Go Cougars!

Yesterday we went to the BYU vs. University of Buffalo basketball game. We went early to hang out and have dinner with our good friends the Damstedts. Then they kept James and Megan and Eric and I were able to take Annie and Cameron to the game. It was fun to dress in our BYU shirts and go cheer on the Cougars. We had a great time and it was a fun game to watch.

 

 

 

 

Happy Birthday Cameron!

On Monday Cameron turned 5. He had a great day! We invited all the boys his age that live around here for a little party. They started off playing outside for a little while. Cameron loves to play in the snow. Then they came in for hot chocolate and cake and ice cream. After that Eric played some batman games with the kids. Cameron was a very happy boy!

Merry Christmas!

This has been a very enjoyable holiday season. Our children are at such a fun age that everything we have done for Christmas has brought so much joy and laughter. From the elf on the shelf (thanks Matt and Camie) to turns sleeping with the Christmas blanket to see their faces light up on Christmas morning (an early Christmas morning). I am sad that it is coming to a close. Luckily we have a birthday to celebrate tomorrow! Happy Birthday Cameron!

 

 

 

 

Christmas Eve

We hosted Christmas Eve this year and invited our friends, the Rogers and Jurgensmeiers over. We had a delicious dinner. Then we had the kids act out the nativity. Annie was Mary, Cameron was the donkey, James was Joseph, and Megan was an angel. It was so cute! Then we let each of the children perform for the program. Annie read a story that she had written about going to the Garden Factory, Cameron did a story about a monster truck (that is what Colby did) while singing Jingle Bells. Megan sang the cutest version on Rudolph. After some treats we ended the night by lighting candles and singing carols.

 

 

 

 

Bowling

On Christmas Eve morning we went bowling with two other families. The first year that we lived in Rochester we didn't go home for Christmas because Cameron was born on the 27th. A family in the ward (the Johnson's) went bowling on Christmas Eve morning and invited us to go. Last year when we were here we decided to try it out again and had a great time. I think it might become a fun tradition for our family. The kids love it and it gives us something to get out of the house for.

Preschool Santa

Santa and Mrs. Claus came to visit and Cameron and Megan's preschool. We sang Christmas songs and each preschool child received a really nice gift. Megan got a my little pony and Cameron got a monster truck. Cameron was the last one to get his present and he was so sweet to ask all of the other kids what they got. He is a sweet boy!

 

 

 

Gingerbread houses

On Wednesday, December 15th, Whipple Park had a party to make gingerbread houses. The kids had a great time making and eating their creations.

 

 

 

Santa

On Saturday we went to the Garden Factory to see Santa and enjoy some holiday fun. The kids enjoyed picking 2 rides to go on and then they loved seeing Santa. I love the joy that comes with spending time as a family and seeing the happy faces of your children. Life is good!

Caroling Party

On Monday we had our annual caroling party. It was very cold and so we only made it around the block caroling, but we came back to our house for treats and wassil. Then we enjoyed playing the chimes and minute to win it games. Fun times!
