I leave for vacation tomorrow afternoon. I'm so excited, I could do this:
I really, really need this break! Wish that my being out the rest of the week didn't also mean I have a ton of work to finish today. Oh well. It's nice to be needed. And to have something to come back to.

Crank up the Ringer
I keep missing calls on my cell phone. I have officially decided to turn up the volume, even if that means I jump out of my skin at work...
Today I had a voicemail from a guy I hadn't heard from in awhile. I'm thinking he didn't realize his phone was on or that he'd called me, because the message consisted of two minutes of his band setting up for a gig. Ha ha! My friends are funny...
I'm watching Disney's Hercules at the moment. As I recall, that was the last movie I saw at the Drive-In on Redwood. Golly it's good! "Somebody call I-X-II!"
Wearing Kate's tiara. It feels good. I like the weight on my head. Plus, I feel pretty...
I feel really good about my audition this morning for Taylorsville's Oklahoma. Thank you Rach for playing my song so well, and thanks to all on the pro team for being so encouraging! I sang "The Most Amazing Thing" from Little Women, and now I want to do that show again, too...
I met a lady there named Bethany who looks a lot like me. We could be sisters! This threw me not a little. I've never met someone who had hair like mine before. I feel less unique, somehow. It's like the first time I met another girl named Megan. Now, of course, there are Megans all over the place. I am willing to dye my hair if needed. It's been a while since I was a redhead. I liked Bethany, though, and would love to work with her, or any of the other friends I reconnected with or people I met. I am really excited to be part of a show, whichever one it may be...
I enjoy spending time in my apartment, especially during the day. It's so nice to have the sun shining through the windows and the shades pulled back. Just sitting in the sunny rooms makes me feel cheery...
Last night I saw a concert by the Orchestra at Temple Square. I haven't listened to classical music that wasn't part of a soundtrack in quite awhile. It was gorgeously played, and I had a good time...
C'est tout!

Beautiful Borrowed Things
Yesterday, two darling friends insisted I borrow their beautiful things. Just thinking about these friends and their things makes me smile.
Wendi recieved gorgeous flowers at work from a gentleman admirer yesterday. She is leaving town today for the next five days, and asked if I'd like to keep them at my desk and then take them home for the weekend. Is there anything lovelier than vibrant, fresh flowers on a snowy day?
Last night, I visited Kate and she was delighted to share her wedding plans and everything she's gathered in preparation. It's going to be a phenomenal event. I'm so excited! Kate pulled out her tiara and placed it in my hair. She me to wear it the rest of our visit and on the drive home! Maybe I'll wear it to work tomorrow... my co-workers all know me well enough not to be surprised when I wear things like that anyway.
You know, what "they" say is totally correct: It's the little things that make life so wonderful. Thank you my sweet friends for brightening an otherwise hum-drum day.

Human Foosball
Last night I got to magnify one of my callings in my Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Singles' Ward. I'm a member of the Family Home Evening Committee, and we all take turns taking charge of an activity each Monday night. Last night was my turn. Thankfully I had a lot of help.
Unfortunately, I lack the courage to ask for more help and delegate. And, of course I didn't plan for enough time to buy the food (something else I should have delegated) and locate the beach balls needed for the game. If it hadn't been for the two men on the committee who volunteered to put together the court and find the poles I would have been in a whole heep of trouble!
We played Human Foosball. Yep, it's pretty much exactly how it sounds! We held onto poles and kicked a ball around. There were so many people there we had two games going! I didn't get to play, but I helped referee, and keep score. It was a big hit! Everyone got really into it and it really looked like a foosball table, with people frantically kicking the ball away from people's legs, hitting players in the head, and the balls flying every which way out of the courts, though some got creative, using the poles to hit the ball. The funniest moment came when someone kicked the ball into a kid who was holding a cookie -- the cookie went flying, and we had to stop for a few minutes because we were laughing so hard.
I would highly recommend Human Foosball for family reunions and young men/young women activities. It was really awesome.

Me with cousin Bryce who I am so thrilled to say is now in my ward! Isn't he handsome?

The food I agonized over. I was tired of having cookies at every activity, so I bought carrots, celery, broccoli, cantaloupe, grapes, and... some other fruit. It thrilled me every time someone complimented the food! I was afraid there wouldn't be enough, but everyone ate a ton and there was still some for me to take home.

All went well, and it was a great activity. I am very grateful to the other members of my committee for all of their help in making it such a success. I needed their help! And hey -- I met a lot of fun people!

