Easton starts big kid preschool

So Easton got into the school district preschool here in Omaha! We were so excited for him. Preschool through the school district is 5 days a week for 3 hours each day. I was a little nervous to send him thinking it would be a lot for him but I could not have been more wrong! He LOVES preschool and hasn't even complained once about going. I am pretty sure he looks forward to it. To me he is going to half day kindergarten because here kindergarten is full day.
When I took him to school his first day he was so excited and I was too, but I was a little nervous. I have never just left him somewhere for 3 hours in a place I didn't know very well or the people. I know it is a school but still, I worried. He was not worried at all though. When we walked in the classroom it was a little chaotic since it was the first day. Kids were crying and we were trying to figure out what to do as the morning routine. When we finally got his back pack put away and his hands washed I knelt down to say goodbye. As I looked at his face I could tell he looked a little concerned, like he didn't understand why kids were crying, should he be sad too? So I told him with tears in my eyes that some of these kids have never been to preschool like he had and they were sad their parents were leaving but they would be back to pick them up. Trying to hold back my emotions I told him I would be back to get him and the first thing he says to me is "No mom, the bus will take me home." I knew right then and there that he was going to be just fine! I gave him a hug and a kiss and told him I would be back. He didn't even look back!
I kept wondering if Mackay would notice his brother was gone for a while. At first Mackay didn't say anything but when we were a couple miles from home he said "Mommy, Easton go bye bye?" I told him Easton was at school and that we would pick him up later. That's all Mack said and apparently it was all he needed to know because he didn't ask again. Every now and again he will ask me if Easton is at school and I just tell him yes and he continues on doing whatever he is doing.
I can't believe how grown up our little E man is! He will be 5 in just over a month! I remember finding out I was pregnant with him and the day we found out he was a boy and then the day he was born! Each of those memories seem just like yesterday. I will never forget the look on Kyle's face though when we found out he was a boy and the day he was born. It was the exact same face both times. Tears in his eyes, a smile on his face and his stature standing as proud as can be that he would be the father of a beautiful baby boy!
We love our Easton boy with all our hearts! He makes us smile every day with his questions he is starting to ask. He is so smart and full of personality. I hope we can continue to be the best parents we can be as he goes through school and faces the challenges and success that will come. But for the moment we will just focus on the now and get through preschool!

We are seniors

Well as the fall semester of school starts we proudly get to say that we are in Senior year of dental school! Honestly it has flown by so fast and we only have 9 months left which I am sure will fly by too! We missed the first week of school because we were in Utah. So while everyone was taking their "last first day" of school pics we were hanging out enjoying the summer first. We took the last first day of school pic the next week. We sold our place during the summer so that is taken care of thank goodness. The only thing left we have to do is decide where to go! At the moment Kyle is thinking Arizona, Idaho, Washington, Colorado, or Texas. Honestly I am up for anywhere but if I had to choose I would like to go to either Arizona or Washington. Kyle has been inquiring about some offices that are up for sale trying to figure out where to go and we have my mom looking for us in Washington. It's crazy to think we really have no idea where we will be but I don't mind because I know we will figure it all out. All we know is that we will not be in Village Green. I am looking forward to this year for Kyle and to hear about all the things he is doing at school. I am so proud of him and how hard he works. He really cares about his patients and wants to do the best work possible for them. Some of his patients have given him gifts too. He got an edible arrangement, veggies from someones garden, thank you cards, and just the other day he got a $25 gift card to Olive Garden. He deserves it! His patients really love him and trust him. Kyle does such great work. I know I haven't seen what he does first hand but I just know he is good at what he does! Soon we will be done with school for good and living as real grown ups! But first we need to get through the next 9 months! :)

Soccer again!

This post it way late because I wrote it a while ago and forgot to put pics in it. This was written in March.

We just finished spring soccer and it was so fun. It was amazing to see how much better Easton was this time around since he had already played. This time we were the green team! Our whole team was made of up friends from village green. Two in particular that Easton was excited about was Black and Bentley. Those boys played basketball with us as well and have become some great friends. Easton scored almost every game and has gotten so good at dribbling and switching directions. He would get a little frustrated when we played teams who had other good players but it was good for Easton to learn how to play against some defense and play a little himself. After our last game we had a Pizza party and this time around Kyle got trophies for all the kids!! They were all so excited to get a trophy especially Easton! It is so much fun to watch a child play sports! Kyle and I are such proud parents and can't wait for Mack to start playing!

