Queen Cicely

Cicely participated in solo dance competition again this year. It was only her second time and other than a few nerves, she did awesome. She one her category this year and will be moving up to the intermediate level nextyear.

We love you Cicely and are so proud of you. You are a beautiful and amazing young woman.

Ever since Cicely did her duet with Scout last year, Hailey has been begging me to do a solo. Well Hailey is pretty hard to resist, so I choreographed her a solo. She will be competing this Friday in Parowan, and I must say I think she'll be pretty hard to beat. Regardless, she did a great job when she performed at all all star basketball game last week.

HAPPY EASTER!!!!

Well despite what the weather man says, it was Easter Weekend last week. We had a great time!!! Thursday night Jason and I went to Salt Lake City and saw "Wicked" with my mom. It was amazing and everything everyone says it is. I highly recommend if you ever get the chance you go. I for one could see it again and again. Next time, I will make sure and get a ticked for Cicely as well.

Saturday we went to Hurricane for the Annual Easter Party. We had an egg hunt, BBQ, and dyed red root eggs. Kim and Melinda were able to join us. It was great to see them and their boys. One of their boys (sorry can't remember which one) asked where all the color was when were were doing the eggs. I don't even think my kids know how to do colored eggs.

Grandma Betty supplied the stuffed animals. Cicely was excited there was a turquoise one to match her room.

Here's my Klellin cheesing it in his new "abercrombie clothes". He was so excited when he tried them on, I couldn't resist buying them even if they were a little expensive.

We made arrangements for the Easter Bunny to arrive early this year because Jason had early morning High Council meetings Easter Sunday. To our amazement when we returned from Hurricane Saturday night the Easter Bunny had already arrived. He went a little overboard this year. Hailey received a Nintendo DS, Klellin got Baseball equipment, and Cicely got a lamintor/magnet/sticker maker. Next year when the History Fair comes along Cicely will be all set.

Of course, I also got my kids new Easter Clothes. Don't they all look so cute!!!!!

Sunday we went up to the the Bradshaw House for another egg hunt. This one covers a much wider space. The kids ran through the fields to discover their eggs and I think this year they actually found all of them.

This is Jason's first cousin Logan with Klellin. They are the same age and are good friends.

Grandma Janie gave all the kids new sunglasses and flip flops for Easter. Here Hailey is posing with Brasil!!

We decided it was time to get grandpa a new picture of all the grandkids on one of his cars. Here they are all 11 girls and Klellin on grandpa's newest edition, a "69 Camero. This was in pieces when they received it. After a little hard work and a lot of money, it's looking pretty sweet!!!

Okay, I had to take one of Klellin since he is the only boy. I figure by the time he is about 12 he is going to be the most popular kid in town between all the girl cousins and the cars!!!

After the Easter Egg Hunt and Dinner it was time for the Inaugural Kickball Game of the Season. The weather was a little chilly, but that didn't stop us from playing. It has become a Sunday afternoon (or whatever day it happens to be) tradition when the family is all together to play kickball in grandma and grandpa's front yard. We have a ton of fun and start out keeping score, but by the end we never know who wins.

I believe this game ended up being all the in-laws vs. the true bloods!!! I think the in-laws actually won.

A Gold Cup and Regional History Fair Win!!!

As many of you know I have a wonderful daughter name Cicely. She never ceases to amaze me. I wish I was as talented as she's going to turn out to be. Maybe every generation gets better. Cicely and her friend Scout did their History Fair Project on Elvis Presley this year. The worked hard and a lot of fun learning all about Elvis. Their hard work paid off. After tying for second place on the school level they competed in the regional history fair in St. George and won the whole dang thing. Congratulations Cicely and Scout!!!

I know I sure learned a ton about Elvis helping them put the project together. They've decided they want to do it again next year and hopefully qualify for the state and national competition. They weren't old enough this year.

She also partcipated in the violin festival again this year. Four years now with four superior performances. She is becoming quite the little violinist. Last year she recieved her first gold cup for solo competition and this year she received her first gold cup for duet competition.

This is her duet partnet Ashylnn Howard. These pictures were taken at the gold cup recital here in Beaver about 2 weeks after competition. As you can see they were relieved to be finished.

Is it April Already?

Okay so where did February and March go. We have been so busy running from one activity to another. Klellin starting playing basketball mid-February. He had a lot of fun and played hard, unfortunatly his team didn't win any games. Klellin has decided he wants to be a 3 point shooter and made many attempts throughout the season. He actually even made a few. It drove his mom nuts, but he had a lot of fun and his face was priceless when he made it.

This is game 1 of the season. I think they lost by 1 point.

Not every kid gets a chance to shoot a free throw on the Jazz Court. To bad he didn't make it.

This years special guests were Boozer and Okur. I wish I had gotten a picture of Klellin's face when Boozer came out. It was priceless.

And our course, we had to take a picture in front of the Stockton/Malone statue.

IF ONLY IT WERE THIS EASY!!

So Hailey's new thing when she's helping me switch the wash is to climb into the dryer. She climbs in and asks me to shut the door so she can go to London and play with Maddie. So I shut the door and she magically flies to London only to return a few short minutes later. If I could climb in my dryer and it would take me to all the places I want to go I would love it. Just think of all the traveling I could do. I knew dryers were made for something more fun than laundry!

My Dad Can't Do Toe Touches!!!

Hailey is my little cheerleading and is always practicing her round-offs and toe touches. The other day we were at Grandma Janie's office and she was showing off her skills to some of the guys in the office. Now you need to know that Jason works quite closely with these guys even though he works in the Cedar office so they know him well.

Anyway after her performance Derrick was telling her what a wonderful job she did and mentioned to Hailey that her dad could probably do toe touches too. To everyone's amazement her quick response was "My dad can't do toe touches, he has one short arm and the other one is always full of food!"

I don't know which was funnier, hearing that Hailey made this statement or having Derrick tell me the story. I laughed so hard I cried and had to sit down. I wonder if Jason made a new year's resolution to lose weight?
