Grown up Little Lady

Well it has been a while since I posted! So sorry! Eila is now 7months old! Crazy how time flies. She is just a little miss busy body, cant hold still for a second. She started crawling at 51/2 months, and it is amazing that I am still finding things in her mouth. You would think after 2mo. I would have the house baby proofed. Oh funny/gross story... about 2 weeks ago Matt and I were sitting in our living room and we realized Eila got very quiet- never a good thing- she wasn't very far just in the corner of the same room we were in, but we saw something in her hand. She was squishing it like you would a stress ball just kinda rolling it around with her fingers. Matt went to see what it was... turns out she is quite the roach killer! I know how gross is that, so we stripped her down and just put her in the tub. Ya my biggest nightmare came true. Anyways she also has 3 teeth in now and is working on #4. She got the bottom 2 the same week she started crawling! She is starting to think that it is time to walk, pulls herself up to anything and everything, and lately her new trick has been to stand up on her own. She will let go of the couch look at me with her big 'look what I can do' grin then grab back on. Matt and I are doing well also. I am loving being a stay at home mom. I get some good exercise chasing her around the house! My favorite part though is probably when she follows me around sayin Ma Ma Ma Ma ma maaa. It's just amazing to watch her grasp things that I have taught her (she also calls all babies la la's-her nickname- or she sees pics of her and says Ei-la- and she says Da da) it sure makes me feel good. Like YAY! I haven't completely messed up... all you mom's out there probably totally understand where I am coming from. Matt is still working with my dad and it is going great. His favorite part is driving around the big bucket truck. In the fall he will be going to ASU. He got accepted to the W. P. Carey accounting program, and he is really excited to be there. We wanted to thank everyone for their prayers on our behalf. With the 4th coming up this week I just wanted to say how thankful I am to live here in America, and how grateful I am to our Armed Forces. They do amazing things and we pray for them and their families that they return home safely. Have a happy 4th, and again thank you for all of your prayers.

Its Good to be Home

Well my first week as a stay at home mom flew by so fast!! It was wonderful! I think the princess is still in shock that I am home. When she wakes up from her naps and sees me she just gets so happy!! She is still teething, which is quite an adventure. If any one knows how to speed up the process pleazzzzzzzzzzzzzze let me know. Its not just painful for her let me tell you! Well I hope everyone had as good a week as I did!

Well I just put in my 2wks notice at work! It is kinda a leap of faith for us, but i know that it will be a blessing for us. Now I will be doing data entry job from home. I am so excited to be home with Eila more. She just keeps growing and changing so much it felt like i was missing out on her life. Keep us in your prayers. Sorry we have not posted in a while; life is a lot crazier than we expected with a new baby. She is 4mo old now! Wow! Time flies when you're having fun!! Well a lot has happened in the last few months... Matt is half way through his last semester at CGCC, and we are looking forward to starting at ASU. He also got a new job working on traffic lights. He was working with my grandpa which was wonderful, but this job has been a great blessing also. Because of his new job I will probable be able to work part time, so I can spend more time with our princess!! This month we got our family pics taken, so just a quick shout out to Kate Lines she did a great job! We are so glad she could do that for us! Also I took a few days off this month to spend with little Eh and we went to the zoo!! We had so much fun!! She loved the lights and sounds. She is such a busy girl she rolls everywhere and is working on crawling. We figure in the next few weeks she will be completely moble! She is also cutting her 2bottom teeth, so she has been a little fussy lately. She still sleeps about 12hours a night though, so we feel pretty spoiled. We hope everyone is doing well and has a wonderful Easer!

Merry Christmas

Well it has been 1mo today since our princess join our family. She is getting so big and so fun. Matt had finals this week and i am so proud of him. With such a crazy semester i am glad that he was able to finish out strong. We hope everyone is as relieved as we are to have one semester down!! I go back to work in 2wks. It is going to be the hardest thing i have ever done to leave her. My mom, however, is watching her so i know she is in good hands. We hope everyone is having a wonderful Christmas season. We are grateful for the time to celebrate our Savior's birth, and hope everyone feels an out poring of his love at this time of year. Merry Christmas and Happy New Year everyone!!

Happy Little Eila

Well we have made it almost 3 weeks! It has all been kinda a blur of busy days and all to short of nights. She is growing so big! At her 2wk appt she weighed in at 8.9. She is so strong too! She already can hold her head up, she tries to stand up when we burp her, and she practically can do push ups! We of course are very impressed. Our favorite thing about being parents though is when she gives us her big Eila smiles. They go from ear to ear and her eyes just sparkle.

Late Thursday night (10:46) we welcomed Eila Mailee Allen into our family. She was 7lbs 14oz and 20 1/2in long. Because of a few complications during delivery she was sent up to the nursery for a few hours but was brought back a few hours later happy and healthy. She is a beautiful girl and very bright eyed. She is very mild mannered and just lights up our lives. For those we have not told Eila is a Finnish name that Matt liked while he was on his mission. It is pronounced Ayla.
