Pinewood Derby

 We found out about the wards pinewood derby 7 days before it was suppose to happen.  So with Scott's crazy work schedule Alden used his car from when he was a wolf that way he just had to make one for Dallin (unfortunately he did make it for and not with Dallin, because the one Saturday where they were both home at the same time was Dallin's baptism and it was a crazy day).  Alden placed 5th and was very excited about that.

Dallin wanted his car to be a "CTR" car it didn't really get painted the way he wanted it but I think he was happy with it.  He did very well too and had fun at his first scouting activity.  He was so funny though, I couldn't get him to pose for a picture for me because we hadn't gotten him a scout shirt yet.  He finally settled on where Alden's long enough for me to snap a pic.  Scott is going to help both the boys make their own cars now that they are not on a cramped timeline and they are both very excited about that.

Dallin's baptism

Dallin was baptized on January 14th, 2012.  We are so proud of him, he is such a good boy and a great helper.  He is the best big brother to Lila and we are so glad he is part of our family.  We had a fun luncheon after with all our family that came, it was a large crowd but lots of fun. 

Christmas Morning

The kids had a good Christmas.  Santa brought them a trampoline which they all love and were very excited about. Now we just need grass in our yard! They got spoiled like usual.  We did Christmas Eve morning with the Thurston's at Tanya and Nicks house.  It was fun to go in our pj's and eat breakfast with everyone.  The kids got super cute matching "Thurston University" t-shirts and did the gift exchange with their cousins.  We had a fun adult white elephant exchange too.  We went to Kim and Glen's house for Christmas Eve dinner and had more fun with gift exchanges and lots of yummy food.  We are grateful for all the wonderful family we have so close to us that we get to spend the holidays with!

Dallin's 8th birthday

 Dallin turned 8 in December and had a fun little birthday.  We had a little party for him bowling and the kids all had fun.  Lila loved it too so even though it is Dallin's bday I couldn't help but stick a picture of her on here.

The boys first piano recital

 Alden and Dallin have been taking piano lessons from a woman in our stake who has been doing an amazing job with them.  They are doing so well and progressing and enjoying it.  We had their first recital right before Thanksgiving.  They both did wonderful.  She also teaches my three beautiful neices Amanda, Megan and Kamille.  It was a great recital and all the kids did great. It makes me wish I knew how to play the piano. 

Halloween

 I am the most horrible mom ever.  Being pregnant and sick and having just recently moved Halloween costumes were the last thing on my mind.  We literally came up with these costumes like a half hour before our ward trunk or treat.  Alden was a pirate, Brig a jedi, Dallin a ghost, and Lila was raggedy Anne. After tons of trouble getting her wig to stay on I decided to dress Lila up as Snow White for Halloween night.  Her hair didn't turn out great, due to my bad planning but in the dark it kind of worked.  Next year I will have to do better.

We had our annual Halloween soup/pot luck dinner with the Marble's.  It is always fun.  Now that mom and Dad Marble moved who knows what we will do next year but we certainly enjoyed it this year. 

Mrs. Tara's Pumpkin Patch field trip

 This October Lila and I went with a couple of her cousins to Vertuccio Farms for a field trip.  It is a really fun place.  This is our second year going there and we just love it.  Tons of stuff for the kids to do and not as crowded as some of the pumpkin patch places. 

 They have a tractor pull the kids around in these cute cow carts. It is so fun.  Hyrum sam and Lila sat for a picture but then Hyrum decided he wanted out and I had to get in and hold Lila for her to stay in.  Sam was in heaven though, he loved it.

 The bikes were so much fun.  I definately got a work out in but it was worth it.  We had fun racing in circles.

Aunt Tara was the lucky one that got to help you kids jump on this thing. Lila and Sam loved it.  Hyrum was a little scared.  I am glad she was their cuz with my queezy pregnant tummy I would not have enjoyed bouncing around.

Lila on the swing.  The kids had so much fun at the little play ground.  We also walked around and saw all the animals they have.  Lila loved the baby chics.  We walked through a hay maze and out into the corn maze. It was a beautiful day with perfect weather and a lot of fun.  My boys were jealous we went with out them!

Brig's 6th birthday

 We celebrated Brig's birthday with a party at the park. We had pizza and played soccer and kickball. 

Brig invited his cousins Marcus, Jonah, Logan, Gavin, and Ryker and had his friend Treyson come.  He also had his gma and gpa Marble and gma & gpa Thurston and great gma Norton there. 

Brig got a lot of presents, tons of candy and a lot of money.

Brig loves to be a show off so instead of blowing out his candle he licked his fingers and put the fire out that way.  Happy Birthday Brig, we think you are such a cutie.  You sure add spunk to our family.

Brig's soccer season: "Blue Lightning"

 Brig had  a great time playing soccer this year.  He was still on the younger team were they just play 3 on 3 but he will definately be ready for some more rules, a bigger field and a few more players next year.  He did awesome.  He had the same coach as last year, coach K, and a lot of fun kids on his team.  The kids all decided to call their team blue lightning. 

Alden's soccer season: "Lemon Heads"

 Alden had a great soccer season.  He had an awesome coach and a really fun team with lots of really great boys on it.  Alden played better this year than he ever had in the past.  We are so proud of him. 

 The boys chose the name "Lemon heads" for their team name since they got the bright yellow uniforms to wear.  They all played really well and were all really good friends and supportive of one another.  It was one of the best teams we have ever been on.

Alden soccer coach, Kevin, Did a wonderful job.  The boys loved practice and games and he really helped them all develop and improve.  He let all the boys try different positions and taught them cool tricks and all sorts of things.  After the last game when he was handing out their medallions he gave each boy a box of lemon head candies with a note taped to it.  He read all the notes out loud as he passed them out and I was so impressed that he took the time and had so many wonderful things to say about each of the boys.  It was definately a great season.

Pinewood Derby

Alden had a great time at his 2nd pinewood derby.  He made his car very similar to the one he had last year.  He did pretty good kind of finished in the middle somewhere.   It is always fun to watch and see all the different cars though.  Alden said as soon as it was over that he alreadly knew what he wanted his car to look like next year.  Dallin and Brig can't wait until they are in cub scouts and get to do all the fun things the boys do. 

First Day of School

The boys were so excited to start school this year.   Especially Brig since he was going to get to go to kindergarten.  Mom was really glad that they started too since we were still staying at gpa and gma Marble's house and I am sure you boys were about to drive everyone crazy! The boys all got really great teachers.  Mom was especially happy that Alden got Mrs. Galen for his 5th grade year and Brig got Mrs. Kurth for Kindergarten.  They are two of the best teachers at your school.  Dallin got Mrs. Horlacher and even though I didn't know much about her Dallin really likes her.  He was sad he didn't get to have Mrs Bishop though.  she was his Kindergarten teacher and switched to 2nd grade last year.  He was really hoping to have her again. They have all had a great school year so far and it is so fun to just have Lila home and to get to run errands and not have to be back in time for preschool to get out or anything since Brig is in all day kindergarten.  Lila gets to go to a little tumbling class and a singing time at the mall and we do a preschool day at Aunt Tara's every week too just to give her something to do.
