Tagliatelle!

Summer is ending... the big heat wave of last week is giving way to a fresh breeze and clear air that screams September! As temperature gets cooler my body is recovering energies and today I got up with only one thing in mind: home made pasta! So I made 'tagliatelle', fresh pasta with eggs and flour :)

OK, I used a pasta 'machine' to flatten it (see it in the background), but you can easily do it with just a rolling pin!
Then I cut it by hand, using the 'mattarello'(rolling pin) ;)
The result, with meat 'ragù' and parmigiano, was just GREAT! :)
Here's the recipie, really super easy:
100gr of flour
1 whole egg
Multiply this for each person ( this is for a big plate of pasta, otherwhise three eggs and 300gr will be enough for 4 people).
If you like you can put 2/3 of wheat flour and 1/3 of durum wheat flour, for a more consistent pasta, but regular wheat usually is just fine!
Make a thin foil of this dough (about 0.03" of thickness) and then roll it around a rolling pin, slip it away (keeping the pasta rolled) and cut it in strips of  1/64". That's all!
You can leave it to dry a bit, while you are boiling water to cook it (don't forget to add a good pinch of salt to the boiling water). When water is at boiling point put pasta in it, wait about 8-10 minutes and you are ready to drain pasta and mix it with your favourite sauce! :)

L'estate sta finendo.. e il caldo allucinante della scorsa settimana sta lasciando il posto a una fresca brezza che preannuncia un limpido e frizzante Settembre! cosi' anche le mie energie stanno tornando e oggi mi sono addirittura messa a fare le tagliatelle!!! O_O
Lo ammetto, per stendere la pasta ho usato la macchinetta (ho le mani praticamante senza forza... ce l'ho nel DNA), ma per tagliare le talgiatelle ho usato il mattarello, come faceva la nonna ;)
Le ho mangiate con il ragù della mamma e abbondante parmigiano (nella foto le avevo quasi finite tutte, mi sono ricordata all'ultimo di fare la foto, ehm :D)
Ecco le dosi:
100gr di farina 00
1 uovo intero
Se mangiate solo queste, moltiplicate le uova e la farina per le persone da servire, altrimenti 300 gr di farina e 3 uova bastano per 4 persone. Io ho messo 2/3 di farina 00 e 1/3 di semola di grano duro per dare un po'di consitenza in più, ma di solito vengono benissimo anche con solo la 00, anzi, la pasta si lavora molto meglio!
Mi sono venute un po' spesse, ma sinceramente le preferisco così, quasi pappardelle ;)
(non vi sto a spiegare come cuocere la pasta, ehm.. )

DIY Necklace Display

A few weeks ago I've found a nice tutorial on how to make an easy and nice DIY necklace display. Unfortunately there wasn't any downloadable and printable pattern with it, so i decided to draw one! :) I hope the tutorial's creator doesn't mind!

Salve! Qualche settimana fa mi ero imbattuta in questo tutorial per fare espositori per collane economici e veloci. Purtroppo per l'espositore che volevo realizzare c'era, appunto, solo un tutorial molto ben fatto, ma senza modelli da scaricare, stampare e ritagliare, così ho deciso di disegnarlo io! Ho seguito le misure del tutorial, ma la base e' un po' più stretta: se volete lo potete ingrandire un po'.
Spero che il creatore del tutorial non se la prenda :)
