Another Overdue Update

Sorry to everyone, it's been a really long time since I posted last. Joseph and I have been enjoying our summer. I finished my semester on August 5th, and shortly after we moved to a new apartment complex (San Prado), that's located across the street from Midwestern University. We love our new place it's convenient for Joseph, now he can walk to school. It's bigger than our last apartment by three hundred square feet, and it's a whole lot nicer, my favorite is the kitchen it has amazing counter space and cupboards for storage, but best of all THERE ARE ABSOLUTELY NO COCKROACHES coming in from the shotty workmanship. As soon as I get all of our decorating done I will post pictures.

It's been great having Joseph home, and being out here together, I think we've gotten even closer if that were possible. We've enjoyed spending time together, one of the things I've gotten him to do is listen to the Harry Potter books on CD, we've been listening to those together and he ACTUALLY likes them, we've also listened to Hearts in Atlantis by Steven King together as well. As you can tell we spend alot of time together going to the library which is always fun. One other "luxury" Joseph has been enjoying this summer has been World of War Craft, and Halo, I've played Halo with Joseph this summer and he is infinitely better than me, but it's still a blast (when I'm not getting frustrated with his killing me from across the board, or sneaking up behind me and killing me every five seconds), okay so maybe it doesn't sound fun, since that is constantly happening; but it is I promise.

Joseph and I just celebrated our three year anniversary which is on August 12th, however due to moving during our anniversary yet again we celebrated it the following Monday, my co-worker gave us free passes to the Phoeniz Zoo, so we went and looked at all of the animals which was fun. It's more of a children's zoo so their weren't as many animals. Arizona has another zoo called the Wild Life Zoo that we would like to go to some other time.

The only thing separating us was a low fence and a moat, that freaked me out, but Joseph got some cool shots.

The volunteer was telling us that this elephant was a diva so they had to separate her from the others, we got to throw her carrots to eat, but I only think she ate part of Joseph's.

These turtles are in the lake before you enter the zoo, we thought it was funny to watch them try to balance on the log. Some were falling off, when the others were trying to climb on.

We also went and saw the newest Harry Potter movie again, because I really wanted to. I know its not the most romantic anniversary date but we both had alot of fun which I think is just as important. Afterward we went to the Olive Garden and home to exchange cards. All in all it was a great day.

I also recently started sewing, my mom sent me a sewing machine for my birthday. I finally had my friend Toni come over and show me how to thread it (who wants to read the instructions?). I sewed a table cloth and runner. Toni being better at sewing than myself made the cutest baby blanket for her friend. I'm going to make a quilt one of these days (when I have a little more money, don't want Joseph to fall over when he realizes how much fabric costs) to hang on our wall if it's not too ugly by the time I finish it I might have to make a practice one first. (Oh what's that noise you hear? Yeah that's Joseph groaning in the corner).

I will be starting my final class (Marriage and Family) for my associates degree online through SLCC and will finish in December. After that I will hopefully start at ASU to start on my Bachelor's Degree. Joseph will be starting his second year of medical school on August 31st, he is both excited and bummed out at the same time. Other than that our summer has been pretty uneventful which has been glorious. It's been nice having Joseph around, and not having to worry about too much, other than homework. Not too much has been going on other than that, so as soon as I am done decorating the apartment (I still need to buy/make a few things) I will post pictures of what it looks like.

