Christmas Dance Recital

MaKayla is our little dancing diva!  She looked adorable and did so great!  She loves dancing "on the big stage" and loves having all her family come watch her.  She danced to Angel From Now On and Jingle Bell Rock.  The videos are too big to load on here or in an email but they did load to Facebook.

We're not bias at all :) but we think she was the best!  She loved her flowers from Grandma Lola and Be-Bow.

Kayla was so excited to see everyone afterwards.  Her Garrett was able to come and he and Mike got her a new dancing Lalaloopsy!

Thanks to everyone for coming and supporting Miss KKat in person and in spirit.  It means the world to us!  We love you all!
You did amazing baby girl!  We are so proud of you!

Chocolate House

I've always wanted to try and decorate a ginger bread house.  I thought it would be something fun for us to do as a family for FHE.  I told Micah that I wanted to make one but that I wasn't sure that it would actually get eaten.  We picked a kit up and after Micah got home from work and we had eaten we opened it up to discover that it was a chocolate house kit.  I knew for sure that it would get eaten.

MaKayla loved the "frosting".  She would put a dab of chocolate "frosting" on her candy and then a dab in her mouth.  She thought it was great!

 James was loving all the candy.  More M&Ms made it in his mouth than on the house.

Today all that is left of our chocolate house is the front door, lol.  I'm liking this new Christmas tradition.

Christmas Tradition

MaKayla came home from school at the beginning of this month with a little note that said for sharing time at the end of the week the children would share one of their Christmas traditions.  I asked her what was something fun that we did every Christmas that she liked.  She said she loved getting a tree and decorating it.  We get a real tree every year and my Mom and Dad get the kids an ornament that reflects the kids personalities, and Craig and Lola get them an ornament with the year on it.

On the 8th we finally got a tree and the kids went to town decorating it.  MaKayla is very particular.  She knows exactly where she wants everything to go. 

James loved helping me get the lights out of the box.  To make sure that the strand works I like to plug them in and then start from the bottom of the tree and work my way up.  James got a strand out and plugged them in for me.  We all got the giggles when he noticed that half the lights wouldn't work and he exclaimed, "WHAT the hell?!"  He got the instructions out and tried to figure it out, lol.

St. George Thanksgiving

What is better than Thanksgiving and St. George?!  Nothing!  We got to go play with Grandma and Grandpa Estep for almost a week.  We had a blast playing in the backyard, going to the carousel, the park, the salon and the pool!  And to top it all of we had a great Thanksgiving dinner!

We got there late Tuesday night just in time for bed.  Wednesday we took a trip to a new fun hang out by the tabernacle.  They have a carousel and some water fountains to play in, the kids loved it!

I'm pretty sure that we rode the carousel more than six times.  James made friends with one of the statues.

Turkey day was fabulous!  We took the kids to the park with the rock climbing walls and got some wiggles out.

After the park we headed back to help Grandma make turkey dinner.  We ate outside in the perfect weather.  It was awesome!

Friday we did a whole-latta shopping!  It was great!  We got the kids pretty much taken care of for next spring and fall.  I got nine shirts and a scarf for $55!  I love you black Friday!
Saturday the girls left the boys and got pedicures!  We met Cena and her step-sister at the Nail Lounge and had a blast.  MaKayla sat on Cena's lap the entire time she got her pedicure.

Later that night we headed to the pool.  We got the giggles after James' first go down the slide, he lost is swimming trunks.

James got cold after his potty break so he snuggled Grandma until he was ready to party again.

We had a great time!  Thanks for having us Grandma and Grandpa!  You spoiled us rotten!

Seventh Anniversary

We celebrated seven years on the 19th!  Can you believe it has been seven years?!  Still love him!  Still like him!  Still gunna keep him!  I love you my Micah James!  You are my everything!

Happy Birthday!

November is the month of Birthdays in the Bowman Fam.  It was my Dad's birthday on the 12th and Jenni and Braxton's Birthday on the 14th.  We went out to eat with Jenni and Dad at Texas Road House on the 13th to celebrate them and their happy day.  Of course I forgot my camera.  We love all our birthday people and hope that their day was fabulous!

On the 17th we went out to eat for my Grandpa Bowman's birthday to Fredrico's.  It was so nice to see everyone and celebrate Grandpa!  We love you Grandpa!

Garb Bowling

Yes, we did it!  We went bowling!  Josh Sauce and Sara had to run out of town.  Grandma Lola was watching the kiddies so we thought we would invite them to go to Home Depot and build something.  They made cute little turkey napkin holders.  Afterwards we asked Bell and Mariah if they wanted to go to the mall, the arcade or the bowling alley.  They surprised us and chose bowling!  We were pumped because we love a good game of bowling.

The kids had a blast and so did the adults.  Grandma Lola is quite the bowler and had us all beat.  The last 4 frames they turned the lights off and had the cosmic bowling going.  The kids loved dancing around to the loud music and pointing to each others glowing clothes.  It was a great time.  Definitely a day to remember.

Merida and Spider-Man

Happy Halloween!  I asked MaKayla what she wanted to be for Halloween back in August and she said, "Brave!", aka Merida.  I was going to just buy her the costume, but I like making them so I got to work and finished in September so she got plenty of wear out of it before Halloween.

