Happy Mid-Autumn Moon Festival!

Today is the Mid-Autumn Moon Festival!  We decided to celebrate it last night since this is a school night.  We started off by going to dinner with my folks and ended the night by playing with fire!!!  It was beautiful last night!  The moon was incredibly bright and it was still in the 60's at 9pm.  Luckily, it wasn't very windy...


It takes a lot of concentration to set fire to things.  Fire good!!!  We like FIRE!!!  Yes, I let my children play with fire!

We ordered Sky Lanterns to launch!!!  Don't know what a Sky Lantern is?  Remember the movie "Tangled"?  Remember all those beautiful balloon-like things they launched?  Well, I found a place online that had awesome prices and just couldn't resist getting some.  We ordered four different colors and shapes.

It was so cool!!!  These things took off really well.  The heart shape didn't float as high as the other shapes, but the rest of them really got some altitude!  We lost sight of them somewhere over Dayton.

I'm Back & I Now Have A New Camera!!!

Yes, I am back!  Since the males in my house killed both of my cameras in the Spring of 2011, I have been without a way to take photos.  How did they do this, you may ask?  They took both cameras to Washington, DC on a trip with Cullen's school (at the time).  They then both dropped said cameras on marble floors and killed them.  Then they both decided not to tell me and let me find out on my own at a later date.  Ummm...yeah.  Can you say "pissed off momma"?  So I decided they should have to replace both cameras with one awesome one.  Today was that day.


This is my new camera!  It is a Nikon D3200.  It is my friend.  It is my buddy.  It is my pal!  Isn't it beautiful?!?!?!?!?!  The males in my family are not allowed to touch it EVER!  If I ever suspect they have, they will not be males anymore...


This is my other beauty.  She is so grown-up.  *sigh*  Kieren loves my new camera.  She covets it.  She tries taking it as soon as I turn my back.  The thing is, I totally trust her with it (unlike the boys).  Kieren also likes to pose in front of it.

And this is my other baby.  His name is Tripper.  As you can see, he is laughing at me.  All of my children laugh at me.  Go figure!  Tripper was named for his habit of tripping everyone when he wants attention.  We adopted Trip-Trip after my dad's accident.  He used to live in my parents' barn.  I love this little guy despite his need to mock me.

Yes, I am missing a photo of my big kid.  Cullen is not home tonight.  I will have to take his picture tomorrow and post it.  Let's just say, he's grown "a bit"!!!
