I love waffles. They are delicious. I love staying at hotels where they have a continental breakfast with a waffle iron. When we got married we got a waffle iron. It was fine, but not great. It didn't give me a nice crispy outside and a soft inside, but it was better than nothing.
*Side Story* Once Sterling was trying to be really nice and make me waffles while I was in the shower. When I got out to eat my delicious waffles all I found was a fuming mad Sterling and and a huge mess of waffle still stuck to the iron and batter everywhere. He has not made waffles since. *Side story complete*
Well, I no longer need to stay in a hotel to get a beautiful waffle. For my 28th birthday Sterling got me my very own Belgian waffle maker! It is truly a thing of beauty. It is so fancy. I have probably put on 5 pounds since my birthday because of all the waffles I have been eating.
Waffles weren't the only good thing about my birthday. Here is a quick rundown. I was actually not looking forward to my birthday this year. Shocking I know since I usually start getting excited about 6 months in advance. I've just been feeling old and feeling like there wasn't going to be anything special about it. But Sterling came through for me. He took me to Kneader's for the "All You Can Eat French Toast Breakfast." It's like they are mocking you when they say all you can eat, because they know you can't get through more than one plate without exploding. They are literally over an inch thick and oh so delicious. Later Sterling grilled up some shrimp and steak for dinner. We invited my family over for delicious chocolate bunt cake (Seriously, it's amazing, and you can find the recipe on my recipe blog called Everett Family Recipes, click on the link on the left.) My little sister Carrie was particularly excited to be there because I'm her favorite sister. It ended up being a really fun day.

Special thanks to the following people-
