Nora ~ 5 months old

First trip to St George
First time in the pool
Playing with toys in her seat
Can pull all her car seat toys down
Is ticklish
Laughs repeatedly at mom
Smiles for pretty much anyone
Rolls onto her side and wiggle to get toys
Starting to fall asleep at night on own
Reaches for everything in front of her and puts it in her mouth
Found her toes and puts them in her mouth. Cutest thing EVER!
Starting to fit into 3-6 month clothes
First tooth came through.
Started sleeping in her room.

First Foods

Nora got a mesh feeder in her stocking and we decided to try it out. I put some small apple chunks in there. The first day she tried it, she wasn't too sure about it, but today she really went after it! She loves eating it!

For dinner that night we had avocado on our salad and I decided to give Nora some. She has been watching us eat really closely and reaching for our spoon. She did awesome! We probably will just trying things every once in a while until she's 6 months.

Christmas Morning

Christmas morning we had the Weeses at our house. Max is starting to get so fun and he was so excited to see Santa. They woke us up at 7:00. That is too early for Nora so we left her down. As soon as she woke up, we got a cute picture in our Christmas pajamas! 

I'm so excited to be starting fun traditions like Christmas jammies with our little family. We took turns between us, my parents, and the Weeses opening presents. Max had fun playing with everyone's toys. Santa brought Nora a sit to stand walker that everyone loved playing with. 

Nora was very spoiled by everyone - grandparents, us, and Sid and Lisa Thornton. Some of her presents will be great for now and some we will have to save for later. We are excited to figure out what traditions for our family over the next few years. 

Christmas Eve

Christmas Eve was with my family. My mom always plans something fun for all the holidays. She was excited for this year. We started out the celebrations by taking all the kids down to look at the windows at the Grand America. Nora was awake this time, not that she would have remembered. The kids all loved the giant gingerbread house! 

We went back to our house and my mom had a fun time learning about the Candy Bomber in World War II. My mom read all the grand kids the book and then everyone made their own candy parachutes and threw them off the deck. Everyone really liked it. We had a delicious dinner and then had the nativity pageant. Nora was baby Jesus, but she was pretty wiggly! The kids were all so cute!

Forgotten Carols

My parents are always so generous and offered to take Dan and I to see The Forgotten Carols. Dan had never seen it, and we have been several times over the years. Its fun to see how Michael has changed things. It was even more fun to see Jeff performing. We were so glad that Grandma and Grandpa Black wanted to play with Nora that night. We had a fabulous night out and had so much fun! 

 

Cavity?!?!

I went to see Romney for my 6 month check up on my teeth. He told me last time that I might have a cavity. I wasn't too happy with this since I have gone my entire life with out any cavities. And that is impressive considering that I had a 6 year stretch of not going to the dentist! Well, sad to say, Rom told me I had to get it filled. Luckily I could get it done that day. 

Luckily Rom is amazing at what he does and I couldn't feel a thing! I was a little nervous about it hurting, but it was quick and painless. And the whole numb face thing was quite amusing. I told Romney I blamed him for the cavity, because how could I blame someone so cute?

New Tradition

Every year for Jess' birthday we go to dinner at Settebello and see the lights at Temple Square. Since its the beginning of December, it is always really crowded. This year, we walked right in and had a table. Dinners are getting more interesting with people having babies. They always want our food. We all had delicious pizza! I always love eating at Settebello!! 

Since it was so cold outside, we decided to go see the windows at the Grand America. They were decorated so cute and we could walk around with out coats on! It was the best. We all did excellent at the quiz about the windows. Nora slept through the whole thing, so it was fun to just stroll around looking. THe windows were decorated so cute! They also had a HUGE gingerbread house. It was amazing to see. 

This is probably going to be our new tradition for Jessica's birthday. I sure do love these friends of mine and am so glad that I met them while I was in Davis County. Jess is the best friend I could ask for! So glad she was born and that we get to share these fun traditions! 

St. George

Dan and I went to St. George for a few days over Thanksgiving weekend. Our main purpose was to go hang out with the Sweeneys. They were in down from Omaha and I couldn't pass up an opportunity to hang out with them. Sadly we got no pictures! We went right to see them at Ryan's family's house. We hit up Cafe Rio and then went to our place and played games all night. It was so fun to be with them and hang out!

Saturday we went on a walk and swimming and just hung out. It was such a great weekend, with hardly any pictures. We were so excited to hang out for a while just us!

Thanksgiving

This year we celebrated Thanksgiving with the Blacks. We had the youngest 4 and their families there; Andrew, Dave, Pete and us. It was fun being with the Blacks and seeing their traditions. Rich and Kathy's remodel was finished just in time for us all to be in. They have a fabulous long dining area that everyone can sit around the same table. It was a great day! 

The whole day I felt extremely grateful for Dan. He is working so hard at work, school, church callings, and being a dad. He is such a caring, loving, compassionate husband. He is the most darling dad to Nora and will do anything for us. I am also so happy that we have our baby girl.  She is so much fun and such a doll. She's been such a blessing that I didn't know we needed. I am so thankful for my little family! 

Utah vs. Arizona St.

Nora did great at yet another game. She woke up for the 4th quarter and lasted the whole time. Sadly, the U did not do quite as well. Hopefully next year will be better! 

As we left, there was the most BEAUTIFUL sunset! 

We went to dinner with Jess and Ryan. It was a great way to end the night.
