Here's some of my wedding inspiration.  A world filled with nostalgic memories, old world romance and ethereal beauty.  Embrace the feminine form in exaggerated silhouettes, luxurious textures, intricate embellishments and a touch of romantic lace. Beautiful vintage treasures that whisper of times gone by….

Words of Wisdom to kick start 2011

A little bird was flying south for the Winter. It was so cold the bird froze and fell to the ground into a large field.
While he was lying there, a cow came by and dropped some dung on him.
As the frozen bird lay there in the pile of cow dung, he began to realize how warm he was.
The dung was actually thawing him out!
He lay there all warm and happy, and soon began to sing for joy.
A passing cat heard the bird singing and came to investigate.
Following the sound, the cat discovered the bird under the pile of cow dung, and promptly dug him out and ate him.

Morals of the story:
(1) Not everyone who shits on you is your enemy.
(2) Not everyone who gets you out of shit is your friend.
(3) And when you're in deep shit, it's best to keep your mouth shut!

An eagle was sitting on a tree resting, doing nothing. A small rabbit saw the eagle and asked him, "Can I also sit like you and do nothing?"
The eagle answered, "Sure , why not."
So the rabbit sat on the ground below the eagle and rested.
All of a sudden, a fox appeared, jumped on the rabbit and ate it.

Moral of the story: To be sitting and doing nothing, you must be sitting very, very high up.

A turkey was chatting with a bull. "I would love to be able to get to the top of that tree," sighed the turkey, "but I haven't got the energy."
"Well, why don't you nibble on some of my droppings?" replied the bull.
"They're packed with nutrients."
The turkey pecked at a lump of dung, and found it actually gave him enough strength to reach the lowest branch of the tree.
The next day, after eating some more dung, he reached the second branch.
Finally after a fourth night, the turkey was proudly perched at the top of the tree.
He was promptly spotted by a farmer, who shot him out of the tree.

Moral of the story: Bullshit might get you to the top, but it won't keep you there.

There you go,
Happy New Year!

All I Want For Christmas Is You

I don't want a lot for Christmas
There's just one thing I need
I don't care about the presents
Underneath the Christmas tree
I just want you for my own
More than you could ever know
Make my wish come true
All I want for Christmas is...
You

7 days left

With a blink of an eye, 3 months have gone by.
How time passes by so quickly.
I will miss the peace and quietness of this house.
I will miss this hilly, cobbly and windy city of Edinburgh,
Most importantly, I will miss the man living here. =(

Been spending my weekends in the library. Me doing work and ken studying for his CA1 paper. It has been pretty busy and stressful for the past weeks.
I finally took time off today for some retail therapy, feels like forever since I last step foot in those shops. Managed to buy a scarf for ken and a beret for myself. It's been getting extremely cold here, sometimes as low as 2 degree celsius during the night. Time to turn on those heater baybeh…=/

re-roll time

Have you ever wondered which is the right way to put the toilet paper on the roll? Every single time I lay my ass on the bowl, it frustrates me that I had to flip it gain. Me and Ken have been debating about this issue for quite some time now. I think that hanging the bog roll with the sheets coming over the top is the right way, yet he thinks pulling it from the bottom is more convenient. And after 2 whole months of flipping and trying to convince him which is the correct way, I had to prove my point to stop this frustration.So, I did some research on the internet. And as to my surprise, there have been various debate about this as well. Here goes;

  • 51% of folks hang it with the paper dangling over the top.
  • 24% hang it with the paper dangling at the back.
  • 14% of folks say that they hang it whichever way they can get it on the roll the fastest.
  • 11% ain't got no toilet paper holder.
  • 1% said, "Daggum, I'm a guy! I don't know how to change that toilet paper thang!"
  • Less than 1% (actually 0.03%) didn't know what toilet paper was.

