MM: Family Trips

We LOVE taking family trips. As a child, my parents would take us to summer trips every year. Now that I  have my own children, I try my best to take them to different places every now and then. Then once a year, we take a "major trip" somewhere. This year we decided to take the kids to Chicago, Las Vegas, and Denver.

A Great 2011

We are having a great 2011 so far.

So many achievements and so many happy moments. But I would say that the best so far was when my hubby finally graduated. The road was hard and LONG. He did it while working full time and providing for us. He did it even when he was getting deployed every other year. He pursued his dreams and after 12 long years he finally got his college diploma! He now has a double degree and is currently trying to get enrolled to get his Masters Degree. So proud of our HERO.

Mommy Moments: Summer Plans

So what will you be doing with your kids this summer?

Aside from going to waterparks and swimming pools, one of the main events that we are looking forward to is Nica's Ballet Recital in May.

She has been enrolled in dance class since this January and it's a combo class on Tap Dancing, Ballet, and Gymnastics. She loves it a lot and looks forward to the weekly lessons.

In May, the whole dance school will have a recital. But here are some photos of their weekly practices:

My husband and son DARED to step on the glass ledge-- but I didn't! I was too scared. 

Look at how high we were. It gave me goosebumps just looking out the window-- I would not even dare step on that scary ledge hahahaha

Walking for Breast Cancer!

I will be participating with my team from the hospital to the Breast Cancer Awareness Walk on May 1st here in Albuquerque.

Chicago Trip

Visited Chicago for a week. I must say we had a great time there! I wish we could move there kaso wala naman Air Force base around the vicinity. Oh, well. Maybe when Jay retires ;)

Chicago, Here We Come!

So we're spending the Spring Break in Chicago-- not exactly the warmest place on earth during mid-March. But hubby has family there and we have not seen them in years. It's the perfect time to reconnect. Also, since I have personally never been there before, it's a mini-tour for me. Can't wait to visit Shedd Aquarium, Millennium Park, and the Navy Pier-- just to name a few.

I will try my best to post photos of my visit. I'll try using my iPhone to post but it's not a promise since I sometimes get problems posting using blogger app.

My New BABY!!!!

Ok. So I finally retired my bulky DSLR and opted for the newer and sleeker SONY NEX. At first I thought it was going to disappoint me but I was surprised that it held up well with my old Canon T1i in terms of photo quality. Also, it is more user-friendly. Although I have to stay that it confused me initially since the function buttons are all digital. But I got used to it real quickly.

It has a removable flash and battery life is fairly decent. I had several bad experiences with Sony batteries, but this one lasts me a couple of days even with hours of shooting.

My Kids Loves the Museum

Early on in life, I have made it a point to expose my kids to museums and libraries. While most people think these places are somewhat "boring", my kids jump up and down whenever I tell them we'll be visiting the museums or the local libraries.

I think having them appreciate these sort of stuff make them more learned. I always suggest to new mommies to take their babies to educational places instead of hanging out at McDonald's.

So I downloaded the BLOGPRESS LITE app on my iPhone. I was thinking it's gonna make posting easier--since I don't carry my laptop around with me all the time. But I do have my iPhone with almost all the time. So hopefully I will remember to use this app!

Girls Talk: Work Resolution

There is really one resolution that I want to keep this year:

Seriously. I come to work-- well, to work!
I don't like getting involved with everyone else's drama, back-stabbing, and whining! We are all lucky to find work and get paid even if the economy is really bad right now.

I try my best to ignore other people's whining and complaining. But sometimes you just get sucked into it when they try to involve you or they even try get you in trouble.

I hate work drama. Really. So this year, even if something or someone irritates me I will just ignore it (Lord, give me Patience!!!!).
