So the baby talks come again. Alyssa asked me, "how did Aunt Tan get a baby in her tummy?" My response was, "from Heavenly Father." Well of course that doesn't suffice a 4 year-old curious mind so she asks, "How did he gibed (give) it to her?" Well this is when I am grateful for a short attention span and the convo ended. Phew! eluded another difficult question.

Blog Hi-Jacking

Cam and his chickens..... What more is there to say. It is an indescribable relationship. You would have to see it to believe it. After he got the new ones for his birthday he was taking them on a walk and taking Egg orders. :)

Shawn Vincent Sargent (1970-2009)

On Tuesday, October 6, 2009 our son, cheerful companion and understanding friend, and pied piper of all children set aside the burdens he carried in this life, and stepped through the veil to greet those who had proceeded him. He took one last look back, then one glance ahead to the open arms of family. Go with God young man! Shawn was born October 11, 1970. He is survived by his two beautiful daughters, Nyki & Sage, their mother and friend, Paula. Parents, Jack & Barbara Sargent of Oakley; brothers: Stewart (Chandra), Coalville; Brian (Krista) Hoytsville, David (Clara) Kamas; Steven (Staci) Woodland, Paul (Ruby), Peoa; Jeffrey (Rashelle) Oakley; Sisters: Angela (Mike) Cummings, Kamas; Marya (Chad) Wright, Chalk Creek; Lezlee (Mark) Goronson, Las Vegas, NV; and Sister-in-law, Martha Sargent Stembridge, Peoa; and his "little buddies" 40 nephews and nieces, and 13 great nephews and nieces. Funeral service will be on Saturday at 12 noon in the Kamas LDS Stake Center, 3038 SR32 in Marion, Utah. Friends may call at the church on Friday evening from 6 to 8 pm and on Saturday one hour prior to the service

I still am in disbelief that Shawn is gone from our lives. One of my nephews said that he keeps thinking this is a dream, but he knows his dreams don't last this long. I feel the same way. The part that breaks my heart the most is thinking of what my kids are now missing from their lives. They both loved Shawn with all their hearts. Cam would constantly bug him to come play and spend the night. It's not often that you can find a grown man to put aside everything and make little kids feel like they are the only thing that matters in the whole world.

Shawn was a friend to everyone he met and would do anything for anyone. He will be deeply missed and never forgotten.

Emily did an amazing job.  Cam was not quite so cooperative, he kept gritting his teeth and kind of scowling.  

Little Helper

Since I had a ball game tonight I decided to look for my uniform to see if it needed washed.  Of course, it did, so I threw it in the washer and later made the comment to Alyssa that I needed to put it in the dryer so it wasn't wet for the game.  A while later I remembered to go change the laundry, when to my surprise, the dryer was going with just my jersey inside.  She emptied the dryer and dug my shirt out of the washer and started the dryer all by herself and without saying anything to me.  How thoughtful of a 4 year old!  

Another one bites the dust

So to go along with the 16 chickens we HAD to have this spring Tasia and Jer brought the kids home one day with 3 ducks.  Cam has loved them and will spend literally hours playing with them and holding them.  Well a few weeks ago we came home to find the dog had gotten ahold of one of the black ducks.  Cam was devastated and cried hysterically for an hour.  -- no joke.  

Well, last night Tasia's dog came for a little stroll and snatched the yellow duck.  So now we are down to 1 duck left.  

So all day Cam has spent every second that he has been home outside holding the single, remaining duck and all the chickens.  I know it's sad, but it is funny to see him so attached and caring for these little critters.  

** On a side note- the older chickens started laying eggs, so this is taking off some of the sorrow about the ducks.  

Here is the latest-- While Paul and Jay were coming home from work on the yucky dirt logging roads they managed to do what we all fear when driving on those roads.... rolling the truck.  Here are a couple pictures, they posted backward the first is after we rolled it over on it's wheels.

After Paul called and let me know they had wrecked he told me he already had someone on their way to pick them up, but in case I was wondering he had already called and canceled the tires he had just ordered.  What!  That would be the last thing on my mind right after this.  Oh well, I'm just glad he let me know :) and that everything was fine.  Jay ended up with a cut on his hand and they are both sore.  

I know it's been a while since I've posted anything, so here are a few random pictures.

Sargent Updates

So Tanya and I decided we needed to High-Jack Ruby's blog and add some pictures and updates for everyone. They stay very busy at their house. Ruby graduated from school with her Bachelor's degree in Education. However, she decided to continue on and is currently taking more classes which takes up the majority of her time when she is not working and trying to raise her two kids along with the random niece and nephews that always like to visit.
Paul is staying as busy as he always is. Not sure what he would do without 20 projects to keep him busy.
Cameron is enjoying first grade. He started playing a junior league basketball team and he has great fun doing that especially when playing against his cousin Jayce. Some of he's favorite things to do according to him:

Play Soccer & Football

Alyssa is going to preschool two times a week and is always so busy we aren't sure how her mom keeps up. Alyssa's favorite things to do according to her:

It has been almost two weeks since Emma was sick and we are hoping she is no longer contagious Emma had been asking for Lys to come play for a very long time and she finally came over today, so of course we played doctor and Emma got to show Lys everything she learned while in the hospital.

Sporting the masks we stole from the hospital. Emma still gets a little freaked when she sees someone put these on. Lys however refused to take hers off which didn't make Emma too happy. :)

Cam has become quite the little skier. He has an amazing natural ability to pick up on things and he is so impressive when it comes to skiing. We sent him on one lesson and the instructor said that there was nothing she could teach him, she just kept taking him down hard runs to keep him from going too fast. She says by next year he will being skiing any Black Diamond run he wants. Way To Go CAM!!