Lousy Leadership
I have been in charge of three meetings at work in the last two days, and though I was mostly prepared for the content of each, technology conspired against me, and all of them started late, amidst much confusion. I even accidently hung up on my manager and another woman on a conference call this afternoon. I haven't accidently hung up on anyone in 5 years! The rest of the meeting actually went quite well, but I cried afterward anyway. I just hated that I was so involved with the stupid laptop and wireless connection and the meeting room being occupied even though I'd scheduled it, that I couldn't pay great attention to all that was being said. Not a good position for one who is supposed to be in charge.
I feel like it was a lesson in what not to do. Hopefully, I've got all the kinks worked out, and future meetings will be better. After all, it doesn't seem to be an option to never let me be in charge of anything ever!
Just when I was really feeling hopeless and like I should be fired, my manager sends me this instant messaging conversation:
Seriously, I have the best job with the best co-workers ever.

Beth (3/24/2009 5:37:50 PM): and thank you for organizing and leading us into the Indexing issues. You have it covered, Megan. Nice work. I am so glad to have your insight and commitment.
Megan (3/24/2009 5:38:19 PM): thanks, Beth
Megan (3/24/2009 5:38:27 PM): I am so sorry for all of the technical difficulties.
Megan (3/24/2009 5:38:36 PM): hopefully I'll iron those out with more experience
Beth (3/24/2009 5:38:59 PM): lessons learned, i expect. the more you practice (rehearse)...takes on a new meaning.
Megan (3/24/2009 5:39:09 PM): yeah
Beth (3/24/2009 5:39:47 PM): Just know that I appreciate all you do for our little team.

Too Lazy to Look It Up
I'm not expecting anyone to answer any of these. Been thinking about these questions and want to ask, even if I'm too lazy to ever actually do the research. I'll probably add more later.
1. Is it what I'm wearing or the way that I move that results in my getting an electric shock every time I touch my car door? It usually happens when I'm getting out of the car. I have conditioned myself to cringe in anticipation.
2. What are the chances of my headphones at work falling into whatever I happen to be eating? They resist staying put in my ears, and they always just barely miss my lunch, or one of four snacks I pack every day.
3. Would a) larger or b) smaller rubber covers on my earbuds keep them from falling out of my ears so much?
4. Am I the only one who is not yet tired of the snow? Today's fall is the BEST KIND!! Not sticking to the roads, but the whole world is black, white and grey! Gorgeous and peaceful.
5. How ironic is it that my stress-induced headaches are causing me even more stress?
6. When was the last time I posted any photos on this blog?! (Dude, I should totally take photos at FHE tonight, if I can remember my camera in addition to everything else I've put myself in charge of.)
7. How tired do I have to be before I actually adhere to my goal of shutting off the t.v. at 10:30pm no matter what and going to bed?
8. Would the X-ray lady be willing to take a film of my chest as well as my sinuses on Wednesday, or do I have to make an extra appointment? I guess the ear, nose, and throat doctor has no need of a chest x-ray :P I just really want these sinus infections to leave me alone before I (hopefully) start rehearsals.
9. Been watching David Copperfield on Masterpiece Classic. Seriously, how cute is 9 year-old Daniel Radcliffe?!
10. What are the odds either or both of my nieces will be even more dramatic than my nephew?
11. Would reading the Sports page be enough to make me cooler and more well-rounded than I am, or would I actually have to play the sports? Would reading the Sports page give me enough information to have an intelligent conversation with someone who watches the games? I am not excited about watching sports on t.v., but I like going to games when invited.
12. How much milk have I wasted since moving into my condo, seeing as I don't even get through 1/2 gallon before it goes bad? Why doesn't Albertsons sell pints of milk?
13. Why am I so in crush with Ty Murray on Dancing with the Stars? His boyish smile? The fact that he's a cowboy? The accent? Because he did so much better the second week than the first? The likelihood that he did the show probably because his wife -- Jewel -- wanted to? It's a shame she had to drop out, but I'm glad he's still on. Ty is adorable!
14. How do hiccups work? And what is the best remedy for getting rid of them?
15. When did my ears stop sticking out the way they did when I was a baby? Is my hair simply covering them up? Is that why Heavenly Father made my hair so curly?
16. Why are my hands so beat up? I have little scratches, bruises and scabs all over them. I get a new one nearly every day, but it's not like I'm hammering up drywall or anything... sheesh! My poor little hands!

