Houston Texas Rodeo and Live Stock Show

We have never been to the Houston Rodeo but we know it's a big thing, I guess one of the largest in the U.S. Scott's boss was kind enough to get us some VIP tickets when he heard we wanted to go. As you can see there is a lot more then just roping cattle here.

The contest events were held in Reliant Stadium, where the "Texans" play football. After the rodeo events for the day, they have a huge concert with lots of amazing bands.

We had such a wonderful time with the boys. We had to teach them how to yell and cheer for the cowboys and they loved it!

You can't leave anywhere without a ride on the Carousel. We loved the Rodeo. There was so much to see and do. The food looked amazing and we are hoping to go again next year on a day with a good 'ol country concert (we missed Tim McGraw. Miranda Lambert).

Our adventures this year so far have been wonderful and hopefully they will keep on coming!

Spring is here!

Like Father, like Son! Daniel is mastering Scott's Xbox games already and Archie is the usual cheerleader.

Little Archie is developing quite the funny personality. He loves to dress himself and create anything out of everything (thankfully this time it was block)

We joined Daddy for lunch one day and there are no works for how much they loved the milkshakes. Can you tell???

We went to the beach to celebrate Scott being done with busy season and it was so beautiful. The Sun was warm and the water felt so nice. We played some football and built sandcastles. We have already gone twice this year and it is just April. Love the Beach!

This is of course my dear Mom and her sweetie Jim at Zions National Park. She is so happy and I have wanted this for her for so long. Love you guys!

Missing Grandma Val on Sunday morning one day, we thought we would let her know!

The biggest DISASTER of a Vacation ever!!!!

You are probably wondering why there is a pic of a hotel. Well it all started when I got tired of staying at home (beginning of February) so I thought I would go on a fun road trip with the boys and drive to Danyelle's in Missouri. What I didn't know is that i was heading right for the winter storm of the century! I got stuck 3 times and kind people helped me get out. To make a long story short...

*We missed the turn in to a hotel at about 5am and our little Camry sunk down in a ditch about 4 feet.

*We were stuck in a hotel for 3 nights before we could continue on our adventure.

*One perk was that the hotel had an indoor pool and spa to help the day go by because the whole town was closed.

We finally got to Danyelle and Eric's house. We had a great time. I think the boys destroyed her house every 5 minutes. I guess I don't realize how full of energy they are until I have to tame them in someone else's house.

We stayed until Wednesday morning because the weather looked like it was going to be okay. We got about 20 miles out of Columbia, MO and I hit black ice going 60-70 mph. The first hit put us in a spin and we hit the guard rail 3 times in the front and back. Of course the car was totaled but at lease we were all okay.

We got a flight out ASAP to come home. This is a picture of the boys on the Shuttle Bus taking us to the Airport. They are such good travelers!

We got home, FINALLY, and I remembered how much I love Houston, TX (especially the winters)!

After my luck with cars and just life in general this last year, Scott thought it would be best if I drove something a little bigger and safer. I never thought I would want to drive such a massive truck but I guess I am a true blue Texan now!

Winter in Houston

Scott started "busy season" once again this year at the firm. This was the worst so far. He worked 7 days a week for two months. I guess if you have to work that much than a view like this from your office in downtown Houston isn't too shabby.

Thankfully Scott had time to take me out to eat an do a little shopping. I got a phone call or card from every person in my family this year! I felt so loved. I am so grateful for all the love that is shown towards me.

Christmas

Before going to Grandma and Grandpa's in Missouri, we had our own family Christmas a few days early. Just look at those handsome boys! I can't believe they're mine.

Scott thought he would be clever and hang mistletoe above the couch. We got plenty of use out of it.

Kicking off the Christmas Season

At the beginning of December, PWC, the Accounting Firm that Scott works for had their Holiday Party. It was wonderful to get all dressed up and go have fun with the people Scott works with. There was fantastic food, great live music, and everyone brought books to donate to the Houston Independent School District.

The Decor was beautiful and defiantly put me in the Holiday Spirit. I'm grateful for Scott for working so hard and I appreciate PWC for being so good to our family.

Enjoying Summer in October

We still never get tired of the Summer weather that lasts well into October. The boys live outside inventing new ways to try and kill themselves and keep themselves cool. It's every Mother's dream!

They loved Halloween even more this year explaining very specifically what they wanted to be. Daniel wanted to be a Dragon but "a little more mean" then the one from 'How to train your Dragon'. Archie was Iron Man with a red cape. They had a great time!

Something to Celebrate

Scott turned 28 so the boys and I threw him a little party. I Scott his favorite meal: BBQ Ribs, Loaded Mashed Potatoes, Green Bean Casserole, Rolls, and a Yellow Cake with Chocolate frosting. It was my first go at Ribs and a double layered cake but I must say it turned out pretty good. Happy Birthday You "Old Man".

Sister's Retreat 2010

The Palfreeman sister decided to have our 1st Sister's Retreat. So Danyelle, Lacey, and Chelsea all came to my hometown to see what Houston, Texas is all about. Here's a little run down of out days and nights on the town.

Sunday we went to church and just hung out together. Monday everyone had to go home. We had so much fun and we're already planning next year. I love you my dear sisters. Thanks for helping me remember what family is all about.

Oh, what do you do in the summer time?

At my house we sit outside and watch the lightening illuminate the sky. That's one of those things makes me love the simple things in Texas all the more.

I had first garage sale this summer. It was work but I got rid of junk and made about $200. Not too shabby!

Daniel looks so fly in his gear. He loves to ride anything with wheels...bikes, skateboards, etc.

We can't forget about our summer BIRTHDAY!!!

Archie turned 3 this year. I made his favorite meal (corn dogs) and cupcakes.

Present time. He got a book from Grandma and Grandpa Cane, a Teddy Bear and fruit snacks from Mama and Daddy.

Daniel got a nice box of fruit snacks too for helping mama prepare the whole celebration.