Terrifying Experience

Today I had one of the worst experiences; Joseph and I went with some friends to go bowling, we arrived at the alley to find that they didn't have an opening for any lanes until several hours later. We decided as a group to go to Pei Wei for lunch; we got there and everything is going great, we're having fun talking and joking around. After we were done eating we decided to go over to our friend Steve's house to play some Halo 3. I completely sucked at the game and quit after a couple rounds, and watched the boys play for awhile. It was getting late in the afternoon, and I told Joseph we needed to go so that I could get some homework done. We get up to leave, and I can't find my purse anywhere. I start getting worried and freaking out, telling Joseph I think I left it at Pei Wei several hours ago. We jump in the car, and I run inside, the manager tells me and our friend Bashoy nothing was turned in. I'm completely freaking out now, because all of my personal identification is in my wallet, my drivers license, credit cards, and my......Social security card (I left this in my wallet on accident after needing it for something several months ago). Joseph and I drive to Wells Fargo and cancel my card, while Bashoy drove to the Bowling Alley just to be safe (they didn't have anything either), after canceling the card we race home and file a police report, I tried calling the Social Security offices...closed, the DMV....closed, the only other place we could cancel anything was my library card; so Joseph does that. We are trying to figure out what else we can do when it dawns on us that whoever stole my purse has the keys to our apartment, and to our car and since they have my drivers license they also have our address. So now we have to worry about more. I decided to go say a prayer, hoping that someone would find it and either return it, or would shred everything in it, about a half hour later Joseph was just about to leave the house to go buy a new club for the car, when we hear the doorbell..............

Steve was at the door, carrying the most beautiful thing I had ever seen, my purse along with all of its contents. Apparently I had kicked my purse under his and Cara's couch, while we were playing video games; so much so that it was completely hidden and no one thought to look their, until Steve had the brilliant idea to do so. I am just so greatful that it was found, I can't help but think about what could have happened to my identity. The moment I took it, I went into the office took out my wallet, and went through the whole thing, taking out anything that was important, but didn't need to have in there. I put all of that into a ziplock, and filed it safely away. I'm also greatful to our friends who helped us look, and to the Lord for watching out for us, and answering my prayer. It pays to do what's right, the Lord blesses us when we least expect it.

Sorry it took so long

Well alot has happened in the last several weeks, Joseph finished his first year of medical school on May 22nd (Woot!), he is definitely deserving a nice long summer break; unfortunately as most things do, it will go by extremely fast. Work has been really slow ever since I got home in March, which is partly why I decided to go back to school to finish up my associates degree. I originally started out taking 18 credits, but one of my classes ended up having a pre-requisite to take before. I didn't know this until after the class started so I was unable to take a different course instead. So now I'm taking 15 credits American civilization (which is a ton of work), Anthropology (not as fun as I was hoping it would be), Criminal Justice (easiest of my classes), Intro to Folklore (fun and interesting), and Intro to Music (alot of work, but not too bad). I can't wait for the semester to be over, but at the same time I want it to slow down so I can spend more time with Joseph. While I study he has been keeping the house tidy, doing the laundry, and playing his favorite game...........that's right you guessed it World of War Craft. This is going to be his last summer break since next summer he will be taking his board exams and starting rotations; we decided that he needed to take the whole summer off and just relax while he can (maybe he will get some review time in).

Joseph went to get a Physical and a tetanus shot at the Midwestern University Clinic, while he was there his physician checked out his heart, and told Joseph that he had a heart murmur. As you can guess Joseph was pretty shocked that he went 25 years without being diagnosed, it's not serious probably a 2, but to be sure the physician told Joseph to schedule an echo, so his appointment for that will be on June 26th.

Joseph and I went to Salt Lake and visited some family and friends during the first two weeks of June. That was crazy, we ended up ping ponging around the valley trying to see as many people as we could, (if we missed you we're sorry, hopefull we can catch you on our next trip). It was alot of fun seeing everyone again. Not too mention the whole new wardrobe Joseph and I got, from all of the shopping trips are family took us on. While we were visiting my family Joseph got a chance to try out some of the OMM (osteopathic manipulative medicine) techniques he learned in school on my Mom and Dad. They both seemed impressed my mom said that he helped relieve some of the back ache she always has. However, not much could be done to my Dad, since it's so hard for him to relax. It was quite humorous watching Joseph try to do some of the techniques on him. Particularly getting him to relax his neck so he could realign the column, it didn't work, so he ended up doing some muscle relaxing techniques instead.

We came home on the 18th and I've just been trying to get all caught up on my homework since. Joseph and I went to an organ concert sunday at a Lutheran church for my music class. That was interesting Joseph and I were by far the youngest people there, everyone else was really old. We will be searching for a new apartment here in the next week or so, and then starting our yearly tradition of moving during the hottest month of the year. Other than that we are just hanging out, I will post some pictures soon of where Joseph is going to school, and where we will. I keep procrastinating that, and it's been almost a year, so hopefully I'll get them up soon.