100 Extra Steps
Since I don't have the desire to lay off the carbs anymore, I'm trying to move my body more than I usually would. This endeavor has been largely unsuccessful. However, I came up with a way to get at least 100 extra steps into my day at work.
My office is on the second floor of a three-story building. Instead of using the restroom on my floor, I take the stairs up to the third floor, then walk all the way to the first. I use the Ladies (sic) room on the first floor. Then I take the stairs all the way back up to the third floor and back to the second and go back to work.
This is, of course, if I'm not in a super-big hurry or with someone else. If I'm wearing flats, I jog the stairs. If I'm wearing heels I walk. It only takes a few extra minutes.
Not an exercise regiment, but it's something! And this way I feel slightly less annoyed with myself for succumbing to that Kneader's brownie this afternoon.

I'm Going on a Vacation!
Hooray! I haven't been on vacation since I went to Cedar City with my mother and grandmother last August. After that, I endured a crazy schedule at work, and I did another play, and then got sick for two months (up to and including today). My manager has been encouraging me for weeks to take a vacation, 'cause she knows how burned out I've been, though to be fair, I think everyone on my team has needed one.
My problem is, since I'm still fixer-upping the condo I feel guilty using the money I've saved up for some fancy vacation to somewhere I'm really excited about, like Italy, or New York, or a midwestern tour of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints history sites, or another cruise, or Disneyland. Plus, it's less fun to vacation by yourself, though now that I think of it, I have plenty of friends who could probably use a vacation, too...
Anyhoo, my friend Michelle B. called me a few weeks ago about the possibility of going to Phoenix, AZ for a few days. Our friend Jill is in the pageant at the Mesa Temple, and Michelle thought it would be fun to go down and see Jill and some of the friends we met on the cruise last year. I said I would be delighted to go! I miss Jill, would like to see those other friends, and am excited about the shopping and sitting by the pool.
Somewhat interesting fact: I served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in the Arizona Phoenix mission, but because I was always stationed in northern Arizona during Christmas and Easter, I wasn't able to see the Christmas lights at Temple Square, or the Easter Pageant. So, I am thrilled to be able to finally see the pageant! We did get to go to the Mesa Temple once every six months, even though it wasn't part of our mission. It's a gorgeous temple, and I'm really excited for Michelle to see it.
I bought my plane ticket yesterday. Michelle and I are planning to go the first weekend in April and just play, play, play. Yay!
Heaven knows I could use the break from the rest of real life!

Main Entry: et·i·quette
Pronunciation: \ˈe-ti-kət, -ˌket\
Function: noun
Etymology: French étiquette, literally, ticket — more at ticket
Date: 1750
: the conduct or procedure required by good breeding or prescribed by authority to be observed in social or official life

It would have been nice if I hadn't sent out an email spelling this word "edicutt" to the people on my ward's Communications Committee this week. I kind of want to send an email assuring everyone that I do know how to spell it, even if I couldn't remember at the moment, but I had already mentioned in that email that they'd spelled my name wrong. Turnabout is fair play, I suppose. I deserve their mockery and pity (no, there has been no mockery or pity that I know of).
I just hope nobody puts it on the calendar that way!!

Homer at the Bat

Last night, Fox aired my favorite episode of The Simpsons, entitled "Homer at the Bat". In this episode, Homer is the star of the power plant's softball team. When the team makes it to the championship game, Mr. Burns bets a million dollars his team will win, and then hires professional ball players as ringers. I recorded the episode and watched it twice last night. These lines are funny every time (though possibly less so when written and out of context)!
Mr. Burns: Smithers, is it wrong to cheat in order to win a million dollar bet?
Smithers: Yes, sir.
Mr. Burns: Let me rephrase that. Is it wrong if *I* cheat in order to win a million dollar bet?
Smithers: No, sir. Who would you like killed?
Homer Simpson: Hey Clemens, did I make the team?
Roger Clemens: You sure did.
Homer Simpson: Woo-hoo! In your face, Strawberry!
Roger Clemens: Wait a minute. Are you Ken Griffey Jr.?
Homer Simpson: No.
Roger Clemens: Sorry. Didn't mean to get your hopes up.
[Mr. Burns hired a hypnotist to make the plant softball team win]
Hypnotist: You are all very good players.
Players: [chanting in unison] We are all very good players.
Hypnotist: You will beat Shelbyville.
Players: [chanting in unison] We will beat Shelbyville.
Hypnotist: You will give one hundred and ten percent.
Players: [chanting in unison] That's impossible. No one can give more than one hundred percent. By definition that is the most anyone can give.
Mr. Burns: All right, you ragtag bunch of misfits! You hate me, and I hate you even more. But without my beloved ringers, you're all I've got. So I want you to remember some inspiring words that someone else might have told you over the course of your lives, and go out there and win!
Homer Simpson: You're Darryl Strawberry!
Darryl Strawberry: Yes.
Homer Simpson: You play right field.
Darryl Strawberry: Yes.
Homer Simpson: I play right field too.
Darryl Strawberry: So?
Homer Simpson: Well, are you better than me?
Darryl Strawberry: Well, I've never met you, but... yes.