She could not wait for Halloween.  She was counting down the days like it was her birthday.  On Halloween she had dance and school, so she was excited for all the parties and candy.  We got her all dressed and sprayed and took her to dance.

After dinner we headed over to Grandma and Papa's house to do some trick or treating.  James and Papa were tryint out their scary teeth.

Grandma was a hot witch for school!  She had taken her costume off but Kayla and Jenni made her put it back on to get a picture.

Then we ran around the neighborhood for some candy, candy, candy!  James was a mad man running from door to door.  MaKayla just took her sweet time walking down the sidewalks to the next house.

We trick or treated at Grandma's house a few times. :)  Andy was handing out the candy so we knew we would get enough treats.

Can you tell we were tired by the end of the night?  We busted a move out to the car hoping to stop by Josh and Sara's but Kayla fell alseep five minutes into the ride.

My Baby Is 5!

She's 5!  She's 5!  Kayla has been looking forward to her birthday for months!  It finally came!  Wednesday day was a busy one with dance, grocery shopping and school.  She loved having all her family call and sing to her.  She took cookies and cupcakes to school to share with all of her friends.  She loved being the enter of attention and wore her birthday crown everywhere.

We got MaKayla a Lalaloopsy doll and train that sings and chugs on it's own.   Daddy came home with some beautiful flowers for our special girl and Andy and Jenni stopped by to give Kayla her "freaky baby".  She loves her baby and has played with it every day and slept with it every night since getting it.

Sunday MaKayla had her primary program and everyone was coming so we decided to have her party afterward at our house.  She did such a great job in the program and sang her little heart out and delivered her part like a champ!  She makes us very proud and you couldn't get the smiles off our faces.
We ate some awesome chili and then it was time to opened lots of presents!  She was spoiled rotten by her grandparents.

Then we had some delicious cupcakes.  She loves Merida from Brave so of course she had to be on the cake!  Grandma and Papa brought her favorite blue ice cream from Aggie Ice Cream.  She was in heaven!

We had a great time eating chili, talking, hanging out and abusing our guests.

Before Be-Bow could leave James had him read a few books.  James didn't make it through the second one,  he was all partied out.

Happy 5th Birthday Kayla baby!  We love you and are so proud of you!  You are growing up so fast.  You are smart, funny, and such a joy to our home.  You are such a great big sister and James loves you so much.  She loves fruit bars, chocolate peanut butter (Nutella), fruit snacks, potato chips,  fruit snacks and anything chocolate.  Her favorite toy to play with is her new "freaky baby" from Andy and Jenni.

First Snow Fall

You would have thought it was Christmas up in here when the kids woke up this morning.  Bright white snow was everywhere!  MaKayla and James were freaking out and wanted to head out and build a snowman...stat.

It was cold.  It was wet.  And it was windy!  Ahhh!  Not my favorite combo.  I'm just glad the kids only lasted 10 minutes because this mama was cold!

James was "wooooheeeew"ing all the live long...ten minutes and Kayla was perfecting her snowball making skills.

It's amazing what a little white stuff will do to your day.  Happiness my friends!  Happiness!

I know it looks like the snowball is headed for James' head but trust me when I say it fell short or we would have had one sad little man.  Instead we had pure joy!

Pumpkin Walkin'

Have you ever seen a happier boy in your whole life?!  No way!  We got to ride the bus up to the Pumpkin Walk!  Best ever!  We went on Thursday night and then got to go again for a field trip for MaKayla's class today.

The displays were so cute.  The theme was games.  They had Candy Land, Hungry Hippos and Madagascar.  MaKayla's class did a display.  She was so excited to show us.  They did Ants In The Pants.  When I asked MaKayla what she had decorated her pumpkin as she told me a lady bug, so I was surprised when they were ants.

It's amazing how many pics I took and not one of them is James looking at me.  Love his silly little face.  Micah even jumped in as Woody.

 

We met Kayla's class at the Pumpkin Walk today.  She loved showing off her ant.

The wind started blowing like crazy while we were eating our cookies.  It was blowing the leaves around and it looked so cool!  James was admiring them.

Then we had to hit up a few more cut outs that we missed.  Greg and Jan in the house.

Octoberness

Man, October snuck right up on us.  We haven't been up to much but here are a few pics of the first few weeks of October.

Nothing like a little cousin time huddled around the iphone watching movies from Netflix.

Jake brought James some Wranglers and James needed some new boots to wear with them so we did a little boot shopping.  MaKayla of course needed a pair too.  I think James has worn hit boots and pants every day since.

The first week of October we celebrate a birthday everyday.  We had cake and ice cream to celebrate Bella, Sara and Grandma Estep's birthday.  James found a seat with his favorite person Grandpa Estep.

The first Saturday of October we headed over to "Home Nepo" for their work shop.  It is fire safety month and the kids always have a blast making something but to top it all off there was a fire truck and a go-kart simulator that Micah took the kids on.

Every Monday, Wednesday and Friday while Kayla heads off to school I get to snuggle my sweet little man and put him down for a nap.

Conference weekend MaKayla got to sleep over at "Grandma Mowman's" house and so we took James out for breakfast the next morning.  Our new favorite joint is Herm's!  It's the bomb.com.  James needed to go potty so I took him down and found a shoe shine perfect for a pic.  My cute boys.

One day after we dropped MaKayla off at school, James and I stopped at the Island Market to get some cider but they were out so we settled on Frazils instead.
