Hi, ladies! Do you have cupboards in your kitchen that can barely close? Do you need to put on a hard hat before opening certain closets? Do you purchase a new role of duct tape because you just can't find the one you purchased last month, or the last month, or the month before that? Do you have cake mixes in your pantry that you purchased during the pregnancy of your child who is getting baptized next month? Well...if so, you are not alone! I personally have all these organizational issues...(and a lot more, but I digress). For me, the problem with organizing is that it is such a daunting task, I just never take the first step. I just cram stuff in the closet and walk away hoping no one opens it unsuspectingly and gets a concussion.
I would like to start an organization accountability group on Facebook called "Baby Steps to Being Organized or I Will Get My Stuff Together Eventually, I Am Not in a Rush." The group would work like this...each Monday, I will give the group a small (read: super manageable) task, like organizing a shelf in the bathroom or drawer in a desk. Each member of the group would have one week to complete that task and then report back to the group that they have completed it. Sharing things you learned while completing the task would earn you extra bonus points and virtual smiley-face stickers, of course.
If you are interested in being a part of this group, please comment on the blog post or on Facebook and I will add you to the group. Thanks, everyone!
