Days 28-30: Finishing Up

Day 26 & 27: More Great Grandparents

We went to visit Grandma Parker on Thanksgiving in the nursing home.

On the way back to Boise, we stopped in Twin to see Grandmother.

Day 25: Man Clothes

Ok I have a little catching up to do. Nick and I went to Carter's the other day because they were having a big sale. This was just too cute to pass up. Doesn't he look like a mini-man?

Day 24: The View

Day 23: Carrot Pops

This is my first attempt at making baby food. My mother-in-law gave me a bunch of carrots from her garden and my sister-in-law gave me squash from her garden, and I couldn't let it go to waste.

*In case you were wondering, I did not put food coloring in the bowl of squash to make it neon green. It really is normal-colored squash; I took the picture with my cell phone.

Grandpa thinks it's good fun making babies stand on his hand. He was pumping Ben's legs all weekend to make them stronger. Look at my tough little boy!

Day 14, 15, 16: The Big Ben Show

So I haven't posted any pictures the last couple days, but my excuse is that I've been busy. We had Ben's blessing at church yesterday. ALL of both of our families were there. Every last one of them. That's a total of 31, folks. For those of you who haven't been in my house, that's a pretty tight squeeze. Fortunately, most of them stayed at a nearby hotel. Or a "mow-n-tell", if you ask Emma. But we did have everyone at our house for lunch after church. We set up a few tables in the garage and ate there. I know it sounds kinda trashy, but it worked really well. Here are a few pictures for your enjoyment.

It was a really fun weekend. Nick was nervous about the blessing, I was worried about the food, and Ben thoroughly enjoyed being the star of the show.

Day 5: Great Grandparents

A couple weekends ago we went to Bear Lake so Nick could go hunting. That is kind of a sensitive subject, so I won't tell you about how he shot an elk and tried to track it down but never found it because he isn't a very good shot and can't kill it on the first try.

I will, however, tell you about these pictures. These are two of Ben's great grandparents.

Grandpa Parker used to take Nick hunting and fishing a lot when he was little, so he always has to tell his grandpa about his (failed) adventures.


This is Grandma Jensen. She is so sweet and she just loved this little baby. He was being a little fussy, so she cuddled him and tickled his face and he went right to sleep. Grandmas just have that special touch.

Day 4: My Sweet Ride

We bought a new (well, it's new to me) car in April, but I decided that I needed another new car. This is my brand new 2009 Chevy Tahoe. Pretty sweet right? Ok so if you know even a little bit about my husband, you know that that would never happen - he's too cheap. I mean frugal. Anyways, my car is in the shop getting fixed. It's still under warranty, so they gave me a rental. They were going to give me a little car until I told them I needed something big enough to fit a car seat, so this is what I got.

The plastic cover (or is it glass? I have no idea) on my instrument panel is cracked, so we wanted to get it replaced. Seems pretty simple right? Just take it off and put a new piece in it. Oh no, it can't be that easy. They have to order a whole new instrument panel and replace the whole thing. I had to take my car in the other day so they could see the mileage they needed to order it with, but then I couldn't drive my car and add more miles on so I had to leave it there until they could get the part in and replace it.

Too bad I have to take my Tahoe back this afternoon. It's really fun to drive.

Day 2: Halloween Fun

Ok I'll admit - I really considered posting these on two different days, but I won't. Because even though there are no rules to this game, it still seems like cheating. This year I was really a slacker. I didn't hardly decorate at all for Halloween. But we did manage to at least carve a couple pumpkins. Here are the pumpkins we carved - not to be confused with last year's pumpkins:
As you can see, Ben was not happy about the whole situation. I think he was mad because I only let him use a marker on his pumpkin, not a knife like mom and dad.

I also have a confession - is it bad that I love the way he scrunches up his little face when he cries? I think it is too cute! But don't worry, I don't pinch him or let him cry just so I can see it.

The next day, after he got over his temper tantrum about the knives, I got this cute picture of him with his pumpkin:
I just love this little boy! He is two months old today. And it has gone by so fast! Sometimes it still feels like we just barely got home from the hospital, other times it seems like he's been in our little family forever.

Little side note: I made those green fleece pants he is wearing. And some blue and red ones. Pretty crafty huh!

Day 1: A Picture A Day

I decided to join in on Kim's picture fun this month. So for the great kickoff, I am going to share with you one of my guilty pleasures - Halloween egg nog!

BFFs

Jami and I have been friends for a really long time. We were friends before the age of the digital camera, so I don't have any pictures from our younger years on my computer. Ok so there probably were digital cameras, but neither one of us had one. But this picture is still from several years ago, before either of us had babies, so it counts.


Jami and I were both pregnant at the same time. She was due four weeks before me. Here we are at my baby shower.

This is the first time our little boys met. They soon became fast friends.

Zayne is exactly four weeks older than Ben. We both went three days past our due dates. Two weeks ago we finally got to see each other's babies. Zayne is such a doll. He was so calm and smiley.

They are already planning the mischief they will get into when they are older.

Aren't they just too cute? They are already best friends.

What Happened to Fall?

Earlier this week, it was over 90 degrees. Two days later, it freezes. What's the deal?

Other big news - my baby is 4 weeks old! And one day, actually. Man how time flies. I feel like I spend all day feeding him. But he's a growing boy, so I guess it's a good thing. Except I don't get anything else done during the day. Oh is it worth it though. He is just so sweet. He's starting to talk a little. I love watching him change every day.
