Farewell Summer

We have been so looking forward to the family trip to Lake Powell but at the same time we knew that once it was over then the summer was over. So what better way to end the summer with a bang then to spend a week in Lake Powell. Reed's fam goes every year and we love it! Thanks to Stuart and Carol. We love this family tradition. The Lake is so beautiful surrounded by red rocks. Everyone should see it in their life time!

So the boat has four bedrooms but it is to hot to sleep inside so most of us sleep on the top deck under the stars or rock. This picture is of what I saw from laying down in my bed at night looking up. But of course I took the pic in the day. Pretty cool huh!

We like to play cuz that is what Lake Powell is all about. One of our things that we do is Reed buys hundreds of used, old, golf balls off the internet and takes them with along with a baseball bat and a couple of golf clubs. They love crankn' them out in the water or trying to hit the other wall. Then us girls drift out into the water and try catching them. I think that this year we perfected the game by using snorkling gear and the wave runners!

Another first, me skiing. I can knee board and wake board but have never tried any kind of skiing. It only took me like 6 tries before I got up and I still don't know how I did it.

Even Chandler said that he wanted to try skiing. I know we were all shocked considering that he doesn't really like the water. But he got in and got the skis on and that was the end of that. But I was impressed he got that far!

Wildlife. Nasty, fat, disgusting carp. Yuck! But Bob, Reed, and Chandler caught this one.

Reed found a new friend. Funny story. Reed was trying to kill it by throwing rocks at it but he kept missing. The whole time the lizard didn't move but just stared him down. Reed finally hit him and I found him floating in the water and saved him. Reed put him on his shoulder and they were friends forever. Chandler even named him Rocky all by himself. We would have brought him home but we don't have any room for him. Maybe next time!

New Toy and Camping

Reed has worked hard all summer! Now he gets to play a little bit. He traded some work and was able to get a new toy, a 4-wheeler. Don't ask what it is or what kind cuz I forget but it is fast and fun.
Reed got a helmet and gloves for him and for the boys. They love it and they look so cute in their get-up.

One evening we went up white mountain and took it for a ride. Here is a shot of our "beautiful" city! Ha! Ha! Ha!

Me going way too fast that the pic is a blurr. We also have been wanting to go camping this summer so we had to squeeze it in somewhere, ecspecially since we have the 4-wheeler now. So last weekend we went with some friends up to Half Moon Lake. It was fun and an adventure. It was really cold and it rained a lot. It even snowed a little so we came home a day early but still had fun. Thanks everyone for going!

Since we did take the 4-wheeler and motocycle the kids got to play a little and go on some rides. Ashley is giving Kaitlyn a ride.

Not the Only One

So in addition to our fire incident. We were talking to a fireman friend and come to find out that latter that night another little kid pulled the alarm again! Ha! Isn't that awesome!

Fire! Fire! Fire!

So where to start. This was an exciting evening. We were helping Brook and Jen put in their yard so I ran with the boys to Wingers to pick up some dinner when...There was a fire! oh no! wait it was my son, Chandler who just pulled the fire alarm! Chandler asks, "Mom what is this?" I turned around and the fire alarm was already pulled down. Immediately I run over and try to push the handle back up but no it is locked down. Then the lights and alarms start going off. Some of the people started getting up from their seats and I was waiting for all the water to spray, luckily it didn't. I told them that it was my son and I am so sorry. They silenced the alarms and said that it was ok but I had to sit there and wait for my food, I was so embarrassed. I thought that it was ok until five minutes latter when the fire truck and police show up! Ya they came over and had a little chat with me and I yelled at Chandler. I told him that these men were coming to take him away. Luckily they didn't fine me or anything. They gave me my food and I took off but the fire truck was still there. Hopefully they don't track me down. I explained it to Chandler cuz it was funny but at the same time I was trying not to cry. I guess I am just one of those moms that doesn't watch their kids!

Last week review- backwards

I put all my pics on backwards so this is the last week in rewind. For the weekend we went to Utah and Saturday was our 7th Anniversary. I can't believe it has been 7 years. Happy Anniversary Reeder. I love you so much! I am so lucky to have been with Reed for all this time and for all eternity!
The Wyoming Big Show was in town (County Fair). They had a shark exhibit. Here is Reed getting his head bitten off and it's not by me.

This was my favorite animal at the petting farm. I don't remember what it was called but I think it is a cow and teddy bear mix. Isn't he so cute!

This thing was crazy big and weird!

You could buy grain and feed all these animals. We feed the baby goats. They were so cute but don't be fooled they were a little violent when it came to getting feed.

The boys got to go on a couple of "Roller Coaster" rides. Deegy wasn't really tall enough for any of them but we snuck him on. They loved it. They would have both gone on the real roller coaster rides if they would have been tall enough.

I took the boys earlier in the week on kids day with some friends and we watched the Rain Forrest Show. They got to see a big snake and bird. Also the guy was a ventriloquist (whatever) and magician they thought it was pretty cool. Chandler has been practicing magic ever since.

On Tuesday we took the Young Men and Young Women, all 5 of them, to Flaming Gorge. Bishop took his boat and was showing us all up on wake boarding!

Poor Bishop's daughters, Rachel and Lexi, they had a ride of their life but I guess they are used to it!
