Marshall turned 10 months at the beginning of October. This kid kills me! He is such a sweetheart but I can just tell he is going to be trouble! He just loves to explore every single nook and cranny of this house. Caught him in the act a few times already! We usually keep the bathroom door shut so you can imagine how much fun he had (and how quiet he stayed!) before I caught him (above left pic). Haha!
He certainly is a little mover these days.. Speed crawls everywhere and walks along the furniture. Takes two naps a day and if I have to wake him up early to go somewhere, he hardly ever complains. His personality really just seems like he's happy to be along for the ride most of the time. Eats just about anything and everything-- most table foods and has hardly any dislikes with baby food. Makes funny faces for many of the flavors but will still open his mouth every time for whatever it is, haha! Just so chill!
Ivy is starting to realize more and more that Marshall is growing up. I think there are mixed feelings about this. I can tell he makes her a little nervous with taking her toys more and getting in her personal space a little more.. but at the same time, she really has been getting a kick out of his reactions to her. She tries every day to try to make him laugh and it's the most hilarious thing.
My babysitter sent this video to me after she watched them one afternoon. I just love it:
After Matt and Amy left, we decided to drive up the road a little ways into Kentucky for the Mason Farms Pumpkin Festival that we had heard about. It was such a nice drive up. And the land where this festival was at, was just gorgeous! They had this fun little corn maze where the kids got mini pumpkins afterwards to take home.. Their actual pumpkin patch had some of the biggest pumpkins I've ever seen! Then they had many other pumpkins set out in rows according to all the different shapes, sizes, and even color! Across the street(dirt road, I should say) they had a little market festival going on with a live bluegrass band, pony rides, and booths of food, crafts, etc.. It was such a fun small town event! Perfect way to start off the fall season around these parts!

Amy (Sam's sister) and Matt and their family stopped in to visit for a couple days at the end of September! We used to go visit them in Idaho when we lived in Utah so we sure have missed them! Can't believe how grown up all the kids are! Ivy had sooo much fun having girl cousins in the house, of course. ;) They were just passing through on their way to Virginia and New York for their fall break. It was a short but oh so sweet visit! Matt was able to show Sam some pointers in OMT (pictured above) and we were able to show them around town-- the campus, the Pinnacle, and of course, Heavy's! Ha! Thanks for stopping by, guys!! I love the days that Sam has a test in the morning, then afterwards we get him all to ourselves for the rest of the day! Especially after a long week/weekend of studying! This was in Morristown a few weeks ago. We found a gorgeous view of the lake. I love this area! So many pretty drives close by. :)

Beginning of September was my mom's 60th birthday so the first weekend of the month, all of my siblings went to Houston to celebrate (while leaving the kids at home! Marshall and baby Lucy were the only kids in attendance for obvious reasons). We were able to keep everything a secret from her so it was surprise after surprise as people trickled in. She had an idea that Kari and Kristin were coming but not anyone else. Her reaction to every new person was priceless! It was such a fun weekend! TOO SHORT, but very fun. Friday morning, we spent some girl time together and got pedicures and lunch, then met up with the boys for dinner at Cheesecake factory later on. Went home and just chilled and watched a movie, then Saturday morning, kept things pretty low key at home, then went to lunch at Pappasito's. Us sisters went on to do some shopping that afternoon while my two brothers and dad took off to Austin for the BYU vs UT game! Ha! We spent the evening hanging out while trying to catch a glimpse of the boys on the 50 yard line of the game, lol! Anyways, love my family so much! It really was quite the trip for all us siblings to spend some time together without so many distractions (kids!). Miss all of you already!