File Taxes -- Check!
Last night I filed my taxes, and I must say it feels good. It's another one of those things I kept meaning to do but would forget about as soon as someone mentioned something else.
Then my mom mentioned on Sunday that the state of California ran out of money and had to start giving people IOUs on their returns. Ack!
Luckily, I'd been keeping all of last year's tax-related stuff in a manilla folder, so it was pretty much all together. I used TurboTax, which will do the Federal part for free but charges for State -- LAME! Really, though, it was easy and only took me a few hours. You know, something fun to do while watching the Dancing With the Stars. It pays to be single and only have to deal with one person's finances. That's really all I can handle at the moment!
Found out that the government was thrilled about my buying a house last year. Consequently, I am getting quite a hefty check. Yay! I can maybe afford a vacation now. Goodness knows I could use one. Just another thing I love about my lovely condo. Though, I feel a little guilty taking any money from the government during this economic downturn, even if it is mine.
Ah well. Taxes for this year are done a whole 5 weeks early. It's nice not to have procrastinated yet again.

Audition Decision
"Then from out of the blue
and without any guide
I know what my decision is...
which is not to decide."
- Stephen Sondheim, Into the Woods.
Okay, the above quote isn't quite accurate. After much deliberation and discussion with friends whose opinions I trust, and who understand me and my plight, I made the decision to go ahead and audition for all three of the plays I'm interested in and then see what happens.
In fact, I had my first audition last week: some friends are producing Pride and Prejudice independant of any theatre group. This is the one that prompted me to write the "Quandry" post. How can I not audition for this play? I LOVE Pride and Prejudice!! I admit, I am very attracted to the idea of doing a non-musical play. That's where I had most of my training, and to this day I feel much more confident as an actress than a singer. Though I love to sing more than any other activity in the world, it would be nice to perform without hiding behind the music, you know? Plus, I had a lot of fun brushing up on my proper English accent. "All who fear the law ought not to be caught!"
Well, the audition went well, I was called back for Jane, I went to the callback... and then I decided I don't really want to do that just now. While I am flattered -- the Jane in the Keira Knightly version was played by a Bond girl, after all -- I think Jane would be a bit of a stretch for me. I could do it, but I kind of just want to play a slightly more emotive role right now. Also, I'm not thrilled about being double-cast, I didn't want to pay $50 to do a show, and when it comes down to it, I would be disappointed not to audition for Taylorsville Arts Council's Oklahoma! and Midvale Arts Council's Seussical; I have been really excited about both of those plays for a while now. So, I pulled the director aside and said honestly that I didn't think the show would be a good fit for me. She was very supportive and understanding, and I sent her an email later thanking her for being so nice. She assured me we're still friends, which really is the most important thing. I panicked a bit yesterday afternoon about whether I'd made the right choice, but I believe that I have.
And now I'm even more excited to audition for Oklahoma! and Seussical. I wish I didn't have to wait 2 or 3 more weeks! Oh wait. I need to prepare audition pieces. I'll probably need those 2 or 3 weeks...
Recap: I auditioned for Pride and Prejudice and decided not to do it.
Left to audition for: Oklahoma! and Seussical.
P.S. Will someone promise to do Pride and Prejudice sometime so I can give it another go? Please?

