I UP!

We don't have a yappy little dog that wakes everyone up.
Nor a large one.
We don't play our music loud, for all to hear.
We just have a three year old boy who boisterously announces out the window, at 7 in the a.m., "Dal up!! I up!!"

W-O-R-K

You just keep DEMANDING that vacuum. And refuse to give it back.
Because it's nice to put my feet up every once in a while.
Let's just keep it secret.
Vacuuming is W-O-R-K.

Lulu's First Piggie

And now, for your entertainment, I present to you:

Ike, honey, you blew me away.

Hi, Bob.

As we went to get in the car today, in the preschool parking lot, Dallin noticed a man in a construction hat getting some things out of the trunk of his car right next to ours.
Dallin waved to him. "Hi, Bob." He said it just as if he had seen our next door neighbor. And then he proceeded to "sing" the Bob song.
"He thinks you're Bob the Builder," I explained to construction man.
"Hey buddy," he exclaimed to Dallin, "do you watch my cartoon?"
"Yes," came the reply, again, as calm and nonchalant as could be.
"See you later buddy!" Bob walked away.
"Bye, Bob." Dallin said as he climbed into the car.

Hello goodbye.

Thanks for all your sweet comments and your love. I feel it clear across the country. Our week has been quite busy. Lots of new things and also some goodbyes. Dallin's SLP has gotten a new job, and today was Dallin's last session with her. So, yes, I cried again, for the third day in a row. I hate goodbyes. We all love Allison and hope that she loves her new job. We have figured that she has spent close to 95 hours over the past year helping Dallin learn to talk. And boy has he come a long way.
When he first started speech therapy, he could only do a whole lot of pointing and grunting. Now, we hear: mommy, daddy bobby, poopoo, peepee, shoe, sock, I am Dal, owee booboo, bobby waa waa waa, dude, roll, you get the point. He has a lot of words now!
"Bye, bye, Als." Dallin repeated over and over down the hall.
On our way out, we said goodbye to the Thursday hospital volunteers, because we have to change therapy to Tuesdays. They have been so good to us! They always say HI to Dallin. They have helped me get my kids to the car many times when it was raining. Did I mention that I hate goodbyes.
Anywho... I made this cute scarf for Allison. I had to take a picture, right?

Let's not talk...

about Dallin's REFUSAL to get on the bus this morning, or about taking him myself instead, or about the DEATH grip that he had around my neck, or the screaming, wailing, and gnashing of teeth when I left. He did this when he started nursery, he did this when he start speech therapy last year. Now, he wants to skip Sacrament meeting to go to nursery and he runs through the hospital halls to get to his SLP, Miss Allison. He got through it. I got through it. He will get through it. So we are not going to talk about it, OK?

We will talk about Ellie and how she loves to plead her innocence.

"I wasn't eating tissue, I promise!"

D Day

Today we took Dallin to preschool. But first, the new hair-do. It will grow back, it will grow back, it will grow back! Totally my fault! And NO, I will not buzz it. Buzzing hair is a personal choice, and I personally choose not to let Dallin or Paul do it. Yes, I am controlling. Now back to Dallin. He can't wait to get there. Little does he know that mom and dad aren't staying the whole day. He was pretty excited to see his teacher and he loved that his name was written all over the place.
Oh, those brown eyes! They will get him far!
Bye, sweetie! I love you, I will miss you, give me a kiss, give me a hug. OK, I guess we should leave now.......
Walking down the hall, the tears threaten to come. "Oooohhhhh, Mamma!" a sympathetic bystander exclaims as I sulk past. I am going to wait to bawl my eyes out until I get to the car. Paul walks back to the classroom and looks through the one-way window. Our boy is crying. I shouldn't have gone back, Paul regrets, I now have to know that he's upset all day. Sitting in the car, crying, I wanted to go back in and get him and take him home. We drove away.
It will be OK.