Of course this only answers the question about how most folks hang their toilet paper, it doesn't address the question of what the "right" way is to hang it.
    Everybody's got an opinion on the pros and cons of hanging the roll "over" versus "under", and here's what I found from Gertrude Butterbean;
    • As far as being fashionable, the "over" position wins. I visited those nicer hotels (the ones that charge at least $24.95 overnight) and saw that they hung their roll with the paper dangling over the top and then they took the end sheet and folded it into this little fancy triangle. I don't rightly know what that triangle-sheet is for - seems like a waste to me, well, unless you tear off that end sheet and use it to clean out from under your fingernails while you finish your bidness or sumthin'.
    • If you have toddlers or cats, you should hang it in the "under" position - it doesn't unroll as easily.
    • If you have boys, by putting the roll in the "over" position, the paper is just begging to be used. This way, the boys will want to use it and you won't have to soak their drawers as long to get out their skid marks.
    • If you choose a print, you must hang it in the "over" position or the print on the paper will be upside down.
    • It is easier to grasp if the paper is in the "over" position, of course on the flip side, reaching to the back is just as easy - unless static cling makes the paper stick to the wall.
    • Standing men prefer the roll over-the-top. I didn't ask why. They scared me.
    • A physics professor in the "under" camp offered this analysis: To get the paper to turn requires a certain torque, which comes from the tension in the paper being withdrawn. The greater the distance between the plane of the paper being pulled and the axle support line, the less force is required and the less chance of tearing the paper before you have enough. Uh, yeah.
    • Several womenfolk told me that when they hung the roll in the "under" position, their men often got poop on their hands and then smeared it on the wall when they reached to the back for the edge of the toilet paper.
So back to the question, front or back??

    Front of course!

    awwww

Ken send this post to me while browsing thru reddit. Thought i should share this touching story here…

I've known my girlfriend for a very long time.
When I was young, like 2 or 3 years old, my mother used to take me to a playgroup type place. It was just a hall where parents and preschoolers would go to socialise. I'd show up a few times a week and I'd hang out in the back room where we weren't supposed to go with all the other rebel 3 year olds.
There was a girl there - the one on the left in that picture. She was really sweet. Whenever I went to playgroup, I'd try to impress her. With pick-up skills decades beyond my years, I'd chat her up all the time. I was never a 'cooties' kind of guy, so the lack of a fear of girls was a huge pick-up advantage at 3 years old.
Anyway, this girl was special to me. No one was allowed to pick on her. Our parents became friends and our fathers used to tease us playfully about how we were boyfriend and girlfriend. We both denied it, but secretly, I think we both liked the idea.
But I was still totally into her! That was just me playing hard-to-get. I had my moments of weakness where I showed how I really felt.
At 5 years old, I asked her to marry me. As if you guys think she said no.
But time goes on and 5 year olds turn into 11 year olds. People move houses, and childhood romances are put down to games of 'doctor' and 'murder in the dark.
We still saw each other every now and then. About twice a year her family would go on holidays near my family, and we'd catch up.
On, we went into our teen years, still seeing each other occasionally, and always with the same kind of feelings. But again, at 15, nothing like that can work. I had girlfriends, she had boyfriends. How could it have worked?
Three years went by before I saw her again.
My sister was going to go on student exchange to Italy and her family decided that they were going to say goodbye before she left. I was convinced that nothing was going to be there between us. Three weeks prior, the messiest relationship imaginable had ended for me, and I was not doing good. I was still pretty excited to catch up with her, though.
The moment she walked through my front door, I was in love again. It was pathetic. 20 years old and I spent the whole night secretly hoping she would touch my hand. I was so taken by her that when she left, I felt compelled to send her a message telling her how I felt. I told her I was sorry if it was creepy, but I just thought she should know.
Her response: "Wow. That was unexpected. I can't believe you've felt the same way that I have for all this time. I felt like I was making such an idiot of myself at your place, and you'd never want to see me again."
Old tricks never fail and a little over a month later, we were dating.

    afternoon sunshine

My saturday started off by making a hearty breakfast.
Accompanied Ken to the bike shop & some shoe shopping.
    Ikea for meatballs & coffee
Headed over to Mal & Aisling's garage for some table tennis action. Mal bought a new second hand table. This will keep the boys busy during the weekends. aha

The weather was lovely during the noon. Nevertheless, decided to put on my jacket, never get deceive by the sun!
