15 months old!

15 months already! Its amazing how fast time flies...

Savvy is in the 4th percentile for weight (19.1 lbs) and the 27th percentile for length (29.65 in)

Savvy is super active and so much fun! Her only speed theses days is fast!

She can say quite a few words:

• Mama
• Dada
• Crackers
• This/Kris- we aren't quite sure
• Up
• Down
• Yes
• Juice
• Thank You

 She also points to what she wants and will eat almost everything. She love to play with sticks and rocks and anything outside! She is having lots of fun in our new house stomping around. She can go up and down the stairs like a champ- it all happened just one day and she hasn't looked back!

Happy Birthday Savvy!

How in the world has a year flown by!! I can't believe my baby girl is 1! Everyone always says that when you have kids life just fly's by but i didn't believe- until now! I have enjoyed being a mother so much more then i expected- in fact i was really scared about it. I now have days when i wish i could be a stay at home mom so i can be around for everything Savvy goes through. Some days i only get 2-3 hours at most with her and its just not enough... but that is not in the cards yet.

At her 1 year appt she was in the 8 % for weight and 30% for height. She is still an itty bitty girl but full of so much energy!


Here are some of our favorite pictures from her 1 year photo shoot. It was pretty fun exploring new items- balloons, bubbles, headbands and high heels!

Here are some facts about Savannah:

• Is starting to really talk and communicate- she points to things she wants and is repeating words we say
• Eats just about anything and is hungry all the time! Her favorites are avocado, banana, yogurt, meat loaf, and crackers of any kind. If we are eating it she wants some of it!
• Bath time is her favorite- she will go to the bathroom door and bang on it until we come and start the water. She wants a bath every night...
• She loves to be outside- i wish it wasn't so cold or we would be out there until dark every night
• She is starting to play on playgrounds- at least swings and slide. 
• She started walking at 10.5 months and now she won't slow down
• Has started really wanting electronic items- phones, remotes, TV. She will watch about 12 minutes of Mickey Mouse Clubhouse before she loses interest.
• Has 5 teeth (maybe more) and has started wanting to brush her teeth- so she has her own special toothbrush and toothpaste

Houses!

So we decided a while ago to move out of our current house and get a bigger house and yard.  We had done some updates and hoped that we would get a fast offer. We put our house on the market in Oct 2014 and had LOTS of showings. We had one almost everyday but no offers. Kris and I were starting to get a little worried as we had finally decided to build a home and were going forward with that even before we sold.
We went to California for Christmas not expecting anything during the holidays. The Sat after Christmas i was woken up by our Realtor- she had 2 offers for us! We asked her to get 'best and final' offers for us and that we would decide by Monday. As we were traveling back home we got yet another offer! We are so blessed to have gotten so many competitive offers- most were beyond our asking price!
Now I've watched bidding wars on my HGTV shows but now i truly know how much sellers like them!! It was great- we had a smooth closing and got what we needed to make sure our new house would continue. We had about 3.5 weeks to move out and that was crazy but we know that we are blessed for how everything has worked out and are so grateful!
It was just a tad hard to say goodbye to our 'starter' house but we are so excited for the future!

Today is the day! After waiting 11 weeks for our permit to go through we are finally breaking ground!! We are anxious for the house to be built but know we have 4 more months of being homeless (not really but apartment living is different).
I am planning on Kris taking a picture of our lot/house everyday so we can see the progress and show our kids in the future. Here is ground breaking day - Feb 24th 2015!!

Growing up through Christmas!

Savvy had her 9 month old appt and was in the 15% for weight and 30% for height.

Savvy met Santa and Mrs.Claus at a ward Christmas party and she was surprisingly happy to meet them. You see all the pictures of unhappy crying babies when they are young. My daughter just loved all the jingle bells they had on.

Since Christmas in Cali is always warm and sunny we visited the park on a daily basis. This was the another first for Savvy- and she loved the swings! Kris was a bit protective of her at first but once we realized how much she loved it, we couldn't drag her away.

