Here is Riley and Oscar eagerly waiting to go on their first airplane ever! Oscar has loved planes ever since a crop duster flew over our house this summer, so he actually did really well. He usually fell asleep shortly after take off. He slept through 4 out of a total of 6 flights. Riley aslo really enjoyed flying her favorite things to do were look out the window during take off, and get a free beverage on the plane.

The beach was beautiful and the kids met their quota of sand, saltwater, and sunshine. Riley liked collecting seashells, but was very disappointed that she didn't see any dolphins.

Brian (Sherry's husband) was nice enough to take us out fishing on the ocean. It was a whole lot different then fly fishing in Idaho. We mainly caught these little reef sharks, but also a spotted sea trout, and some flounders. We later ate the flounders and they were pretty tasty for being such an ugly looking thing. We had so much fun fishing that we didn't pay attention to our skin, and ended up just as crispy as the flounder.

We bought tickets to Universal Studios Island of Adventures. We mainly wanted to go and check out The Wizarding World of Harry Potter. We also convinced Brian, Sherry, and Gus to come along. Brian said that he didn't like theme parks, but clearly this picture says otherwise. Oscar didn't get to do much at the park except for the Dr. Suess splash park, but he seemed to enjoy all the new sights and sounds. As for the Harry Potter part...I was totally bummed. It was overly crowded, there were lines to get into the souvenir shops for crying out loud! What we did get to see was pretty cool though, and the Butter Beer was delicious. The nice thing was since everyone congregated at the Harry Potter spot, it made the rest of the park rather pleasant. Riley's favorite ride was Popeye's boat ride. She went on it multiple times. Maybe when the kids are taller and can ride more rides, and be independent enough that mom & dad can go on a few too, we may do the theme park experience again.

Riley turned 4 in november and we had a Scooby Doo party with family and friends. Complete with a Mystery Machine cake and games for the kiddos. Everyday I'm amazed at how much she is learning. She is at the best age right now I wish it could last forever!

Our latest project has been remodeling Riley's room. It's been a long time since I've changed anything in the house, because I had spent all my inspiration on other projects. Then I read my good friend Carrie H.'s blog who had recently done some remodeling to their new home, and I was re-inspired to do some work too. Unfortunately the inspiration faded quickly after the first 2 days of work. It just seemed to drag on and on and on. At last it is finished and we are rid of the pale pink that seems to never end. I really do like it too, and I don't think she will grow out of it too quickly, after all I'm an adult and I like it. That should give me a few years to do the rest of the house right ???
