BCS Part II

Well after all the fodder and fluff THE game came and went just like that. Utah pulls off an impressive Defensive win over BYU to finish off the regular season. Although I do cheer on the cougars success and I felt just as awful about the TCU blowout as any diehard cougar I was in my realm of all red on Saturday. My buddy and I were standing for 6 ½ hours straight for this one and it was well worth it! Being next to a large group of BYU fans was better for them then anything else I think, I was there buffer zone to some harsh fans that seemed ready for a fight at any moment. Besides the boute with Austin Collies cousin (after the 5th INT to seal the game I was able to pull out my sign that apparently wasn’t very appropriate,

all in good fun!) all went as planned at the game. We doubled the amount of BYU’s points and were able to rush the field again (look it’s a rivalry if you win you want to rush the field…besides the few idiots out there its all in good fun) I took photos with Kruger (MVP IMHO) B. Johnson and others. Next is the mighty BCS were if we get anyone but Florida we should have a good shot at a win. (even though it would be “fun” I want to win so please go to the national championship Florida and we’ll all watch with pleasure from home)
So to Whittingham and all the Utes, GREAT JOB GUYS!!!!

Cougars…please don’t blow it next year at least arrive to the Rivalry with 11 wins so the state of Utah can all be happy for whoever gets the BCS next year!

I am a UTAH MAN!!!!


Last night was a miraculous experience, just like Joe and Less were moved by the election; UTAH was moved by the huge win last night! UTAH beat TCU 13-10 to win the conference title (baring some catastrophic disaster). I will be sleeping in the parking lot of the stadium tonight in order to assure my ticket to the big game on the 22nd. I haven’t been to this match up since the McBride Edwards era but that is about to change. Utah’s Defense was the key, (besides King Louie, of course) the U play calling was somewhat week, but in reality we all anticipated the defense coming back onto the field b/c they were so exciting to watch! My good Friend Daryl and I were hugging each other and total strangers in the jubilation with 47 seconds to go in the game, I ran onto the field with all the rest of the students to Mosh in the Muss, and greeted a few of the big playmakers. My voice is gone and I think I even made a Utah fan out of Eve….we shall see. I’m a little worried about taking her to the BYU Utah game….Some Utah fans can get a little wild….hehehehe, all in good fun.

FINALLY the drama is over and the honeymoon begins….history was made in America yesterday and as much crap that is said about America and its leaders and people isn’t it great to see people pull through in the end and make there own decision! There are a few things I noticed about the voting process that I would like to point out.

1) The voting went smooth except for one BIG problem, when you first activate the voting machine you get a screen that says something to the effect of “vote, Democratic party or Republican party” Yes it was confusing and if you did not read clearly you would end up casting an all party vote…I thought that was very conspicuous, not just that it seemed like a trap but who in there right mind votes straight party anymore??? (Well I can name two people and one of them is Sean Hannity)

2) I shake my head every year we have these elections, especially presidential elections. Who started, and why do we still use, this Electoral College crap? It might as well be put to the BCS committee to find our nation a president, I don’t agree with it at all and I think it is way beyond fair. No, it would not have changed yesterday’s election but it would at least let ALL of us feel like our vote counts for something other then a stat for the newspapers. Lets scratch the whole thing and go back to individual votes, CNN can wait a couple days to get there election results story.

3) I wonder if we will EVER get another president like Abraham Lincoln or George Washington(a). Our constitution needed a lot of help from great men like these in the beginning but it seems that perhaps now we need that kind of leadership and character, hind sight is 20/20 but now we seem to be in somewhat critical condition as a standard to the world for free government and as a standard to the world for the land we represent.



……At least we received our first snow today!


(a) If I remember right Washington wasn’t anything more then a War hero before his presidency and Lincoln, aside from his amazing strength of character had more personal problems then Bill Clinton….I guess those aren’t presidential qualities anymore these days?