Tuesday Joseph and I finally recieved our new sofa and love seat set. They are really comfortable, and definitely beat that futon we had. Here are some pics, they aren't that great but at least you can see the improvement.

Joseph is done with school on May 22nd, I will post an update and more pictures then.

School, School, School

Not too much has changed since the last update, just more of the same. Although Joseph's birthday was last saturday, however we celebrated it on monday since he had a big test he needed to study for. We both can't wait until his finals are over with, he needs a nice long break. I just registered for online classes on monday myself through SLCC. I'll be taking eighteen credit hours and the classes I'll be taking are Anthropology, American Civilization, Intro to Music (for the art credit I need), Criminal Justice, Intro to Geneaology, and Intro to Folklore. Four of them start May 18th, and the other two start on June 10th. Once they are complete I will have my Associates Degree FINALLY! I've taken so many breaks in between semesters it will be a relief to finally have it done.

We are still waiting on our couches, they won't be delivered until May 5th. Other than that not too much has been going on. But we are making plans to visit Utah in June.

Update

I haven't posted in a while, so I thought that I would give a quick update of what I have been up to. Joseph had break a couple weeks ago, and we spent some time together going to the Phoenix art museum, to the movies, and just hanging around. We had some friends come down to visit us as well, that was alot of fun. We went out to eat, played alot of ping pong and pool, and played board games as well. When they had to head back to Utah, I hitched a ride with them so that I could visit my family. I was gone for just over a week, I missed Joseph quite a bit, and he missed me as well (although I don't know which he missed more me, or my cooking). I would have to say the majority of what I did up there was eat out alot, and shopping. I can't complain, it was a blast. It was good seeing my family again my brothers, my parents, and my grandparents. I also went to SLCC to see how many credits I need to finish up my Associates, only 11 credits of electives, and Art and History. I'll be finishing that up this summer, so that I can start on my Bachelors in the fall. Another thing that I started up since I got back has been cross stitching, my mom bought me a bunch of stuff to get started, and so far I've made two book marks. Not much yet, but I just ordered some books from the library. My mom flew me back home on the 18th, and I have to say I did pretty well in the airports it was my second time flying, and my first flying alone. Needless to say I was pretty nervous trying to find where I was going. The flight was great (it reminds me of a rollercoaster), very little turbulence. After Joseph picked me up from the airport he took me to the Olive Garden, as a welcome home dinner. It was good, but I was happier to be home. These past few weeks have been really good, I can't wait for third quarter to be over with. Since I've been home, Joseph and I have been watching an anime series. I'll admit I'm the biggest dork ever. They are extremely cheesy, but funny enough they are really good. Joseph and I finally got our tax return so we used it to by a couch. We went to Ashley furniture and they had a special a couch and a love seat for $500.00 and they are sooo comfortable. They are on back order right now, so we won't get them for a few weeks, but we are both really excited. Not much else is going on, Joseph is just studying for exams, he just took one on Monday and scored really well. I'm just hanging out and doing my thing. I'll post pics and more later.

It's a bird, it's a plane, no it's Superman!

I went to work yesterday, and I had this nice woman come in for a facial. She was a "model" for my boss's show Sonoran living. Each week they have a makeover victim; they get their hair done (usually a cut and color), a facial, brow wax, and lip wax done pro bono. Anyway I had this woman fill out her paper work when she arrived. When she was finished, I took her back to my room and asked her whether or not she had had a facial or not. She replied that she hadn't. I went on to explain to her how to put her robe on. Under the arms like you would a towel and that it just snaps in place. I left the room to allow her to change and came back in, and she was wearing the robe like a cape as if she were superman (or wonder woman in this case), I guess that must be how she wears her towels. When I walked in She turned to me with this sheepish look on her face and asked if she put it on correctly. I nicely told her what she was supposed to do, and left again. I thought this was really funny and kind of cute, so I decided to share it. Just one of the many humorous experiences I have when I go to work.
