Thanksgiving!

Hope all of you have a great Thanksgiving! Since we are not going home, we decided to make the best of a rainy day today and make turkey cookies. As you can probably tell by W's face, he ate about as much as we made. What a mess.... but a fun one! Afterwards, W had fun make-believing he was baking cookies. He even had to give one to T to try.

Will better enjoy being bigger than his brother. Won't be long and Tyler will catch up. As you can see from the picture Tyler is quite the little chunk.

Take ONE Take TWO

FINALLY.....

Our neighbor, Kristen, and her daughter, Bradyn, came over Sunday night to tell us goodbye. Bradyn is like a sister to Will. She made a picture for him to take to Memphis. It brought tears to me and Kristen to watch them say goodbye to each other. Thank goodness it's just temporary and not for good.

We arrived in Memphis on Monday and things are going well. Will thinks it's fun so far. Wonder how long it will take before he starts to miss his friends. I already miss my friends so I hope all of you keep up through this blog. Call and email frequently!

Will has become very helpful around the house. He's gotta be just like Daddy. He has helped Shea mow the past few times - he actually follows him around the entire yard front and back. (Of course, he's always been intrigued by people mowing their yards.) Our neighbors just look at him and chuckle every time. That was the best $5 ever spent on that little mower. Our little CEO

Boo at the Zoo / Pumpkins

This past weekend we went to the zoo for the Halloween party with some of our friends. The kids definitely outnumbered the adults in our group. Of course, Will's 'girlfriend' Elle was there so I had to take a cute picture of them together. We also spent some time together carving pumpkins. This is the first time Shea and I have carved one since we've been married. Shea did a great job on the cat carving!

Go, Dog, Go

The above 'boo-boo' has such a funny story, I just had to share. If you are an avid reader of the famous book Go, Dog, Go like we are at our house, you will get a kick out of this story. The book ends with all the dogs going up the tree, up the tree. What's on top of that tree? A BIG dog party!

Well, the other day, my son was trying to climb the tree in the back yard. I asked him what he was doing and he replied "I go up the tree to the dog party". At that moment, he slid down the tree and his chin scraped the bark. Of course he cried....but I don't know if it's because he scraped his chin or because he didn't make it to the dog party.

Pumpkin Patch

Today we went to Hubers Farm in Starlight, IN. They have a huge pumpkin patch with plenty of things for the kids to see and do. Will loved every minute....Tyler, of course, didn't even know we were there. Will got to ride on a tractor, pick out a pumpkin, ride a pony, shoot apples on a sling-shot in the pond and pet goats. Eventful day for a two year old (and his daddy loved every minute too). PawPaw - you would be proud of the little 'cowboy'. He rode that pony like a pro!

Will earned his Honeybees shirt for Awana a couple of weeks ago. He loves going on Wednesdays. His first verse was "In the beginning, God created the heavens and the earth." Will's version goes more like this:
