Lawn Fawnatics Challenge #229 - Awesome Autum

happy Monday!
let's start this week off with a NEW challenge over at the Lawn Fawnatics Challenge blog!

any excuse to play with some Lawn Fawn stamps is a good excuse to play!

so fun!!
it's my favorite season, and I had a blast making my card for this challenge!

I started by stamping the images from You Autumn Know and Fall Mice and then coloring them in with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers. once it was all dry, I added some details with a white gel pen and then used the coordinating dies to die cut them out. 

for the background, I used some Lilac Cardstock for the base. then I added the soft trees in the background with the Birch Tree Stencils and some Antique Linen Distress Oxide Ink. then I used the Autumn Breeze Stencil with some white embossing paste to add a little bit more texture to the fall-themed background.

the sentiment was heat embossed in white onto Black Licorice cardstock. I used the Harold's ABCs stamp set to create the custom sentiment. which is so fun and punny! lol

autumn leaves and cozy reads!

hello!
today I have a fun, cozy card for any autumn or book lover! (which is me! lol)
this card is up on the Newton's Nook blog! 

I started by stamping the images from the Puppy's Reading List and Autumn Reads stamp sets.
then I used the Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers to color the images in. I added some white gel pen details to the images. and once everything was dry, I used the coordinating dies to die cut them out. 

for the background, I did lots of ink blending in a simple rainbow palette using a bunch of Distress Inks. to add a little more detail and texture, I used some white embossing paste and the Falling Leaves Stencil. I love that subtle touch to the background since everything else is so bold and saturated!

I stamped the sentiment onto the book, which I think fits just perfectly! ha! to finished the card, I popped up the puppy image with foam tape!

Lawn Fawnatics Challenge #228 - Woodland Wonder

let's start this week off with a NEW challenge over at the Lawn Fawnatics Challenge blog!

any excuse to use a Lawn Fawn critter is a win for me!

here we go!
I decided to go with a lot of pops of color!

I started by stamping the images from To My Fungi, Oh Gnome!, Let's Go Nuts and A Bug Deal. then I used Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers to watercolor in the images! once the images were dry, I used the coordinating dies to die cut them out! I love how the green leaves and pink and red mushrooms really pop with the neutral background and squirrels!

for the background, I used the Birch Tree Stencils and Distress Oxide Inks in Antique Linen, Vintage Photo and Walnut Stain. then I used the Bee Happy Background Stencils and some white embossing paste to add a windy looking texture to the fall scene!

I attached all of the images directly to the card. but I did use foam tape to pop up the squirrel images and the sentiment! the sentiment is also from Oh Gnome! and was heat embossed in white onto Black Licorice Cardstock. then i trimmed it down into a small banner.

today I have a fun card up on the Lawn Fawnatics challenge blog!
the current challenge is all about fun with food - and I had a BLAST making this card!

I started by stamping the images from Be Hap-pea and colored them in with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers. but instead of coloring them green to be peas (as intended), I colored them in warm reds to be cherries!! so fun! once the images were dry, I used a white gel pen to add some extra details and then die cut them out.

I also stamped a bunch of balloon strings from the Really High Five stamp set and die cut them out, to be the cherry stems! I thought that was a fun idea to try out!
I used Distress Inks in Pine Needles, Mowed Lawn and Twisted Citron for the background. I ink blended the colors with the darkest shade on the outside and lightest in the middle. then I used the same ink colors and added some of the it with watercolor and a piece of clear packaging to get the watercolored look. and once it was dry, I went over it all again with ink blending to get the super saturated look!

to create the sentiment, I die cut out the 'cherry' letters using Henry's ABC's and some Peach Cardstock, then used a little Abandoned Coral Distress Ink to add some ombre colors.
the rest of the sentiment was stamp and heat embossed in white from the Fairy Friends stamp set. the letters and the sentiment strips were popped up with foam tape and everything else was attached directly to the card.

I used the new Big Hugs Ghost and Big Hugs Pop Up dies! they're SO fun and I can think of a million different ideas for these cuties!! wow!
this time I made a sweet (un)spooky card that could also be a card for welcoming a new baby, too! who knew you could mix and match those two genres?! lol!

I started by using the cute ghost die and die cutting out three with Pixie Dust Sparkly Cardstock. I also cut out their coordinating 'arms'. then I die cut out one ghost (and arms!) with 80lb White Cardstock. then I used Black Licorice Cardstock as the backing for the eyes and mouth. I also used white cardstock for the blushing cheeks, and added some color with Worn Lipstick Distress Ink.
I couldn't resist adding some more personality to the ghosts, so I used the tufts of hair from the Tiny Gift Box Unicorn and Horse Add-on! adorable! I used Distress Inks to add the pops of color. and for a few of the ghosts, I popped up their 'arms' with foam tape.

for the background, I did lots of Distress Ink blending to create the rainbow happy look! I used Picked Raspberry, Abandoned Coral, Dried Marigold, Squeezed Lemonade, Twisted Citron, Mowed Lawn, Mermaid Lagoon and Blueprint Sketch. then I used the Lots of Stars Background Stencils and some white embossing paste to add a little bit of whimsy and texture.

inside the card, I used another piece of the Pixie Dust Sparkly Cardstock and this time made the ghost a rainbow! what a fun surprise! I used the same colors that I ink blended the front of the card with and LOVE how happy and sweet that little guy looks!
I added some Chunky Glitter to his cheeks to mimic the glittery background.

The sentiment was die cut out with more Black Licorice Cardstock and the Oliver's Stitched ABCs dies. I popped the sentiment on the front of the card up with foam tape, but inside is (obviously) glued directly down to the card base.

welcome sweet baby card

hello!
today I'm so happy to share this sweet baby card up on the Newton's Nook Designs blog!

I started by stamping the images from the Lovable Laundry set. I colored in the images with Zig Clean Color Real Brush Markers using pinks and yellows. I added some details with a white gel pen and then used the Stitched Onesie Die Set to die cut out the images. 

To create the background, I searched through the paper packs and picked a few pink and yellow papers from Fireworks Paper Pack, Halloween Party Paper Pack and Spring Blooms Paper Pack. Then I used the Card Layout 5 Die Set and die cut out the papers to create this quilt-inspired background.
I popped up each of the triangles with foam tape.

Next, I used the Fancy Edges Tag Die Set and die cut a tag using vellum. I also used some medium grey cardstock for the tag and sentiment. I heat embossed the sentiment in white and then fussy cut out the sentiment.
I finished by popping up the onesies and sentiment on top of the vellum tag.

eeeep! this birthday card is so fun and happy!
I love how many positions you can create for the kitties! I decided to make this one kind of laying down. and then I added the balloons and party hat with rainbow colors!
I also did LOTS of ink blending on everything that was die cut to add a little bit of shading.

I also used the Frames & Tags die set for the background! I did more shading, and then used the Cascading Stars Stencil and some white embossing paste on top.
the sentiment was heat embossed with the Birthday Barks Stamp Set. then I die cut it out with the A7 Frames & Banners Die Set.

love it!
now how about some fun for all of the dog lovers!?

so cute, right?

I spent all afternoon die cutting those sweet pups! I looooove how you can create so many cute dogs and they all look different! I even switched some of the ears around to make them look different. adorable, I know!

I put each puppy on a 'stamp' that was die cut with the Postage Stamp Layout Die Set. and they each have a fun and bright party hat!! so fun.

I finished the card off by heat embossing the sentiment with the new Birthday Greetings stamp set in white onto black cardstock. then I just trimmed the black cardstock into a banner and popped it up with foam tape.
