June Part 3

 

We rounded off the month with some more lazy activities! I took Nora to the splash park with her friend Isabelle. They are the cutest little friends and had such a fun time together. 

The height disparity between these two cracks me up.

We even rode the carousel and got an ice cream treat! It was a perfect outing. 

I had my flute choir concert. I practiced this music SO HARD and was very excited for this performance. My solo (with the flute choir accompaniment) went really well. It wasn't perfect, but I was happy enough. Our quartet song however went really badly and I was so upset. I had worked so hard on both of those pieces of music, but somewhere in there we got lost and made some mistakes we've never made before. So disappointing. Oh well, there is always next season and I do love playing, so I'll keep at it. 

At the very end of June Milly and I drove down to Utah to celebrate with our youngest sister Sarah at her baby shower. She is so excited to become a mother to her new daughter Indy. It was wonderful to connect with everyone and we even dragged Nora down with us so she could see cousins. Deirdre was out of town and Claire was working, but I was glad Milly, Nora, and I could go. 

June Part 2

On the second Saturday in June we decided to go for a bike ride in Teton National Park. I've always wanted to bike the trail in Teton and I'm so glad we finally made it happen. We ended up putting Nora on a bike behind because she doesn't have a speed bike and it would have been hard to keep up. She was a trooper and we all had a great time.

To Jenny Lake. 

This ride was perfect! At just over 7 miles it was a great trail with the most stunning scenery. We missed Claire, but the rest of us had a fabulous time. 

Richard and Nora had a fun daddy/daughter date in June where they went on a picture scavenger hunt. They took a ton of really cute pictures. 

We checked off one thing from our Get Out Pass! We have many more to go, but it's always good to schedule something fun. We went to iJump and used our 30 minute jump pass. We had a wonderful time together. 

Nora was in the play Frozen Jr. and played the housekeeper. She had one little line and sang a short little line as well. What a doll! She had so much fun doing it with her friends. I think she really liked it and I won't be surprised if she sticks with it like Deirdre. 

Mid June was Stampede Days. Richard took the kids to the parade. I had a rehearsal and couldn't make it, and Beckett was out of town with the Young Men on a backpack trip. But those that could go had a good time and got some fun candy. 

We squeezed in a temple trip which is always wonderful.

Beckett got pulled over by a cop (Officer Cruz) and given a "ticket" for being a good citizen and wearing his helmet. He came home laughing and told me that even though Officer Cruz had scared the life out of him he loved receiving his ticket. 

We also celebrated Father's Day for Richard with a delicious dinner and a some fun gifts from the kids and me. Life is good in the summer!

 

June Part 1

June was full of fun memories! I spent the majority of the month reading books (mostly in the hammock in the backyard) while occasionally going out for fun events. LOL. The kids kept busy in their own ways, while I read a book a day (at least for the first week). 

Linus left for Disneyland right after school got out. He went with orchestra and they had such a great time. They spent a couple of days in Disneyland and were able to record music in a studio and play in a live performance. I know he had a wonderful time. 

I went to my friend Staisha's wedding the first weekend in June. It was so fun to see all of my co-workers there to support our beautiful friend 

Staisha bucked tradition and went with a black wedding dress. This is her second wedding and she looked stunning. I wore black myself in support of Staisha, lol. 

Deirdre started crocheting a blanket with pom yarn. It is turning out so cute and looks very impressive. She's been working on it all summer. 

I went on a fun Jamba drink run with Beckett after he got a booster shot. He loved the smoothie, not the shot. 

I went with the kids to the lake a few times. We love the time we get to go out and enjoy fresh air and water. It's usually colder in June, but the sky is lovely. 

Richard and I had a fun date at a new restaurant to celebrate our anniversary. For dessert we ordered a delicious skillet cookie. 

We also went to the temple to celebrate our anniversary. We'd gone on our trip to Salmon a week before, but on our actual anniversary weekend we went out again. 

Deirdre and I drove up to Montana the first Sunday in June to celebrate my aunt's 60th birthday. Milly was supposed to come with me, but she wasn't up to it, so I took Dee with me. She got some good drive hours in and we had fun together. 

I love my aunt and I'm so glad that she got to have a wonderful celebration for her birthday.