Pre-school Graduation 2014

Easton finished his first year of pre-school! We are so grateful for his teachers and how much they taught him and helped him learn. He is ready to start reading! His writing skills need a little more work but that will come with him. Easton loved going to pre-school and learning. He would tell me every day what letter they were learning or what they were doing. Sometimes he would start talking about something that Kyle and I didn't teach him and it would turn out he learned it in pre-school. I am so glad Easton loves learning and is excited about it. We could have tested him into kindergarten for this coming fall and he would have passed but for sports reasons and the fact that he would still be 4 starting kindergarten we decided it would be better to wait another year. Also I was not ready for that kind of commitment if I didn't have to! ha ha. His pre-school had a little graduation for his class and Easton was so excited to show us everything he had learned there. He goes to pre-school again next year in village green and he is already telling everyone that he will be going to Jenny's house for preschool! He can't wait!!

Mackay turns 2!

Our little Mack head turned 2!! I can't believe is has already been two years since he was born! Kyle reminds me all the time "remember when we thought Mack would be more mellow?" Yeah he is crazier than Easton ever was!! He eats anything and everything. He is talking like a champ. He language development has been so fun to experience. He is already saying full sentences and it is so cute! Kyle and I look at each other every day and say "where did he learn that" or "how long has he been saying that". He surprises us every day with how much he knows. He has been counting to 10 for a couple months now and pretty much thinks he is one of the Big Boys! He pretty much is one of the big boys. I never really have to worry about him...he can hold his own if he really wants to. Lately he has been into animals especially zebras "beebras" fishes "bishys" and elephants "elphant". We read the same "bishy book" over and over and the same "beebra" book over and over. At bed time he will grab the book, bring it over to me and say "read it?" it is pretty cute. He loves to read and to be read to. I have to tell him its time to stop reading so we can go to bed. He can be so dang cute sometimes and it is a good thing he is because he can be pretty nasty too!! He has been a much harder child than Easton but we still love him and his craziness! He also knows what he wants and is very vocal about it. Right now he is stuck on wearing either a Lightning McQueen shirt or PJs, or Dusty Crop Hopper shirt or PJs. He only has a few of those things so I have to make sure the laundry is done because he will not wear anything else! He loves him mommy, I am pretty sure, more than Kyle loves me. He is my #1 fan! ha ha! He still won't sleep through the night and we are not sure why but it is something we are working on. Overall Mack is a sweet and very smart little boy who we love. Life just wouldn't be the same without him.
For Mack's birthday this year we celebrated on the 28th of Feb since we had some friends going out of town on his birthday. We had a fish themed party and Mack loved it. We didn't do anything too extravagant but he knew it was all for him. When we sang to him he got all giddy it was so sweet and then he blew out the candles all by himself!! We opened presents, had cake and ice cream and just hung out. It was a lot of fun. Like I said nothing too extreme but just enough of a celebration to let Mackay know we love him and that it was his special day. I had a way cute Birthday Boy shirt for him to wear but of course he wanted to wear McQueen and I wasn't going to argue so he wore what he wanted!
Mack is one tough boy and is willing to try and do anything. His willingness and toughness is one of the personality traits we love most about Mack. Even if he falls he will pick himself back up and try again. We love our little blue eyed blonde hair boy and can't wait to see what this next year brings for him!

Basketball

So after soccer it was time for basketball...that was a completely different experience than soccer...but so much fun. Easton loves playing basketball. He got some sweet new basketball shoes and basketball from Grandpa Gary and he was ready to play. In soccer the kids have more freedom to do what they want I guess running after the ball but in basketball it is much more structured and slow pace. Kyle was constantly positioning kids on offense and defense. The boys didn't know or understand what they were supposed to do. However, as the season went on the boys caught on and started getting better at dribbling, shooting, and the best part...playing defense! Kyle started teaching the boys how to play defense and it was awesome. They were always in the other teams face and even stole the ball a couple times. Easton improved a lot over the 2 back to back seasons. His very last game of the year he was on fire scoring 10 points!! His shooting improved, his defense was awesome, and he was catching on to the dribbling. It was fun to see the team improve as a whole but especially fun to see Easton do so well. Easton is such an awesome athlete...seriously he is really good at playing sports and is competitive. I can't wait to see What the future holds for him in sports. Kyle and I are both very excited to watch him grow and improve at his game and to watch his love for sports come out while he plays. We are very proud parents! Up next is soccer again and then T-ball!!!
