I have a really hard time with change. I never want good school years to end, and it's always a bit intense when one of the kids is leaving his school. This year, both the boys are finishing intermediate and elementary school, and I'm having to face the fact that I will never have another 2nd grader. I can say without a doubt, that this has been my favorite year of school for the kids. I'm always happier in the "even years", as I love K, 2nd, and 4th grade. Also, Matthew has had the best year in 6th grade! That being said, as sad as I am about endings, God's way of preparing me for the departure is having 50 kagillion fun activities the last few weeks of school, where my soul is reading for the break! Here are a few highlights from the past 1 1/2 weeks:
My big PTA job at the intermediate school was Panther Pride. My committee oversaw 150 6th graders doing 10 hours of service over the year, then having a celebration at our local water park at the end of the year. These were literally the only two pictures that I could find Matthew for!
2nd grade track day. Always fun! Some of these pictures are out of order, but Mary Beth's class came in first place overall between relays and tug of war. They were undefeated in tug of war!
Then it is the 4th grade tradition to visit our local water park as well. Mama got quite the tan last week!
Last dance class of the year. Mary Beth and her friends took a hip hop class this year. It got her missing ballet, tap, and jazz, so we will be doing that again this fall!
4th grade track day. I have never had a kid in a class that won first place in their grade, and both of the kids did it this year! By far, my all time favorite class for Thomas. Such good friends and a fabulous teacher!
