Look what I brought home this week!

After many months of talking about it-----I finally bought a new car! It is a 2009 Hyndai Sonata. My ultimate goal was to get an inexpensive car that I could tool around town in and use the van when I needed it. With rebates, the Sonata ended up being only $1,500 more than the Elantra was---so I did it! It has been my "dream" car for a while (I know, my dreams aren't that big)! I just can't beleive I have another blue car----but it was the prettiest of them so, yes I am now on my 5th blue car (out of 6 cars) since turning 16!

1st Trip to the Cabin this Season

The 1st week after school got out, Mom, Barbara, Christopher, Cheryl, Jake, Jenna, Bret, and I went up to the cabin for a weekend. It was a little chilly (40s-high 50s) so we spent most of the time relaxing inside. Jenna and I read a lot---so did Bret, but since he was the "older, cooler, boy cousin" he spend a lot of time entertaining the younger ones---and we all thank him for that! Jenna did do some 4-wheeling and loved having them all to herself! We did take a hike and found some cool teepees!

One Proud Mother!

Last week was Lied Middle School's Award Night. Bret and Jenna recieved 2 awards each. Bret recieved the Basketball Award for being a great manager and the CRT (criterion reference test) Perfect 500 score in Math! Jenna also recieved the CRT Perfect 500 score in Math and the Presidential Award (8th graders with a 3.5 GPA or higher).

Happy Mother's/Birthday!

We had the chance to spend Mother's Day and Bret's 13th birthday down in Oceanside, California due to the graciousness of Jeff and Cheryl. It was wonderful! The house was 35 ft from the beach, we spent time sunbathing, playing lacrosse/volleyball, boogie boarding, beach walking, and even playing/eating on the pier. The beach with my wonderful children--what away to spend mother's day! For his birthday, Bret wanted a steak dinner and costco chocolate cake---so he got what he wanted!

Daughter of a King

Our Stake wanted to put on a Relief Society/Young Women program consisting of a choir and orchastra. Jenna and I decided to sing (we are the tall ones in the back row!). We practiced as a group for about 7 Sunday's and then performed. It was AWESOME! The songs brought such a spirit!....and many thanks for Barbara for coming out and supporting us!

Spring Break

Spring Break was pretty uneventfull (oh, except for redoing Jenna's room, Bret's room, and their Bathroom--how could I forget!). On Friday we decided to go up to St. George for a quick 24 hour trip. Of course Steve had a exciting climb planned for us! We went into some cavern which were really cool (pictures don't do it justice). It was nessecary to have on head-lights inorder to see anything. At one point we turned them all off as some other hikers had sprayed glow sticks all over themselves and the cavern walls. Looked like you were in space with 1000's of starts. We only had a few minor causalties (Jenna and Morgan hit their head)
The kids also wanted to go to Jumping Jacks. I tried to take pictures, but they were not cooperating to well. In fact, I was battling with Jenna on taking her picture so much, she fell off the jumper---so I snapped a good pic of that one---guess I won that battle! :)
