15 Months Old

The time sure is flying by and our little munchkin is now 15 months and full of life! She's become very independent and a bit stubborn. She's walking all over the place and does not enjoy sitting, which means our eating out days have been drastically cut. It's much more enjoyable to eat at home so she can run around and play. She also enjoys being outside and exploring as you an see.

Ava Turns 1

I have been totally absent and a bad mom when it comes to keeping up with this blog. I have been spending so much time on A Lived in Home that I have neglected this one. I'm finally posting 1 year old pics of Ava.

She is getting so big and is little miss independent! Her newest likes are climbing up and down the stairs, walking around everywhere holding on to someones finger, pushing her toys around, watching Dora, and screaming when she doesn't get her way. Yes, we do not enjoy the last one. Her vocal cords are proving to work well.

Ava has her own little language these days. Her favorite word is Dada, but she has been saying an extended version of Momma. She usually only says it when she is upset and really wants me. She tends to draw it out so it's more like, "Moooooommmma!"I'll take what I can get.

Her birthday party was a blast and her monkey cake turned out so adorable thanks to Melissa. She had a fun time trying to smash/eat it.

I'm having so much fun staying home with Ava and getting to spend tons of time playing! We enjoy getting into trouble and making messes.

Pulling Up and Standing

One day she was crawling and the next,......she's pulling up and standing! It just came out of the blue. I'm afraid we are going to have a walker real soon! We haven't even put the baby gates up yet. Instead, we just chase after her non-stop. It is good exercise.

Tonight she pulled up on the bath tub so I decided to take a couple cute naked photos of her adorable bootie! She will love me later in life for them! I think I'll save them for a high school graduation or wedding slide show!

Easter

Ava was adorable in her Easter dress and bonnet! She actually wore her bonnet longer than any bow. Her Easter basket from Pottery Barn Kids turned out adorable and we had fun filling it with books, a Dora dvd, plastic cup, candy(for Mom and Dad to eat), a stuffed bunny, and a play cell phone. When she went through her basket every item was taken out and in a pile surrounding her.

After playing with everything in the Easter basket we joined our family for lunch at Johnny Carino's. Ava didn't much care for being passed around. She was cranky and only wanted mom and dad. As soon as we left she napped away in the car. It was a great 1st Easter for our little Boogie Girl!

9 months old

Every day I think I fall more in love with my little Boogie girl. She greets me each morning with a smile and keeps it until she falls asleep in my arms each night. I am counting the days until I get to stay home every day and enjoy each moment with her. I know it will be so wonderful!
Ava is so full of life these days. She babbles non stop and now knows how to scream. (This is not good for going out in public)Yesterday she discovered the grass and that she could pick it. She then proceeded to eat it. It was pretty funny! She looked like a cow chewing its cud!
Her bottom 2 teeth are poking through finally. Her dad was getting worried that she was going to be a slow developer. Who's the worry wart now?!
She is crawling all over the place and already starting to destroy any decor in her path. I think it's time to raise everything and baby proof the house before she discovers the stairs.
I look forward to each and every day with my little angel. She's such a happy baby and we couldn't be more thankful!

Almost 8 months old!

I know I say this every time, but where has the time gone?! Our little monkey is growing way too fast. She said her first words which were " Hi Dada!" on February
9th and she is still very determined to crawl. She doesn't have any teeth peeking through yet, but is drooling like crazy! I'm pretty much used to drool and puke as my new accessory!
Monkey is really getting a cute little personality. She is very funny like her daddy as well as independent and determined! She likes to do things on her own even though she still needs assistance. When she doesn't like help or she wants something right away she lets out this new sound that is like a loud squeal/roar! It's very comical to hear!

Our Little Valentine

First Snow

Our first snow of 2011 came on Sunday, January 9th. It was way too cold for monkey to play in the snow, but I at least had to put a cute outfit on her and take a couple pics. I made sure she was really bundled up. Lily really enjoyed herself. She was chasing her tennis ball around in the snow. It looked like she was pushing a snowball around.

Baby's First Christmas!

We all enjoyed Ava's first Christmas. I'm not really sure who had more fun though- Ava, me, or Grammy? Santa delivered a ton of gifts to our house this year. It took a while for our little monkey to open them all. Now we have a new family tradition of celebrating Christmas morning at home in our pj's.
The rest of Christmas Day was spent with tons of family. Uncle Brandon and Aunt Heidi even came in from Houston. We had so much to be thankful for and to celebrate this year!
