I love you!

Kevin and I will celebrate our 7th anniversary this Monday (August 25th). We are going to Florida to celebrate, so I am posting this a little early.
I truly am so blessed to have a man like Kevin my life. He is my rock, my best friend my everything. Kevin is truly an amazing person. Although we have had bumps in the road, it is always comforting to have your best friend going through it with you. I can’t help but remember our wedding, it was completely magical. I still ask Kev if we can do it a gain. Looking back on these seven years I can not help but think of all that we have been through, I wait with anticipation of what lies ahead. "I Love my little Bacon Strip!"

Yard Work

This Summer Kevin and I have really been focusing on our yard. I am happy to report that our concrete is done. We had a RV and shed pad installed, as well as a patio and we added on to our drive way.

In addition to the concrete we also had our fence installed.

It is really nice to have all of this done. As you can tell we still need to get Trees and bushes planted. It makes me happy to finally be able to see the light at the end of the tunnel. Not to mention Izzie loves having the concrete, she like to go out and bake.

Southern Cali

Over the 24th Kevin and I went to Southern California with his brother Shawn and his wife Megan. On our first day, (Thursday) we did a Segway tour of Long beach. I thought it was scary at first, but it ended up being really fun, Kevin really enjoyed it. When then spent they day just hanging around long beach and going to The Aquarium of the Pacific.

On Friday we went to Magic Mountain, we had a blast, I love roller coasters and if I can get the front row even better… Shawn is not so into roller coaster, but he did so well! I was impressed. Kevin got sick towards the end of the day; lets just say Cold Stone and roller coasters just don’t mix well. So with our hubbies out Megan and I hit the last few roller coasters. On Saturday, we were supposed to go the swap meet (which is one of the may reason why Kevin and I went). But when we got there, there was a sign saying “No swap meet during fair”… “What the heck, there was fair going on?” I was so bummed. We ended up driving down to San Diego (this worked out well sense we flew out of San Diego that night) and spent the day at seaport village, this is a little seaside shopping area with restaurants. In San Diego during this time Comic Con (The worlds largest comic book convention) was going on, we had some great people watching. Although we did not get to go to the swap meet it was still a good day!

Maggie

As our friends and family know Kevin and I do not have any children, well of the Human kind.
We are proud dog parents. I am writing this to tell you all about something truly devastating that has happened to our family. We noticed that Maggie had been acting ill, actually it all started to happen when we went to Alaska, and she was staying with my parents. It seemed like she had an upset stomach 9we thought it was just nerves because we were gone), my mom was able to nurse her back to health and when we got home she was acting fine. However about two weeks later she got sick again (this was on a Saturday) so I took her to the emergency Vet, They did some test and they found out she virtually had no protein in her blood, The vet at the time did what he could and we had to take her to our normal vet on Monday. We had a full work up on her. Our vet feared something was wrong with her liver, they did a slew of blood tests, and we just had to wait for the results. Luckily the entire test came back normal. Kevin and I were ecstatic our little dog was healthy. However about two weeks later on Tuesday (July 15) Maggie woke Kevin and I up and seemed to be having difficulty breathing, we got up with her and tried to calm her down. The next day I took her to the Vet. When I got to the Vet he began to tell me that she was extremely critical and he feared that she had IBD (Inflamed bowel disease). It is where the fluid from her blood seeps out into either her chest or stomach cavity. He did some X-Rays and sure enough her chest was full of fluid. He recommended that we leave her there and they would do a Plasma Transfusion and try to get as much fluid out of her chest as they could (he was able to pull almost 100 cc of fluid from her chest) and we could pick her up that evening. But we need to take her to a specialist the next day in Salt Lake for a Biopsy. I left her at the vet Wednesday (July 16) and Kevin and I had planned to take her to Salt Lake for a Biopsy on Thursday. Well early in the evening (4:38pm) on Wednesday I received the call I was not prepared for. The vet was on the other line Maggie had gone into Cardiac arrest and died. We have sense learned that this disease is extremely rare and by the time the full symptoms appear it is often too late. I have learned, do not take those you love for granted Life is truly fragile and your world can be shaken in a single heart beat. Needless to say this has been an extremely rough time for Kevin and I, we are truly heart broken. We are trying to put back the pieces but it has been very hard.

I finally did it...

I finally did it... I have been thinking about starting a blog for awhile. I have enjoyed reading two of my closest friends blogs Amber http://ablarsenfamily.blogspot.com/ and Kathie http://coronadetucson.blogspot.com/. These two ladies are truly two of my closest friends Although I do not get to see them as much as I would like. I miss you ladies!

So I decided why not start a blog of my own. Wish me luck on my future blogging endeavors, I have a feeling its going to be a bumpy ride... The formatting has me scratching my head! :)