 



Christmas in Cali was with almost all of the family ( Bre was too pregnant to come) and we had lots of fun and Savvy got spoiled of course! She was the only grand kid at Grandma and Papa's and she got lots of attention and got into a lot of things. Grandma had a chair for her and she wasn't quite sure how to use it... but it was fun watching her discover it! For Christmas she got a toothbrush- she is obsessed! When we brush our teeth she wants to watch or help, which is awkward, and then she steals someones to have in her mouth. We got her this banana toothbrush so  she can get used to it with her teeth as well as learn to hold and grip it. She is a pro- as of today she has 3 toothbrushes, 2 to play with and 1 that she uses every night! Her favorite toy was from Grandma and Papa of course! She got a walker/barnyard play toy and adores it. She is always trying to move and this helped her finally walk! She loves all the animals and plays so well by herself with this. You can see from the video how attentive she is when she play!

Visiting Dallas!

We had a great time visiting my sister and her family in Dallas last week! We went to meet baby Henry and spend time since we haven't seen them in months! We were so used to them living an hour away that we have gone through withdraws!

Hazel and Savvy tried to play together but it didn't always work. I guess one day their ages will align! They seemed to have a lot of fun in the bath though!

We got to be outside since it was so warm! We fed the ducks, took walks, went to the zoo ( Savvy's first time), visited the Fort Worth Stock Yards, and the park!

7 months old!

7 months have flown by! Savvy is super adventurous and is moving all the time now. She is proficient in crawling and pulling herself up on any object she can!

• We had to lower her crib because she was standing up and reaching over.
• Eating more solid food- even trying some food off our plates. She loves the weird mixtures like Mango-Carrot-Apple and Peach-Squash. She eats a container of baby food a day and we are thinking about adding another meal time to her day.
• Wearing shoes to church- she finally fits in the shoes she has been given but she didn't really like them. We will have to work on this
• New toy- Steph had multiple play tables so we borrowed one for our house and it is her favorite! She stands and dances and makes the music play on the table all day long!
• She is a laughing, giggling baby and we love it!
• She is a fast crawler! She will catch up to us in any room of the house. She likes to be able to see one or both of us at all times.
• She has started spitting and is very aware of her tongue. It is so cute!
• She is now big enough to sit in the cart by herself and she got to go grocery shopping with me. From her face you can see its still a questionable experience.

We went out on a date with Kris' department members and had to find a babysitter for the first time- of course Savvy was awesome for Brooke but we were nervous parents all through dinner. 

6 months... already!

How in the heck has half a year already come about? Our cute little Savannah is 6 months old! She is such a joy in our lives and is so cute! Its hard to be upset when she has a bad sleeping night. Here are some of her favorite things:

She weighs 15 pounds 1 ounce (30%) and is 25.4 inches long (35%)

• Loves her voice- loves to tell us stories and is especially loud when we are at church!
• She grew out of her baby bouncing chair
  and now has a new bouncing chair- full of activities to occupy her
  
• Started eating solid foods and is being brave trying new flavors
• Has gone on her first camping trip: We went to the Hallows family reunion camping in August and we thoroughly enjoyed being in the forest and having good times with friends. Didn't realize it would get so cold- got down to the mid 40's and Savvy wouldn't keep her blankets on. She ended up sleeping on the air mattress in between Kris and I which meant neither of us really slept.
•  Loves to be tickled!
• Went to her first demolition derby and seemed to enjoy it.
•  Enjoys when people clap at her
• Goes from sitting up to crawling and back up again
• She loves watching people
• She loves one on one interaction
• We have to keep our eyes on her because she is starting to get sneaky and trying to get into things

Eating Solid Food

Well we were told by the doctor to start Savannah on solid food at 4 months. We tried rice cereal and the first time was disastrous... she did not like the texture or the taste. She has gotten a lot better - its been about 6 weeks. I think she finally got the swallowing part down but still really has a problem with taste.  We  have tried a few flavors and she has different reactions to all :

Green beans- not a fan
Squash- totally loves
Sweet potatoes-  liked
Bananas- not sure yet

I am hoping she starts to like it more. She is always grabbing at whatever i'm eating so i know she is interested in real food. I'm hoping she will like the fruits a bit more than the vegetables. I just want her to be a good eater!
