mAn aLiVe, the PRINCESS is 5!

Sadie turned 5 this week. It is hard to believe that she is growing up so quickly. Sadie was so excited to have another friend party, I think she has been counting down the days until her birthday since Christmas. Let me tell you it has been a long 6 months. She was set on having a fish party this year. We decided to run with the Fish theme. She had a fish birthday cake, At the party, the kids each decorated there own fish bowl, we played duck duck FISH, we had relays with water fish, we swam in the pool like fish, the kids decorated cupcakes with frosting and candy fish, and at the very end, all the kids were able to catch there very own gold fish to take home with them. The party was a HUGE SPLASH!










The kids were all super excited and the fish were all super scared. It turned out to be a really fun birthday party and Sadie told me she loved having her friends and cousins over and loved everything about her party. That night when I put her to bed, she told she was not going to have anymore birthdays. I asked why? She said she wanted to be my little girl for ever and wanted to stay 5 for the rest of her life! I wish I could bottle her up and keep her young for ever, this age is such a cute and innocent age.

WE LOVE YOU PRINCESS, AND YOU WILL ALWAYS BE OUR LITTLE GIRL NO MATTER HOW OLD YOU ARE!

Enjoying the GREAT OUTDOORS!

So we went out to enjoy a little summer rider on the ranger. We were having a wonderful time enjoying the great outdoors. Little did we know that we would get to experience a little bit more of winter. Kade just bought himself a new BB gun with his hard earned cash so he was dying to go shoot at a few tin cans and a big chill cup in the mountains. We were down low and we were enjoying the beautiful weather, eating a yummy picnic and looking at all the flowers in bloom, little did we know a few hundred feet up the road, spring hadn't even sprung. We got to the summit and all the trees were still in bud form, no flowers in site and there were snow drifts across much of the road. It was a lot cooler up top also, I guess you never know what kind of weather you are going to run into living in this beautiful state of UTAH!







We still were able to enjoy our outdoor adventure and also learned a few lessons along the way.
1st Lesson- You always have to be prepared for any type of weather.
2nd Lesson- Scott Sampson cannot bust through ALL snowdrifts in his way.
3rd Lesson-Scott was able to teach us ALL how to get unstuck from the SNOWDRIFT his family told him 100 times not to go through.

It was a wonderful and memorable ride for sure!

Summer Swimming @ the LaKe!

What do you do in the summer time when it is 95 degrees and you have no baseball games to watch. You head to the LAKE, RIGHT? That is exactly what we did. The boys had no games, so it was a perfect time to head to the lake and let the kids swim. It was perfect weather, the water wasn't to cold, ( for the kids and Scott anyway) I got in up to my thighs! We packed a picnic grabbed a couple of boogie boards, sun screened the kids down and we were off.










It turned out to be a fun trip. We lucked out and got a spot with our own little cove and a covered table for shade to boot. The kids had fun splashing around and floating on the boogie boards and Scott and I got to sit and relax and enjoy the slightly cooler weather up at Deer Creek. It was a perfect way to spend a beautiful, summer day.

Summer Fun with the Smith Kids!

Our Best Buddies moved back from VanCover Washington, and we are so excited to get to play with them a little more often.







All the kids have so much fun together and slip and sliding in the back yard was a perfect way to start off our summer.

sUmMerTiMe fish'n!

We kids were able to get a little summer fish'n in at a little quaint pond not to far from our house. They headed out with a pole in one hand, worms in the other hand and a BIG smile on there faces. I think they thought casting the pole out and reeling it in was more exciting than catching the actual fish.






I on the other hand didn't think it was so fun. Every time I turned around someone had a snag, this one's pole was not reeling, someone needed a new worm put on this hook and so on and so forth. This went on the entire 2 hours we were there. Kade got lucky and was able to catch a bluegill about 4 inched long. He thought it was way cool and glad he was just able to catch something. It was a fun little outing, it was close, it kept them busy for a couple of hours so we chalked up the whole experience as a success.
(I think I am going to leave the fish'n up to the dad though.)

LET THE SUMMER BEGIN!

The kids are out! This year, I can honestly say flew by. Summer Vacation has started and I think we are all ready. Sadie Graduated from Pre-School, (no I cannot believe my baby is going to Kindergarten). Mitchell graduated from the 4th grade and Kade from the 2nd grade. They all did so well in school this year and they each enjoyed learning and having fun. We started our summer by eating our first SNO SHACK! I am sure there will be plenty more to follow.






The boys did a great job at their dance festival. They were not all that excited about it, but they still wiggled there stuff. I am proud of my kids and so excited to spend some fun summer days together.
Let the Summer Festivities begin. We are going to have a great summer.
We hope to just relax, laugh, vacation and enjoy each others company.