Did anyone else forget about Daylight Savings yesterday? I did. Managed to make it to church on time anyway, but missed choir practice. Pretty proud of myself being able to sing the song in Sacrament without any prior run-through (I had heard it before). Thank you musical theatre training!
Planned to work from home this morning since the electrician is coming to install the electrical part of washer/dryer (well, just washer) hookups. Remember how yesterday was daylight savings? Oh, and the power must have gone out sometime during the night, because when I woke up I found it was 9:40... and I had 20 minutes to finish readying myself and my apartment for the electrician's arrival. I made it, but Ack!
Apparently the people downstairs moved out and took their wireless internet connection with them. And I need a separate part to set up my own. And I didn't know that Circuit City on Ft. Union was closing until Friday, so I completely missed on all the great electronics deals. Meanwhile, no wireless internet means I have to sit at my desk, or possibly on my comfy couch while working. The problem with sitting on my couch is that my brain automatically goes "I wonder what's on t.v." or "I sure would like to take a nap right now." The only problem with sitting at the desk is that I've got my globe on there, and it's currently rotated to Hawaii. Maybe I should put my globe on the ground for awhile...or just rotate it to Siberia. Done.
The electrician has so far drilled three holes into my ceiling. *Sigh.* Luckily, they're small so they shouldn't be too difficult to patch up.
No headache so far today!

The Von Smyth Family Singers
Today at our weekly family dinner, Lindsey announced that Adam had a brilliant family-activity suggestion. Adam was really excited to suggest we all sing karaoke. Now, if you've ever spent any time with my brothers, you know that I am the most boring person in my family. My brothers have way more charisma, imagination, and talent than I do, encouraged and matched by our fearless parents. Consequently, the foray into karaoke was hilarious -- all of us just singing together instead of one at a time -- especially since we started with songs we only knew part of, like "My Boo" and "Rock with You". It's amazing how unhelpful the instrumental is for those songs. "You Really Got Me" was a hit though, followed by "Bad Moon Rising", "Great Balls of Fire", "Can't Buy Me Love", "Tiny Dancer" (possibly the worst song ever), and "Heartbreaker". The G-unit accompanied us with some killer dance moves, which inspired Uncle Pete, Boppa, and Jordyn to try a "Dancing: Bollywood Style" tutorial. And hey! With karaoke on Demand with my parents' comcast subscription, we didn't even need to leave the house! Schweet!! Good times spent together makes for the best of Sunday evenings.(The photo is from Christmas a couple of years ago.)

Reapplying My Skills
I love stories, whether written or spoken, drawn or moving on a screen. Doesn't necessarily matter what the medium. I like learning about people through the stories they tell. I have spent a vast amount of time pondering and discerning lessons and character traits/flaws about the Harry Potter series and t.v. shows like LOST. I think about characters I've played and want to play and can tell you all about the motivations for any one of them (case in point, when I lay in bed last night for 3 hours unable to sleep and unable to get up and do anything else because of a massive headache, I thought about Amy March from Little Women and Jane Bennett from Pride and Prejudice. Someday, if you're nice, I'll tell you all about Amy. I feel she is very misunderstood.) I've thought about my and other people's relationships and could give a detailed account of who people are and why they behave the way they do, and dispense advice I believe would be helpful to any one of them in any given situation if they ask.
And yet, for a long time I didn't think I had an analytical mind. Here I have all this proof to the contrary, and I think I'm not deep. Nope. Truth is, I may simply misapply those skills to a large degree.
This all comes about because a few weeks ago I started posting my theories about LOST on the Players Anonymous website. After the first post, one guy said I blew his mind! Sweet! Who doesn't like to hear that? And it turns out we've discovered in subsequent episodes that part of one of the theories was correct! So, I learned that I can identify and put together clues. My college education wasn't a complete loss. And then I started to feel guilty about how much I think about this show. And then I thought, I need to apply these skills to actually making me a better person, not necessarily just a good conversationalist.
My current scripture "study" is really pathetic. I've gotten in the rut of just reading a few versus of the Book of Mormon each night before going to bed. I think I need to change my strategy. Last night, when I couldn't fall asleep and was thinking about Miss Amy and Miss Bennett, I realized that one of the best ways I figure out stories is to identify with the characters in it, or at least one of them. It makes the story more real and my mind attaches more importance to it.
And then I remembered that during my mission one of the study challenges was to study all of the scripture related to one of my Book of Mormon heroes and write a paper discussing all I'd learned. I studied Ammon -- the ultimate missionary -- and it was awesome! I learned that I could totally be just like Ammon if I had enough faith in my Savior and worked hard enough. It was an eye-opening and very cool experience!
So, I'm resolved to make my study of the scriptures more character-centric. Instead of just going through the motions and surfing through the stories, I'm going to pick certain people I want to learn more about, and start writing down my observations -- find out how they're like me and therefore how I can apply their lessons to myself. I plan to start with Moroni, son of Mormon. No, Helaman. No, Peter the Apostle.
Oh geez, just choosing someone to study is hard! This tells me this is a good idea for me.
Moroni. Definitely starting with him. I may continue to just read a few versus at a time, but I'll be writing my observations down, and that's a good step in the right direction. After all, I learn better by writing things down.
Yay! I have a plan to use my God-given intellect to deepen my relationship with Him. I'm excited! This is actually do-able!

