AFN Thunderbirds News Story

Andy had an amazing flight! The people at Dyess treated us like royalty as we got to spend the day with many of the Thunderbirds. Andy was trained on emergency procedures, what they would do in their flight, the equipment he would wear, and all the tips to not pass out or throw up. He was fitted for his "g-suit" to help his body handle the 9 g turns they would be doing...which he did twice. We had our very own camera crew to catch all the days events.

Andy flew with Kristin Hubbard, who performed all the maneuvers like they do when they perform. Afterwards, they gave him a 9 g pin and a large framed photo of the Thunderbirds with a special message for Andy and signatures from the whole team. It was an amazing day, and a really big deal! They even had his name painted on the side of the plane(Andy would never admit that it was all for him, but it was. All those people there, just to honor him. Way to go babe!)

Thunderbirds!!!

In case you haven't heard...My sweet, sweet husband was granted the priviledge of flying with the Thunderbirds yesterday! It was truly a once-in-a-lifetime experience! (even for those of us who didn't actually fly! There was a lot of fanfare, and there will actually be a news story airing on the Air Force news t.v. station this week. More importantly, our hearts are heavy for the loss of an APD officer thursday morning. Our hearts go out to the Holder family and our first responders. May they be given an extra measure of comfort from our Father!

Race Day!

Tomorrow is the day! I will be running and Addie will be in the stroller walking with Mama Dee and Papa! A 10K may not be far in the scheme of things (half-marathons, marathons, triathalons, blah, blah, blah), but it will be the farthest I have ever run. Oh, and did I mention that the first half is uphill? Yipes! Oh, well. Last year, there were over 18,000 people who participated, and there's live music about every kilometer. My goal is to finish...no walking or whining. Shouldn't be a problem. Wish me luck!

February...snow and the zoo

For those of you who know about our sweet little one always sleeping on the floor behind the door. In the past month or two, we have a new development. Sleeping in her own bed, not on the floor...proof!
