Orange fabric trash bag for my car :D

As you can guess from my blog url, I really love the colour orange, and I have been looking for something that I can make for my car, in orange. :D

One day I was googling car accessories tutorials when I stumbled upon some sites talking about fabric car trash bags, and I decided that I could really use one of those since I am one of those people that use lots of tissues due to my sinus problem.

There is this site that compiled several slightly different and all cute trash bag tutorials, KoolBeenz. From there I decided to go with this tutorial from tinkerfrog, as it seemed the easiest for me to make at that point in time.

I chose a waterproof rubber lined (?) solid orange fabric for the lining so that it is easy to clean, and a white and orange striped fabric for the outer fabric, both bought from Supplies Surprise Bazaar. It was very easy to make, and the only things I changed from the tutorial was that I added velcro strips for the straps instead of tying them, and that I only sewed on the straps after finishing the body.

Next I will try to make my own steering wheel cover!

Make your own unique Samsung S3 case

One thing I just can't stand about phone cases that you find in normal shops is that they are all the generic plain coloured or patterns but common boring cases that everyone has. Of course there are a few that truly stand out, but then again for the price (RM 100+) it doesn't seem that worth it.

When I saw the transparent iPhone cases with the interchangeable templates I was thinking to myself, hmm if I could find a transparent S3 case then I can do the same as well. It was not as easy as I thought to find one though, I tried the night markets around my house as well as various shops around Klang Valley but to no avail. The night market vendor even had the cheek to tell me that no one buys transparent cases.

I finally had a break when I discovered an online blogshop that sells phone cases, doodlecases, through an shopping review site (can't remember which at the moment since I go to a few). They sell plain coloured, transparent, vibrantly patterned phone cases for both Apple and Samsung phones for some designs. I was delighted that they had what I was looking for, and so far I have bought 4 cases from them. Although I was sometimes disappointed that some designs that I really liked was only available for iPhones :( Friendly owner though :)

Anyway, about the transparent case, I traced out a template from a brown paper bag I had lying around, and I bought some wonderfully patterned scrapbook paper and wrapping paper from art stores and bazaars, cut them out and inserted them into the case. I also used a Xacto knife to do some touch ups, shaving a lil off here and there. I tried looking for a ready template that I could use, but there weren't any, and I realized that the holes behind some manufacturers made them square, some round, so it still depends on the case that you get.

I was very happy with the results :) I can never run out of designs for my phone! Below are the ones I have used so far:

There will be more to come :) I have thought of drawing my own designs on paper, then it would be truly unique!

New beginnings

I have not blogged at this site for years ever since I found out I had relatives reading which sort of freaked me out, also I just could not find time to do this anymore since I was studying and finishing my degree then.

Since then I have graduating, am now working, still don't really have time for this but I have spent a lot of time customizing this blog design from the html to just delete this. I was thinking maybe I can blog about my craft products here, my little hobby still.
