We were advised by our lender like he does for every client to not purchase anything large until we closed on our home. Ruben's car was leaking antifreeze and having a few other issues for weeks before we closed. We just kept making temporary fixed because when we found out how much it would cost to fix it, it wasn't worth it to us. We are not very materialistic people. We'd rather save our money than spend it if we don't have to. We always have said that we would drive that car into the ground and we did just that. We sold it right before the 200,000 mile mark. It was a bit bittersweet for both of us. That was my first car and it was my car in college and took me to and St. George numerous times a month. It was our only car for the first 3 weeks of our marriage then it was Ruben's commuter car for the last 7 years. It was a heck of a good car! Rarely had a problem and it got us safely whenever one of us drove it. We knew we had to buy a new car before the end of August because it was due for registration and we weren't wanting to have to pay for it just to turn around and sell it. We originally were looking at commuter cars but when nothing stood out to us as the right one, we ended up finding an SUV for an awesome deal and great condition. It's turned out to be a blessing to have 2 SUVs now. It's been so helpful for Ruben to have on as well and we are thankful for the decision we made and for finding it.
