Update January and February

Saroyan for Aunt Rebecca is finished. We haven't seen her yet so I havent had a chance to give it to her.








In January I also made a hat/mitten set for my nephew. I have to go back and upload photos of that.

The most recent, and most exciting project I've done was this pair of socks:



I knit them in 8 days!!!! They were started during the Superbowl adn finished the following Monday. I'm still in shock.

Currently I'm working on an All Shawl as my project during the Olympics. At this point I'm up to the edging so I think it should be finished in time.

Chemo Hat for Donation

Just a quick post as I'm on my way out the door to my Crochet Club Meeting.

I just wanted to get the chemo cap I made posted before I leave. There's been a lot going on here so I haven't been able to post too much. Hopefully I'll be able to post the details when I return from the meeting.

Comments: I love this pattern! More importantly Rob loves this hat, which is saying alot because he is extremely picky! This hat goes with his work coat, I will be making others to match his other coats.

January Projects

Each month I'm going to choose 1 crochet project, 1 knit project, 1 UFO, 1 pair of socks, and 1 Christmas present to work on. Those will be my focus projects for the month. As I finish a project in each category I can replace it with a new one. Hopefully this will limit the number of UFOs I create. I've got a huge list of UFOs that I will deal with another day.

January Projects:
Crochet: Reversible Strands for Men hat for Rob *DONE 1/2/10*
Knit: Saroyan for Aunt Rebecca's birthday
UFO: Rob's Mile A Minute afghan - just needs to be put together
Socks: TBD
Christmas: A bear dress for Jamie...if I can figure out where I put the yarn for it! If not, I'll pick something else.

A Fresh Start For The New Year

This year needs to be about stashbusting. I've been feeling very overwhelmed by the amount of yarn in my stash lately. It's busted out of the yarn closet and is all over the place. At the moment I've got yarn in three rooms of the house...in order to get organized.

To help with Operation Stashbust 2010 I've joined three groups on Ravelry:
1. Stash Knit Down (I was a member of this last year but failed miserably.)
2. 10 in 2010
3. 10 Shawls in 2010

I've completed my list for 10 in 2010. It's a mix of knit and crochet projects, large and small, that I hope to accomplish this year. As for the 10 Shawls in 2010, I've got a list of 22 shawls/wraps that I'd like to make. I'll choose a new pattern each time I complete a pattern.

This week I'll be posting my lists and some other ideas I have to keep myself on track this year.

Bye Bye 2009

Haven't posted in quite some time. Many computer issues this summer. Then the computer totally died in September. Finally got a new one in November...just in time for the holidays.

I lost track of the 100 Ball Challenge. I'm going to try and go back into Ravelry and see what I missed and figure out a rough estimate of how many balls I used.

Hoping I'll have better luck with computers this year and I can get back to posting. Spent the past week trying to organize the stash and make sure everything is in Rav. Planned out some knitting/crocheting for January and made a list of all my UFOs (it's a long one). I'm looking forward to get control of my stash in 2010. I've joined a few stashbusting groups on Rav and have come up with a plan, more on that tomorrow. Right now I'm going to go get ready for company.

Ever since I made my husband a stocking for Christmas last year my father has wanted one. I actually think he was disappointed when he didn't get one for Father's Day. I just figured I'd wait until Christmas to give it to him. Apparently that wasn't good enough. So here it is...a little bit of Christmas in August.