Erm, just for my own records, some stuff I've predicted so far during the current season (5) of LOST: **Warning: spoilers**
[2/05/09] I am starting to wonder if Miles is the son of the guy in the Dharma Initiative videos... the baby that Dr. Chang was caring for at the beginning of in the series premiere. After all, everyone seems to have a tie to the island.
I also wonder if, the little blonde girl who marched Faraday out to the hydrogen bomb is the younger version of Mrs. Hawking (the character played by Fionnula Flanagan). Could she be Faraday's mom? We last saw Mrs. Hawking talking with Ben about getting everyone back to the island, but she also counseled Desmond back in the day about how you can't change your fate, which is also what Faraday keeps emphasizing. Also, young Widmore called that blonde girl "Ellie" which could be a derivative of "Eloise", which was Daniel's rat's name. He might have named that rat after his mother who encouraged him to research temporal displacement, since she'd already seen him in the 50s and knew he'd eventually need to know...
[2/11/09] Another thought: Maybe Ben replaced Widmore as the leader of the others, and that's why they hate each other so much, and why Widmore thinks of the island as his. I mean, Ben wasn't happy when Locke was unceremoniously made the new leader, either, but he sort of seemed to get over it for the sake of the island. I can imagine that even though Jacob's in charge there's still some friction when the leadership changes hands. Maybe when we get down to the nitty-gritty of the Ben/Widmore rivalry, we'll find out more about Richard and Jacob -- I really want to know more about those two?
Also, and this may not have anything to do with ANYTHING, I find it interesting that the actual leader of the others is named Jacob, and that people who are connected to the island keep finding their way back, kind of like the twelve tribes of Israel being scattered that will eventually be gathered together again. I used to think it significant that the character Ben was named after Israel's youngest son, but now that Locke's the new leader that doesn't work... I guess I could go totally crazy and suggest a New Testament crossover (John), but that's probably just plain silly.
[3/6/09] What if Jin taught Charlotte to speak Korean while he was learning to speak English?

Quandry over Upcoming Auditions
Okay, so the summer theatre season is coming up, and I am totally stressed out because there are several projects I'd really like to be involved in that start auditions this and next month. I can't handle doing more than one play at a time. I don't know which to choose!
At work, we'll be pounding out this next freakishly huge release starting in a week or so until at least the end of September (yeah, Happy Summer Season to me!), so if I'm going to do a show -- which I very much want to -- that show and my part in it have to be worth it creatively, socially, and time-wise.
I feel uncomfortable with just auditioning for all of them and seeing what happens. What if I get cast in the first one and then hate it? Or, what if I decide the show I want to do is the one with the latest auditions, so I miss all the others and then audition and not get cast? That's happened to me before. I refuse to believe I wouldn't be cast in any show, though there was that year when I auditioned for 5 community plays before being cast in one. Then the show I ended up doing was one of the worst theatre experiences I've ever had, though I did make some loved friends. (Doing a show I'm not excited about just for the sake of doing one is something I'd like to avoid if at all possible.)
No, no. It has to be a show I really want to do. But how do I pick?!
It doesn't help that all of the directors and many other people involved with each are friends of mine. I don't want to disappoint anyone. And I like to think each of these director/friends know me to be talented and would be thrilled to have me in their show, but there are just so many talented people out there! I loathe thinking "which do I have the best shot at?" because I just never know until I actually audition and hopefully go to callbacks and see what the competition is like and how the directors respond.
There is always the option not to do a show this summer... It would be my first time in years, but it is an option.
Gah! These are the kind of choices I try to avoid because they're so hard! Why, oh why can't someone else just make it for me? Oh yes, because I'm an adult and I have to live with the choice I make. I guess I'll just let you all know what I decide!

Someday
Just another dream role I hope to play someday:
(Miss Adelaide from Guys and Dolls, though I'd be thrilled to play Sarah Brown, too!)
