Christmas 2011

I know this is two months late. Blogging has not been high on my priority list.


We spent Christmas Eve with some great friends. All the kids helped act out the nativity.

This is my attempt to get a nice Christmas morning picture of the kids before church. At least it makes me smile.

Broken Teeth

Last Thursday Tyler and Samantha were riding their scooters home from school. As Tyler was riding along his scooter hit a rock or something on the sidewalk causing him to go fly over his scooter. Tyler was wearing a helmet however he landed teeth first. He did not have any scratches on his face but he did break his two front teeth. Tyler was so upset about it. He felt so guilty and embarrassed. It wasn't until I showed him pictures on the internet of other kids with broken teeth and repeatedly expressed to him that it was an accident and not his fault that he started to feel better.



Our in house artist and only witness to the crash drew me this picture to help me understand what happened. I went to her and asked "Sam, how did Tyler crash?" She said "Let me draw you a picture it will be easier to explain." (She is so much like her uncle Neal.)


At first Tyler refused to let me take a picture but I finally convinced him that he would want a picture to look back at.


I called our dentist's office and they fit Tyler into her busy schedule the next morning. Apparently she specializes in tooth trauma so lucky us. Even more lucky was that Tyler had no root damage. She used the resin material used for filling cavities and a little mold and his teeth look almost as good as new. His teeth look normal now however the resin is not as strong as normal teeth so his days of biting into apples, corn on the cob, carrots, etc with his front teeth are over.

Santa

Last week the kids and I went to Bass Pro Shops to see Santa. The kids loved all the activities. The twins were scared of Santa so I didn't make them take a picture but I did convince them to get close enough to take a candy cane from Santa.


Before we saw Santa I tried to take a few picture of the kids. Collin did not want to participate and Lincoln needed some bribery. We were near water and Joel wasn't with us so I had to be really fast. I wish I had more time to set up my shots better but being solo with five kids I think they turned okay.

We went to a birthday party at The Little Gym and our kiddos had a great time climbing, flipping, jumping and balancing on the equipment.
